I walk upon the icy lanes
enveloped in dense snow
and see the trees so white and bare
their branches hanging low

No soul do I find in sight
to face the chilling air
all sitting warm and snug inside
for the wintry charm, not many care

I see the mighty mountains
with their peaks grey and silver
how beautiful do they seem!
adorned with their icy cover

As I take in the exquisite scene
of this Winter's walk
embedded in my mind it shall be
for many years to talk

Hey, July! Welcome to YWS. =D

This poem had a nice flow to it. The rhyming scheme was soft and didn't feel too forced (with a couple of exceptions - see below) and while it didn't deliver as much as it could have done on the descriptive side, it gave a great impression to the atmosphere. Let me get through the picky criticisms first.

As I walk upon the icy lanes

As... what? You don't really finish the sentence. You should get rid of the first word, so that it connects with the rest of the stanza.

the wintry charm,few mind

This is forced - the "few mind" is tacked on, and I'm not entirely sure what it means - if few mind the snow, why are they all inside? Unless I'm reading it incorrectly. =/ Also, "mind" doesn't really rhyme with "winds". Writing using rhyme is difficult, so pay attention that it fits in with the rest of the line and that that line isn't made awkward in order to accommodate for it.

While it was written "nicely", it could have gone a lot further. The description of mountains, for me, should be the soul of the poem. It's what makes it such a memorable walk, it depicts the wintry weather and it's seen by the character. So either spend a little longer on it or really think up some imagery. What does it look like? What does it reflect? Get the character to look around, and describe what else they see.

Essentially, while it had a good rhythm there's not much content to get excited about. Let me know if you've any questions that need answered.

Hey July! First of all, welcome to YWS! If you need any help with ANYTHING, feel free to bug me. :)

Your poem was lovely! I love the description of snow and mountains (I live in California, away from mountains, so we don't see snow at all in the winter) and it's just really pretty. You have a lovely way with words and expressing these words with just the right amount of description, which is fabulous. :)

The next step is to make these words make sense. There were certain things that you said which seemed more like you were caught in the description rather than interested in telling us about what happened, and the two should really be hand in hand! For your first stanza, you said the word "as" but you never finished the thought, which was sad. And you started to describe the people indoors, but again, you never really finished your thought. Also sad!

So I would like you to tweak this poem so that you can finish all your thoughts. That way, there can be more lovely description. :D

All in all, this is a lovely poem. A star for you! :D

Hi there July, Pink here to do a quick review.
As I walk upon the icy lanes
enveloped in snow
and see the trees so white and bare
their branches hanging low(.)
I see the mighty mountains
with their peaks Grey and silver
how beautiful do they seem!
adorned with their icy cover

Grey should not be capitalized.

This was pretty decent, although I did spot a few things regarding your grammar. But those are easy fixes. Overall, I did like this poem. It reminded me of home, where I live now never snows and I miss it. Christmas doesn't even feel like Christmas without snow! It brought out a few of my memories so that's good.
Although I do agree with what Snoink said about finishing your thoughts. I think you could have gone a lot further with this and don't be afraid to make it any longer, put some more feeling into it and let it roll!
Continue writing!

Thanks for the reviews.I really appreciate any comments because I need them!I know the last line of the second stanza is a little out of place. The problem is I couldn't find anything that rhymes with "winds".It kind of tells that poeple don't see the winter's charm. So I thought it would fit. When I wrote the word "grey" it was underlined in red so I thought perhaps it was wrong i'll change it.I know this poem has more potential and when I have any new ideas I will add them. Thanks again!. :D
