Do you ever get the thought that you'll lose your talent for writing?
I get that all the time. I get very insecure as I plan to make a career out of it; and I constantly need to get myself reassured that I haven't lost it.
Whenever I don't write a story or a poem for a long time I almost panic!
Sometimes I force myself to write but of course that doesn't help as a story without any inspiration is empty.
I just hope that this fear of mine is completely baseless.

I'm terrified that I'll lose it! I can totally sympathize! Its been a while since I've written and I'm so scared that I won't be able to write again!

You should avoid writing completely. It's like when you get a dream saying that your going to be in a car crash and die, so you move to Amish country. It's a great idea, if I do say so myself.
Spoiler
I like people thinking that I have something so scandalous to say that I put it in spoiler tags, and I'm sorry that because of this selfish desire you were roped into reading this for not real lasting value.

I'd say it was baseless, but I can empathize with how worrying it must feel!
Inspiration tends to have a mind of it's own. It strikes whenever it feels like, in no logical pattern whatsoever. There's no need to worry when you haven't had any for a while, 'cause it could well strike twice a day next week. But it's not something that fades away- unless you completely change as a person and become cynical and unimaginative. But I don't think that's very likely!

I can't really empathise at the moment cause I have like ten ideas a week. However when I was eight I got worried cause I didn't have any inspiration until I was like ten. I f you really are a good writer then you'll always have your imagination it will just go away sometimes.

I never feel that way. It's impossible.

Because I'm afraid I'll never get it to begin with! :P

I get that fear on any vacation. I love writing enough that I write when I shouldn't (say, in the middle of a test), but if I'm stuck in a hotel room, out of town, anywhere outside of my average schedule, I can't write. I can't write, I can't edit, I can't read, I can't do anything! I just goof around, and don't do anything, then I get a shakey start when the vacation ends. Eventually, I pick it up again, but I just lose all my thoughts within a vacation. But so far, it hasn't completely disappeared, so I can't say I expect it ever will. But the fear will always hang around.

I think whatever talent I may have originally had-- if I ever had any, I lost before I came to YWS, and frankly, I have no confidence in my writing, which is why I never post on here.

I had it my middle school years, but initially upon entering High School I seemed to had lost it. I gained it back my Junior year of High School. And now I am living it. :D

At least I hope.
