As you probably guessed, I'm a new guy here. Actually, today was the first time I've heard of YWS. After browsing for a while, I thought I'd give the forum a try. I like the atmosphere, the people, and the plenty of topics to post in. It feels like a laid-back, easygoing place, so I think I could be at home here in no time.

I've been writing all my life. I wrote my first book in 1997, but I didn't start to consider fiction writing a career until 2008. I love fantasy, and I'm trying to write a book that's worth publishing.

I'm also an editor and constructive critic by heart, but I won't flame or bash people. My goal is to motivate, inspire, and simplify the writing process so that it's easier. Writing is difficult--there's no doubt about it. But there are ways to make it easier, and since I want to someday teach fiction writing, I'm looking for those ways to make writing easier.

Nice to meet you, and thanks for the greetings! I definitely plan to make myself at home here. I've been to a lot of writing forums, but it hasn't always been the best experience. But when I saw this site, I knew that it could easily be right up my alley. Of course, time's going to tell if that's the case, but I'm very optimistic here!

I've actually written a grand total of nine books--five book-length fanfics, three fantasy novels, and a fiction writers' guide--all of which I'm not ready to publish at all. I've seen the works of Gloria Tesch, Christopher Paolini, and Stephenie Meyer, and when I look back at my stuff, I become even more hesitant to send off something to editors! But every single one of the books I've written has helped me grow and do the very best I can. Hopefully, I'll be able to share it and inspire people with what I've learned. I know I've learned a lot and am willing to keep writing.

Do you write fantasy or do you just like to write it? Both! Writing fantasy is my passion, and it includes reading and analyzing it.
If you were a color which would you be? Blue.
What's your favorite Disney movie? The Lion King. I grew up with it, and it's grown up with me out of my childhood.

One thing that I definitely plan to discuss and/or debate is the works of Christopher Paolini. If you have any thoughts on the author and his books, I'm interested to hear what you think! It's a major hot-button issue for me in more ways than one.

You're an editor and critic? That's just fabulous-- have you done anything beyond peer-level in the avenues of either? I kind of want to request a critique from you now, haha, but, the problem is, I don't post much at all.

Any how, nice to meet you! I'm June, and it's certainly good to have you here. I must say, eight novels is pretty impressive. Have you ever done NaNoWriMo?

The Lion King is totally one of the best movies ever, no arguments. While lightning is invariably very cool, snow is still one up! You can't play with lightning.

Let's see... do you do poetry? What's your biggest pet peeve in writing?

Nice to meet you! Thanks for the welcome! I'm an editor and critic only in practice; I'm not yet to the point where I'm getting paid to do it, but I have some skills in these fields (and time and postings will determine that, I figure), so I'll use them as well as I can. I've done reviews on Amazon.com, but that's as far as it currently goes. One thing's for sure: If you ever request a review, I'll be happy to do it.

Thanks for the feedback on the novels! It's definitely an accomplishment, especially since I never forgot the most important part--having fun. I've never done NaNoWriMo because it's too high-pressure for me. I take my time developing my stories; the only rule I have is that the process takes as long as it needs to. The key is that I settle with what I've got before I go any further.

I'm not a poet, but I've tried my hand at it. It's a great art form, but it's not to the point where I have a large output. If I practice more, it'll change all that. But my biggest pet peeve in any kind of writing is that I'm too hard on myself. I'm good at the techniques, but they're my biggest weakness because they keep me from enjoying the story that's taking shape. I'm getting better at overcoming it, though.

The Lion King has got to be one of the best Disney movies out there. Totally epic xD C.S. Lewis is an amazing author but I daresay Tolkien is better But then again, we're all subject to our own opinions.
