Just a few more sketches of mine.
I did these in pencil and then overlaid parts of it with charcoal.

You have a very interesting style. Some of the comments I will give you could just be the artistic liscense, but I'l make them anyway. :D

Drawing 1:
His neck seems a little too long for his head. Maybe you want it that way, but it bothers me just a tad. :D

His left ear is very much smaller than the right, and shaped very differently. I really like the shape and shading of the right ear, though!

Even with the age lines in his face, he looks...too one-dimensional. I would add more shading to give him depth and define the features in his face such as the jaw, nose, etc.

At the bottom of the picture, you clearly define his suspenders, but his tie fades into the lines. I would like to see the bottom of the tie, personally. Or you could sort of soften the straps of his suspenders more.
Overall, nice work. :D

Drawing 2:
I love this one! He's got character, a personality. I can even picture how he'd walk, what his voice would sound like. Very nice! Yes, he's out of proportion, but I like it that way. On his right sleeve, he looks like he has some sort of flyer's badge. Did you intent him to have that? It's just sort of bird-shaped like the one's they give at the air port. The only thing that really bugs me is whatever he has in his mouth. At first, I thought it was a cigar, but it's too long and thin. Then I thought it might have been a piece of wheat, but it was too straigh, wide, and the tip wasn't right. So...is it a stick? To me, with his hat, it seems like he'd have a piece of straw or something hanging out of his mouth.
Overall, I really like this one!
Let me know when you have anything else! And if you need to ask me any questions about the above, feel free to PM me. :D

Hello there Daydreamer. I agree with Searria, as your drawing style is very interesting. However, that does appear to be problematic, in a sense.

The first one has a neck that's too long, and it gives him the appearance of a horse. If it's meant to be a parody or a caricature, then keep it, by all means. It all depends on how you want us to view your drawing.

The second one has a face that's too jagged and twisted to be realistic. Even if it's meant to be a caricature, it doesn't look natural in the least. I'd recommend following a grid pattern to make sure his features are in check.

Hey thar,

I like your style, Dreamer. Your sketches are rather rustic and nonetheless rather brilliant. I wish I could draw like you. :)

I would recommend strengthening your outer lines to distinguish them from shading. I'm not going to say that the soft outer lines are bad, but in the second drawing here, you can't see the detail of the hat brim too well. Stronger lines could help that.

Excellent caricature, by the way. You're pretty good. :)

Thankyou everybody!
Just to clear this up which I probably should have in the first place, these pictures are meant to be out of proportion and comical looking.

That was the look I was going for.

And Searria, I didn't think anyone would notice the flyer's badge or realize what it was!
Wow. :)

Again, thank you.

You know, I normally really don't like caricatures, but I must say you are amazing with a pencil and some paper. :)

I think all the others' comments hold true, particularly the extremely long neck in the first illustration. Also for the first pic, some of the wrinkles in his neck look a little...weird, to say the least. And his shoulders are uneven! But hey, you did great. Definitely comical. :D

For the second illustration, the differences in the eyes are a little staggering for me. Not sure why that strikes me as so totally odd, but it does. ;) As Sea mentioned, that thing sticking out of his mouth? I have no clue what it is! First, I thought it was, like, a cigarette or cigar. Then, I think it's a stick or straw or something similar. (Hay?) Now, I have no idea what to think it is! Haha!

Anyway, thanks for the amazing pictures. As I said, I normally don't bother with this kind of stuff, but your works stick out of the crowd. Great job and keep drawing! :smt001

No way. Is that the BFG? I LOVE THE BFG. It was my first favorite book. If not it sure looks like him.
