Hark the coming of the Flying Dutchman...
The churning seas tossed the ship violently, waves rising and and falling as if reaching out to the boat to bring it to the depths of the ocean. The rain poured viciously, the lightening illuminating the night sky for mere seconds. The grisly captain held onto the boat, steering it right into the midst of the storm, his black beard tangling in the fierce wind.
...with is tattered sails, and demonic crew...
"We won't be able to make it through the storm, Cap'n!" A sailor yelled at him, nearly falling over because of the heavy rocking of the boat. His yell was barely audible through the wind.
The captain laughed, a loud booming laugh, a maniacal laugh. And he continued laughing. It echoed off the waves and the heavens, it rang through the ears of the men hiding in the cabin. Their captain had gone mad, challenging the very world itself.
...the ship sails upon the waters, emitting a pale ghostly light...
The horizon seemed to disappear in front of them, the waters gave way to just sky, there was nothing left except the fierce lightening and the loud booming thunder. Their boat started to fall into darkness, falling endlessly, but still the captain continued laughing.
They had reached the end of the world.
...it was sentenced by the gods above to sail the oceans forever, that damned crew cursed to set sail until oblivion.

-->theme of the story, me matey
A long time ago, a ship called The Flying Dutchman terrorized the seven seas. They were hunted by all the great countries, but they would always slip through their grasps as if they didn't exist at all. It was rumoured that in the belly of that magnificent ship lied treasure of untold amounts, treasure worth so much, who ever found it could become the king of the world. Temptation was great, and many a ship came and challenged the great vessel of the Dutchman. But every single one that set sail would never return.
The Flying Dutchman's crew was known for their sins and their greed, living only to kill innocents, and burn down villages. They were like barbarians, ruthless, merciless, godless. And in the belly of their ship, the held the treasure of above all others. But what happened to this ship? That captain went mad, the crew starved to death, and God itself punished them for their deeds.
As they reached the end of the world, their boat sank, with its tattered black sails, and its cherry wood. It left a ghostly aspiration, a boat that haunted the seven seas. The aspiration was the ghosts of the crew, and of the mad captain. It was sentenced to sail the ocean for eternity, never stopping, never setting sail to the land again.

-->your place in this epic yarn
You are a sailor aboard a vessel searching for the remains of the Dutchman at the end of the world. Something has drawn you to search for this vessel, whether it be the lure of treasure, or curiosity, now is your chance to find it.
It is rumoured, that the Dutchman, the sunken vessel in the sea, would be able to be found, that who ever first set foot aboard would inherit the world itself, would own all those miscellaneous treasures, and would gain immortality. But meanwhile, that ghostly aspiration set sail to find those sailors, to pull them aboard their ghost ship, to get a few additions to their crew, never to leave the boat ever again.
You are aboard either two valiant vessels: The Great Fortune or the Rising Sun, two rival ships both searching for the Dutchman's treasure.
On both ships, you will serve under a captain, Cap'n Quinn Bellamy and Cap'n Bailey Jones. Their profiles will be below.
Under the orders of the captains, your will set sail upon your very own adventure, sailing through the seven seas, being chased by enemy ships, and finding buried treasure.

Name: Something piratey. Need help, go here: http://gangstaname.com/pirate_name.php
Gender: Let's keep the gender number close to equal. I don't mind if there is more boys than girls, but no more girls then boys.
Age: 16 to any age from there. Have fun with it.
Crew Member of: Put what are you are apart of here, either The Great Fortune or the Rising Sun.
Appearance: What they look like. ;)
Personality:
History: How they came aboard the vessel as they did, or just random relevant information that will affect the story in any way.
Likes/Dislikes:
Other: Up for love, random information, anything really.

