I drew this picture about two years ago. The quality is bad because I don't have any fancy scanners... Please do comment. Is it a good thing that I have pretty much quit drawing? Is it a good thing that my animal drawings and paintings were lost, and I didn't have a digital camera at the time to take pictures of them?

Hey A.M.

First thing, it would be a lot better if you rotated the picture before posting.
So, it is a pretty good drawing and I think if you keep trying your hand at things like these, your skill would definitely get better.
So, nitpicking this,
1.It would look better if the nose was more of a circular shape.
2.The left hand seems, well, not like a hand. So try working on that.
3.I love the expression Luigi's giving. :D
4.I think the face shouldn't be elongated so much. A little should do.
5.You should practice smooth coloring; the strokes are very evident in the hat.

Cheers and keep drawing!

It's pretty darn cute.

1. The hands on the side of the face. At first, I thought they were just large extended ears. They aren't very human-like. And I know that he is a game character, but you still need it to be your own. The fingers are much too thick. I think that's the main problem.

2. The mustache. It isn't very... 3-D. It just looks like two dead, burnt worms are placed on his face. Because you are doing your own drawing, and it is not an animated figure, you can draw in the details on his beard. You can make it curly, straight, greasy, whatever!

3. The eyes. They are adorable, but like I said before, much too like a game. You should add more gloss to it. Not only the pupils should have a light mark on them.

Bravo! I really like it! Next time you submit a picture, I might add you should rotate it.

Hi Aspiring Author. I really liked this drawing. Being a fan of the Mario games, I wasn't disappointed. I really like Luigi's pose; it reminds me of the Luigi's Mansion cover art. Was that what you were aiming for?

I don't really have any problems with it, except for a few minor things.

• As the reviewers above me mentioned, you should rotate your photo. This can be done on simple photo editing software which your computer should have.

• Why is the date there? Did you take this from your camera? I'd try to find a way to remove it, and I understand that you may not, but it's distracting and it takes away from the overall cleanliness of the photo.

• Resize your drawing! Right now it's huge, and it goes off the edge of the post. This makes it extremely difficult to review! If you don't know how small to make your photo, 200x300 is a good rule of thumb.

Anyway, that's all! Make sure you keep drawing, and please, please don't quit because this was really an amazing photo and would be a shame to let talent like yours go to waste. Anyway, Ta Ta for now, and be sure to PM me if you have any questions.

Au Revior.

Thanks for the reviews guys. :D
And yes, I was going for the video game look. I wanted to be faithful to the original. And yes again, the cover art from the Gamecube game Luigi's Mansion was my inspiration. :P

Ok, for starters, I personally love Luigi and he is my favourite Nintendo character, you are wise for drawing him! I like how you kind of did him screaming, like from the game 'Luigi's Mansion'. My favourite part is his hat, because you can kind of tell that it's going to come off soon as his head is laid back.
Well done! It's really nice and such a realistic drawing of him!!!!

Hey there. Personally, I think Luigi's Mansion was the best game ever invented, but that's not why I'm here. Aside from what the others said, I really don't have anything to say. Although, try shaping up the mustache and the hands so they look more even, not super long or bulky. If you want the shading strokes on the hat to be less noticeable, don't just color in one direction. Instead of just coloring up and down, color up, down, left, right, and any other direction you can think of! This will blend the color better so that every stroke isn't noticeable. Good job!

Hey there!
Luigi is such a beast of a videogame character -- Mario's better though! And if I'm honest that's what made me click on your work XD.
Any'oo. I love the position you've drawn Luigi from I think it shows your creativeness. I think you should keep drawing so you can only get better at the features and proportions. The nitpicks I have with this is mainly just the features and that extra few steps needed to get the image to "perfection." Other than that, the colour and the emotion you've drawn Luigi in is excellent.

I'd comission you to go off and draw a version of Mario :) but I don't have anything to give you XD. Draw one anyway :P I'd love to see it!
Keep up the drawin'
Ben

Thanks, I thought the reviews for my drawing ended a long time ago. It's great to see new ones. And, coloring/colouring is my enemy as you can clearly see. I don't think I would mind living in a world where everything is in black and white.

-And BenFranks, I am considering drawing Mario. I do have drawings of him lying around the house somewhere. But, what would you people think if I don't color/colour my next drawing?

-It's funny when I was like eight kids often called me the best drawer they knew. I would always insist that I couldn't possibly be that. Things were so simple in those years. Every still had their imagination. However as the years pass by more and more kids discarded their imaginations. It's sad really.

Perhaps this is why so many kids are drinking and doing drugs, and I'm not even going to go into the other things they do. *Sigh* What has the world come to? :backtotopic:

-Gosh I miss the times when art came so easily for me. HA! It was also the times when jealous kids tore my paintings in half during art class. :( I could have done something about it easily, but why get myself into trouble because of a bunch of idiots? In a few years I'll be living my dream of being a film director, and what will they be doing? Once they enter the real world they'll see that there is nothing to tear in half but their pathetic pay checks.
