"Tomorrow," I mumbled, thinking thoughts of escape and food but it wasn't long before I fell asleep only to be woken early by the rising sun. Removing myself gently from the sleeping bodies of my companions, I walked to the entrance of the cave and looked out over the ocean. It looked a peaceful day. I found myself thinking of Sasha's words. Did people ever really know? I didn't think so. I hadn't wanted to say but that was a load of bullshit. I didn't know if Maddie had loved me anymore than she knew my feelings for her when she died. My little girl knew. That didn't worry me. I told her... I told her every day, every chance I got so that I could hear those words repeated back to me. I love you too, daddy.

Grabbing the net, I set out for the stream. My stomach ached and my throat was dry. I groaned. Not coconut juice again! I decided I was going to try my look at boiling the stream water today. Whatever harm it did me in the long run could not be as bad as drinking coconut milk.

Laying the net across some rocks, I scooped the water up with a coconut shell while I waited and started making myself a fire. I'd brought a lighter along that I picked off a dead man some days back. It had dried out by now and I got the fire going quickly.

I wont be able to post for a little while, grounded, sorry. Bring me in a little though so I have somewhere to start when I am un-grounded.

Asides from the qualms of homesickness, I could not say that this was too bad. The people here were no better and no worse than everyone else, each with their own quirks, interests, and goals. I suppose I would not mind living here if the food weren't so scarce and the conditions so primitive.

Waking up the next morning, I listened and found that the others had already left the cave. The sun felt warm and I supposed that it was well into mid-morning. I paused and listened carefully again. No, there was no one else here. Sasha, who had insisted that I keep indoors, was gone. I was free.

The tropical sea-breeze was wafting out from my left. I felt my way over and gently let my feet onto the sand, refreshed at finally having the sun on my skin again. Happy, a grin spread across my face and I opened my arms, spinning around and running towards what sounded like the sea.

"Vashi!"

It was the angel-girl. Heather. I smiled towards where her voice had come from. "What is it?"

Heather,

"Oh, nothing. I'm just glad to see you out and about I guess. But I thought Sasha had you under lock and key?" I asked. Vashi strolled up to me.

"She did. But shes not in the cave. I don't know where shes gone, but it can't be far. For now I am going to enjoy my freedom!" I smiled at her and we both ran down to the sea. I waded in but Vashi hesitated.

"Vashi what's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing, it's just I wonder whether my leg can take this." She dipped a toe into the water.

"Sea water is supposed to be very healing." I said slyly. "But I gues if you don't want to swim, then I'll have to have all the cool of the water to myself..." I said mockingly. I lay back on the water letting the waves carry me. Vashi dashed into the water and splashed me in the face.

"What was that for!" I spluttered.

"That. That was for taking the mick." She said but then splashed me playfully so I guessed that she was joking. I splashed her back and she instinctively dicked under the water. She surfaced spluttering and I laughed.

"I guess you weren't expecting to take an early bath." She ducked me under the water and I came up drenched like she was. We laughed it off together and swam towards Rob and Lacy who were fishing with the nets. Rob looked really tired.

"Rob what time did you get up this morning?" I asked scornfully.
Thinking about what you COULD achieve will get you no where. You've got to chase your dreams.

"Sunrise," I muttered as Lacy helped me lift the net out of the water and heave it on to dry land. The fishes thrashed, suffocating on the air. I felt little pity for them. Heather sniffed in disdain and turned to Lacy.

"What's with the cocnut shells?" she asked.

"See him," Lacy said, jerking her finger at me. I let my eyes stray to the line of coconut halves with their milky water but pretended not to have heard.

"Well?" Heather prompted.

"Some of us would rather not drink coconut milk," I said gruffly.

"We're moving camp today aren't we?" Vashi asked. "I'm glad. Fresh water is much better than salt water."