**You can have up to two characters.

--> board ye vessel

The Great Fortune
Appearance
The Great Fortune is run ruthlessly for money and treasure, and it is quite successful I might add. It is a not exactly a pirate ship, but it gets hired to do different odd jobs, like cargo movements. Of course, that was until they heard about the flying Dutchman.
Captain: Cap'n Quinn Bellamy
-->Captains Character Profile
Name: Cap'n Quinn Bellamy
Gender: Male
Age: 45
Appearance:
Quinn
He is incredibly tall and heavily built. He had watery blue eyes and dark black hair, streaked with black. His skin is weathered and tanned, but surprisingly smooth, there is little wrinkles on his face. He wields a silver sword and usually wears a bandana on his head, but he does have an elaborate captains hat he sometimes wears.
Personality: Friendly and kind, he doesn't want his crew to get angry at him or become mutinous. He is kind to every one of them, though he barely gives his crew members a break before he barks another order. He is fond of sailing, and loves nothing more than to be on the sea.
History: The boat was given to him by his father. He lives for little more than the boat. His wife and child had died from a Plague which has left him is mourning since. He was ready to get rid of the boat after their death, but he kept it because his daughter loved nothing more than to be sailing on the boat with him.
He is looking for the Dutchman because he heard that it could bring his wife and child back. He doesn't care about anything else.
Likes/Dislikes: He loves to sail, and be on the open seas. He loves nothing more than a challenge. Though he doesn't like questions and lazy crew members. He is not afraid to yell at them if he has to.
Other: Not up for love.
Crew:
Skylar Berggs

Rising Sun
Appearance
It is larger than The Great Fortune. It is a full pirate ship. It hunts down other boats, boards them, steals the treasures, then burns it. They are ruthless, lead by a fierce captain. They are in search of the Dutchman for treasure.
Captain: Cap'n Bailey Jones
-->Captains Character Profile:
Name: Cap'n Bailey Jones
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Appearance:
Bailey.
She looks like that. :)
The kind of get-up she would wear.
She is around 5"5 and beautiful for certain. She has fiery curly hair that she wears freely. She actually wears a captains hat, and demands authority from her crew. She is a petite thing and incredibly elegant.
Personality: She is very tempermental, and some people even think she is mad. She loves fire, so she always sets things on fire, and she always has a pocket watch which she frequently checks, though it had stopped since two years back. She is merciless, and quick to judge. She jumps into things on first impression rather then look into it further.
History: Bailey has no recollection of her past. All she remembers is being captain of this boat, and always having a pocket watch with her. That pocket watch is inscribed with Jones, on the back and that is the only thing connecting her to her past. She is greedy, and is only after the treasure from the Dutchman.
The reason why she has found a rival in Quinn is because he was the only one who has escaped when her boat attacked their boat. They got away, and she vowed to sink their ship the neck time she saw him.
Likes/Dislikes: She loves fire and seeing people beg for their lives. She dislikes when people talk back to her and when she doesn't get her way.
Other: She is very flirtatious, so if she meets one of your male characters, she may come off as... well... yah. She is up for love.
Crew:
Morgana Havisham
Jack Rogue

The Flying DutchmanAppearance
The dreaded ship of the seas. It is smaller, but it has tattered sails and cobwebs. It is also covered in dead sea life like sea weed. The only thing that is different between it and the picture is that the Dutchman has black sails and flies a bright red flag.
Captain: Cap'n James Blackbeard

Name: Morgana Havisham

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Crew Member of: Rising Sun

Appearance: long, wavy black hair; very tan skin; teal colored eyes; slender; about 5'3" (she's the shortest member on the ship).

Personality: She's very independent, smart and strong. She has a fiery temper but she's a good fighter. She's funny and well- loved on the ship for being as tough as the men. She loves her pirate family and, although she teases them constantly, she would probably do anything for them.

History: Her father was a pirate on the Rising Sun and when she was 13 she joined him on the boat because her mother died. She loved the pirate life and her father, but he fell overboard one night while she was sleeping and drowned. She almost left the boat then, but for some unknown reason, she changed her mind and stayed to become a true pirate.

Likes: fighting, sailing, sleeping in, plunder, her pirate family, the Rising Sun, being free

Dislikes: manners, dressing up like a girl, kitchen duty, chores, the Great Fortune

Other: has a pet monkey. Up for love

Name: Skylar Berggs (Sky)

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Crew Member of: The Great Fortune

Appearance: Loose, wavy black hair and green eyes. She's about 5'6 and slim and curvy. She weilds two blades. She does have obvious muscle. http://eonn.deviantart.com/art/Pirate-l ... I-64396170

Personality: Sky has a very huge passion for sailing. She's very fun-loving and she also loves to avoid daily duties at all costs. She rarely gets in trouble for doing so, since she's hardly ever caught, but when she is caught consequences are sure to follow, even if her father was Cap'n Quinn's best mate. She's got a spit fire personality.

