Ps3, Xbox 360, or Wii?

Which do you think is better? The Xbox 360, the Ps3, or the Wii.

Wii. It's the only one where you get exercise while you play.

Okay, I will go through all of them *is sad* (I wrote all this before, but I deleted it somehow.

Xbox360: There is a very wide selection of games for this console - actually there is probably a game for everyone.

PROS - You can have up to eight players, co-op, depending on the amount of controllers you want to buy - recommendation 2 (each player can log into their own seperate profiles that they can log into while others are still logged on). Avatars and reward systems - very fun when you've finished the game to try and get the awards and get GAMER POINTS. These only help if you subscribe (and use the an internet connection.)

CONS - Paying for subscription - if you ask me it is a total rip off! *Sigh* Some games that are really good won't be on this console. Sadly, some games stick to their first console brands and do not expand any further. Batteries do not last long, which makes me sad. I love playing for hours on end. Actually maybe I just have shoddy batteries . . . *shrugs*

Wii: Sad to say Wii has a very limited range of games and I have found only about 10 are worth buying and playing. In my opinion Wii is just an upgrade from the GameCube with motion sensors and a different controller.

PROS - You can get fit. Yay . . . Just what we want with a GAME console . . . Some of the games are actually fun.

CONS - Not worth the money. No online (I don't think)and once again I don't think there are many games you really want to play. However, just to play Twilight Princess: The Legend Of Zelda you need to buy the Wii. That is the only reason I would anyway.

And my favourite,

PS3: Slowly gathering quite a few titles under this console though not as much as Xbox360, but as this console is only 4 years old (a good console last 5, before being upgraded) its selection should widen soon.

PROS - LOTS of gig to do anything with. LOTS! It is also the cheapest BluRay player in the markets. The games are usually stunning, with its processor I can see why (Many have said that it will a few years before a game truly unlocks the potential a PS3 holds.) You can browse the internet without it costing you a car (with either wireless or an ehternet cable) AND the PlayStation Network is free! Yes, free I said!

CONS: Make sure you know the model that you're buying and what you can do with it. Newer models have HEAPSA gigs, but little other uses. OMFG! You can't play PS2 games on them! SHOCK HORROR! I loved PS2 games. (I have my old PS2 plugged in just so I can play these ). Unlike the Xbox360 you can't have multiple people logging in at once so co-op isn't as fun. However, is you want to play co-op you can easily just let them be you with a number next to their name. (That's what happens ) Also, PS3's only take up to 7 players due to their limited lights.

Overall, I think it's a tie between Xbox360 and PS3. Though I am a tad bit biased (my first good console was a PSOne) I would like to say that Xbox360 is more a family thing while PS3 is an indulge yourself console.

Favorite Xbox360, most games have better graphics on the 360 version. And people were always talking about how the PS3 was the next step in gaming. It turned out to be used as mostly my movie player.

I love my xbox360 and I personally think it has a better friend system or social experience. AspiringAuthorA..M. you better watch out for all the PS3 fan boys yelling at you for saying the xbox has better graphics, because they will do that.

He's somewhat correct too, by the way. A lot of multiplatform games do have very slightly better graphics on the 360. The difference is usually so small you have to have the two versions running next to each other to be able to tell, though.

It's mostly older games, too. And don't forget, there are some multiplatform games that look better on the PS3 too. Not to mention the fact that the two current console graphic kings (Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2) are only on the PS3.

He's incorrect about the movie player thing, though. They're mostly used for games. =)

I really have to agree about the 360 and the graphics. I've been an XBOX fan through the ages, but I've also heard stories about the 360 and the red ring of death. Has anyone ever experienced it? And was the system worth it to get a new one/repaired?

If you get a brand new 360, the odds are in your favour. They're pretty reliable now days, even if they're still not quite as reliable as the PS3.

They come with a 3 year warranty too, and are supposedly quite easy to get replaced, so it shouldn't be too big a problem either way.


My advice to everyone is to just get the console which has the games they like the look of.

Like the look of Halo, Gears of War, or Forza? Get a 360.

Prefer the look of Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4, or LittleBigPlanet? Get a PS3.

The two consoles are of similar quality of games, so you're good with whichever you get.

I have a refurbished Xbox 360 console and it serves me well. They replaced within a couple of weeks, so can't complain about the service. I'm pretty annoyed about how it doesn't have an inbuilt wireless adapter, how you have to pay for online gaming & the fact I ever have to get it replaced in the first place (although ironically the refurbished Xbox no longer has the disc read errors my old one had, which meant I couldn't play Mass Effect).

I agree with Sureal that there's not a great deal of difference between the 360 and PS3.

too true about gamefaqs although I've never been a member there. As for the newer 360s being reliable I've had my xbox for a year and so have two of my friends and none of us have experienced the red ring of death.

None of the above. The PC is the best gaming platform hands down. No matter what you console gamers say, we made gaming what it is. We invented the FPS. We perfected the RTS. We are the home of almost all indie developers. We have no "anti modding" policies, in fact we support the practice. We are where voice chat was born (Skype (http://www.skype.com/) and Mumble (http://mumble.sourceforge.net/) are pretty good, and free) Normal, every day computers have 2x better hardware than any console, and my gaming rig has 5x. We have better graphics, larger levels, and smarter AI because of this. And, of course, there is no way to play a videogame without a full slab of keys and a mouse.

If anyone is interested in any free-to-play games (our "free to play" games have console quality, by the way, they don't stick just because they are free) just to try out, I suggest Combat Arms (http://combatarms.nexon.net/) (an FPS), League of Legends (http://leagueoflegends.com/)(a team strategy/tower defense game), and Soldat (http://www.soldat.pl/en/) (a 2d shooter). For Combat Arms and League of Legends you must sign up (takes two minutes) then download, but Soldat you just download and play. Of course, these are all online games. I suggest downloading one of the voice chatting programs I mentioned earlier and play with your friends ^-^.

@Light_Devil!: Oh, and the Wii has an internet browser and some very good online games, as well as some that support a voice chat called WiiSpeak. It's a great console for gamers, you just have to know what games to buy. (The Conduit and Super Smash brothers Brawl, namely.)
