The Good: YWS is now on a dedicated server. This means much faster loading times and easier management for myself.

The Bad: YWS was done for about a day because something got messed up; a something that I have yet to discover what it exactly was. But, everything is back to normal now.

The Ugly: If you were a member of JustGoat.com, all your posts are gone.

Ah... well... at least YWS is back up. And at least it was down while I was busy.

I thought something weird was up.. didn't think changing servers would take 24 hours.. course I'm no expert there, though.

everything on just.goat is gone? oh no.. hallaluah nothing was lost here! at least that I've found..

There's probably a few posts missing, but not many. Fortunately I had the foresight to back up everything before I did the switchover. Unfortunately, I did not have such foresight with regards to JG.

Does this switch mean that you ditched the old system, making YWS independant? Or is it a part of the $40 a month plan?

I'm glad this site is back up, otherwise I'd go into withdrawl, which is an ugly thing.

YWS is now being hosted on a virtual dedicated server, which is basically like 1/4 of a server, which is all that's needed (and should be all that's needed for many years; even if YWS grew to 100,000 members over that time). On the same plan, I'm also running a couple of other sites, and JustGoat.com will be back up too when I get around to fixing that debacle (tonight probably).

There's some cool things about running off a server now too. For instance, I could now make it such that people could host their site with YWS; www.justgoat.com and www.nathancaldwell.net will both be hosted with YWS.