History: Her mother and father were both crew mates on the Great Fortune, and that's when they met, when Captain Quinn inherited his ship from his father, and he and Sky's father decided to start sailing. Her mother died from the same plague that killed Captain Quinn's wife and daughter, who was also Sky's best friend at the time. Immediately after her mother died, she began sailing with her father. At first, she hated it since she was always sea sick, but it gradually became her passion. Her father died when she was twelve from a poisoning, and she's looked up to Quinn and a father and captain, even though he sees her as part of the crew.

Likes: Sailing, talking to Captain Quinn, making fun of aristocratic people, her pet and bantering with the crew, especially the chef.

Dislikes: CHORES, the fact her family's gone, sea sickness after being docked at a town for a couple of days, drunken crew members, touchy feely crew members, and the rat stew the chef makes when they're low on food.

Other: Up for love
Oh, the tiger will love you. There is no sincerer love than the love of food.

Name: Jack Rogue

Gender: Male

Age: 34

Crew Member of: Rising Sun

Appearance: http://emi-hotaru.deviantart.com/art/Pirate-15751407

He's very tall, with a mass of shaggy, matted, greasy dark brown hair. His eyes are mismatched, and he has the marks of many a feirce battle on his face. He has terrible hygene, and there always seems to be grit under his nails. He has the build of an acrobat, and is a talented climber, swinger, and jumper.

Personality: When he first came aboard, he was deranged and insane in every sense of the word. Now, however, he has calmed down and become very cold and calculating. He follows orders usually, but will sometimes add his own small comment to them. He has a dry sense of humor. Every now and then, however, his insanity returns and he will become just as deranged as he ever was.

History: Jack snuck aboard the Sun one night when it had laid anchor not far from a small port town. He hide himself well until the ship was far out at sea again. Jack revealed himself, and did not get a warm welcome in the slightest. There was a large fight, where Jack took control of the Crow's Nest on the mast. He defended the Nest until he worked out an agreement with Cap'n Bailey Jones that he would sail with their crew. Jack is both part and apart of the crew of the Sun. He pulls his own weight in helping with the daily running of the ship, and he has proved to be an excellent fighter and pillager when it was needed. However, Jack seems to have very little trust in the crew (Not surprisingly, as he to this day is still not very well liked.) and refuses to sleep in the crew's quarters. Jack can be found on the deck, rain or shine, every night. He only seems to be asleep half the time as well, and always awakes to any slight noise. Jack's past before he came onto the Rising Sun is largely unknown. I'm not sure if it will play a part in the story, really, but if you are curious (Jack has never told anyone this)

Spoiler
Jack's birth name was Benjamen Mackley. He, until very recently, was a high-stanging officer in the naval forces, and commanded his own crew the Bradley. His crew were some of the front-line forces in a long and fierce territory war against an enemy country. As the war ran on, Ben noticed a slight change in himself. He began isolating himself from his crew, spending more and more time locked away in his cabin. Ben blamed it on the war. As the months of almost persistant combat wore on, Ben grew more and more deranged. His crew began to whisper after his sanity. During one particularly long battle, the Bradley was destroyed, and most of the crew killed. Another of their navy's ships, the Truth picked up the few survivors, along with Ben. Ben's crew quietly told the Truth's captain what had happened, how Ben had refused to retreat when there was a clear way out of the battle and it was apparent the Bradley would not make it through the fight. They told of Ben's growing madness, and of how he forced members of the crew to cut the lifeboats off of the Bradley to prevent any type of mutiny. Ben was taken into custody, and dropped off in the first port city the Truth came to. Ben was put into the city's jail for holding until he could be properly tried. Somehow, Ben escaped the prison. After stealing some weapons from the prison's armory, Ben quickly returned to the only thing he knew: the sea. Ben saw the Rising Sun in the distance, stole a rowboat, and quickly sailed to the Sun. He sank the rowboat once he reached the Rising Sun's side, and climbed aboard. He now awaits the chance to get revenge on his old crew, and the crew of the Truth, who he blames for his imprisonment.

