Nice work here. I can't draw anime for the life of me, so it's great to see someone who can. I'm going to throw around some things to keep in mind...

> Feet. In the first and last ones, the converses are off-kilter. The feet look twisted, almost as if they're broken and that needs to be remedied.

> Antialiasing. In the ones where you've replaced a background, you need to antialias your work into the picture. Antialiasing is where you 'blend' a subject into it's surroundings so that it doesn't look like a cut out pasted on a picture.

To do this, you'll need an imaging program. Try picnik or photobucket if you're unwilling to download. If you want a downloadable program try Gimp or photofiltre if you don't have one already.

Basically, the gist is zoom in about 75% where you can see pixels. Blur the pixels so that they 'blend' into each other, but not too much where it looks likes your subject is melting. Just enough so that it doesn't looks like it's standing out.

Also try to smudge background colors together. In photoshopping, I usually finish off with a contrast on the whole image to kind of even out everything together. It works well, and I'd recommend you do that, dear.

> Shading. Remember the key points of shading! Basically, there are four spots on a human that should be shaded: Inner legs, inner arm, lower side (one or the other depending on light direction) of abdomen and side of face. Of course there are additional points, but these are important in adding depth to your art.



I really love the third drawing. Excellent work on the bricks behind your subject. Keep up the good work, Maki. Thanks for sharing.

Your artwork is beautiful. Each picture has so much character and energy, they seem truly alive. They make me wonder what the story is behind them, especially the one with the girl in the shadows holding the little knife. Your colors are so bright. It's really amazing.

I think they'd look even better if you cleaned up your lines a bit, so they're not quite as sketchy. You can do this on the computer if you have a tablet or a good photoshop program, or by going over the lines with an ink pen (something not a ballpoint.)

One other thing that you could work on for future drawings is the characters legs. Female legs especially are made up of curved lines. They get small at the ankle, and wider below the knee and at the thigh. A good place to look if you're interested in practicing drawings like this is in a fashion magazine. The models are skinny like manga characters, but most of them still have the human shape. Just something to try.

OH! Almost forgot to add... I am somewhat lazy which explains the sketchy look. I still have the original drawings and I'll probably get them inked (once I get new inking markers T_T so expensive)

This is quite a beautiful piece of work. However, I do have two nitpicks.

Line Quality

I think that I should mention something about how thick and blunt the coloring is. It doesn't seem very realistic. Maybe try shading lighter as you get to a light source. (this can be anywhere in your picture)

Costume

The outfit seems confusing. Cat ears and then sweatshirts?

Other then that, it was a great picture and I suggest you keep drawing!

I just started using shade on my computer program, and I am very bad with it T_T

about the costume, it's an assassin's uniform from the crusades, and well she wanted her alter personality dressed as an assassin