Likes/Dislikes: He likes the sea wind on his face and the feel of old wood, and dislikes very loud, obnoxious people.

Other: Up for love. He can be very obsessive.

Great profiles guys, and it is nice to see you again potter. ;)
Okay guys, the ratio for males to females right now is 2:3. We need more males. Feel free to make a second profile too if you want. We need to get a few more people on each ship, especially The Great Fortune so keep that im mind, any future joiners, or any of you who want to make another character.

Here are my characters :)

Name: Ann Marie Cutty

Gender: female

Age: 27

Crew Member of: The Rising Sun

Appearance: *couldn't find a good picture* Long brown hair kept pulled back in a ponytail so it doesn't get in her way. Doesn't usually wear dresses (but owns a few ratty ones) and typically dresses like the men. Has an apron she wears tied around her waist at all times. Sparkling green eyes and a light scar under her left eye from an incident with a knife in the kitchen.

Personality: Ann is almost always in good spirits and enjoyable to be around. The sea is where she was born and she believes it is where she will die as well. She gets along with most everyone on the ship and is an essential part of the crew. Ann is the ships cook and takes care of the majority of kitchen duties. She's never been a fighter, but is more prepared to take on danger than the rest of the crew suspects.

History: Ann was born to the ships cook and his wife while sailing. Her parents have long since passed and she took over her father's job.

Likes: good food (tries to cook the best meals she can for the crew), the sea, sailing, laughter

Dislikes: leaving the ship she was born on, rudeness, anything spoiled (be it food or people)

Other: up for love

-------------------------------

Name: William Brady

Gender: male

Age: 19

Crew Member of: The Great Fortune

Appearance: http://media.photobucket.com/image/anim ... ime160.jpg

Personality: Will is just a boy at heart, though he tries to act capable of being an "adult". Even though he is at the proper age for adulthood, he can't help but feel young. The sea is not his home and he knows it. Adventure and danger are second nature to Will, and the only reason he really even likes being at sea. He's a thrill-seeker. Will is also a bit of a ladies man and a troublemaker.

History: The Captain took on Will as a ships boy when he was young and had no one else left. So, Will feels obligated to stay on as a part of the crew. Because of his childhood being cut short, Will was never really able to fully grow up.

Likes: climbing the masts and hiding out in the crows nest, causing trouble, when the ship docks in a town for several days, adventure, music

Dislikes: being at sea for too long, chores, plundering (but he enjoys the thrill of the danger)

Other: up for love

Okay, here's my boy profile:

Name: Agravaine Black

Gender: Male

Age: 27

Crew Member of: Rising Sun

Appearance: http://nathie.deviantart.com/art/Teaser-WIP-Pirate-Bad-Guy-117267698 Agravaine is tall, at 6'3, and lithe. He's very strong, but not very burly. His eyes are a deep green.

Personality: He's very clever, has a smart mouth, and is mischievous. He gets into trouble around the ship, but not for anything worth beating him for. He's also a notorious skirt chaser.

History: Agravaine was always the rebel, and when his mother died when he was 12, he ran away to join the crew of the Rising Sun. He has a sister, but he doesn't know her very well. She was much younger than him, at almost ten years. He left her on a door step of a well off family and went on his merry way.

Likes/Dislikes: Likes rum, women, treasure, and the sea. Dislikes hangovers, scurvy, clingy women, and the law.

Other: Up for love.

Here's my girl:

Name: Amelia Black

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Crew Member of: The Great Fortune

Appearance: http://hallopino.deviantart.com/art/Pirate-63167137

Personality: A generally happy person, but she can also be very grave when the time calls for it. She likes to pull pranks on the other sailors, and she also likes to sing. She plays the mandolin.

History: Amelia was adopted by a blacksmith and his wife. They found her on their door step with a little tag on her that told them her name and age but nothing else. They were good to her, but she always longed for something more. When she turned fifteen, she met Cap'n Bellamy in a tavern and told him about the adventure she longed for. He invited her to be a part of his crew, and she accepted. She now helps with navigation.

Likes/Dislikes: She likes singing, playing jokes, sword fighting. She dislikes sickness of any kind, boredom, and bad storms.

Other: Up for love. She also has a German Shepard that she simply calls Dog. http://ladyoom.deviantart.com/art/German-Shepard-103520431
