Hey Rachel!

Welcome to YWS!!! :D

Ok, so you've probably already read 'em, but I'm gonna post the rules anyway. :D

1) Review other peoples work! We have a review ratio of 3:1, so for every literary item that you post, you need to write three reviews. (A review is anything from 250 characters).

2) Rate your work! Members like to know what they're getting themselves into. R if it has the 'F' word or lots of violence.

3) No cht spk or CAPS LOCK! - See, it's annoying isn't it?

4) Make sure you proof read anything you write before you post it, it makes it a lot easier for other people trying to review. :D

4) Be nice! No flaming other members, leave the language for your stories.

And, I think that's it. :D

Now, for the questions...

Paper or computer? Inside or outside? Favourite author? Favourite book? A hobby of yours is...? Favourite band? Favourite TV show? Too many questions?

Happy YWS-ing!!!

PM me if you want anything, or need help, or anything. xD

*Hugs*

~Mo.

Seventeen! You're a young'un!

Hai, I'm Jabber! Feel free to create any sort of nickname you wish. I have half a list on my profile if you need inspiration. But yeah.

Meow Mix is a good thing.

What do you write? I'd love to see one of your works for you! You've definitely come to the write right place for a critique. ;D

I do want to point out one thing that lots of new members don't know about. At the top, you see the Blogs option on the navigation bar? In the drop down menu, if you click Blogs again, you'll see a list of updated blogs from members in YWS. Hope to see yours around soon!

And also, there's a bunch of usergroups or clubs you can join. Go to Groups >> Group Index, and you'll see the entire list. Join some!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. It's what we're here for!

Jabber, the One and Only!
I make my own policies.

Welcome. ^_^ You're the first person I've greeted in a while, so you'll have to excuse me if I skip reading you the rules.

lol. Anyways, you're not old! I'm 18 myself. This is one of the few (but great) sites where both you don't have to feel old because of the collaborative environment.

And lots of people will critique your work, just remember to return the favor! And don't worry if some critiques seem harsh; the more they pick on you the more they're trying to help. ^_^

Anyhow, have fun on the site and good luck with your writing.

^_^ Keek!
I'm like that song stuck in your head; I come and I go, but never truly dissapear.

And apparently I also write a blog.

Hey Rachel (Love that name ^_^ ) Welcome to YWS!
So, before we get chatting I want to clear a few things. You may have seen some members around the site with colors. Some blue, some purple, some green, and some even red. Let me tell you a bit more about these colors and what their usergroup is for :)
The blues are greeters, the people who usually greet newbies like you. Tell them the rules, and other basic information, making them feel welcomed. The purps jobs are to review, review, and review! Usually they are very good at critiques, and try to help members become better writers, and improve! Junior mods and Global mods are like their names. Usually in charge of a specific part of YWS. These guys are who you can count on for any basic questions. Admins are 'The Boss' in charge. Help run the site and know every nook and secret of it. Distinguished members are usually mods that left the site, or don't come on as much anymore.

Alrighty! Now that we have that outta the way, let's get to know you a bit, shall we? : D
What genre do you mostly read\write? I love romance and realistic fiction.
Any specific authors? Books you adore? Any books you reading right now?

PM me for any questions or if you just want to chat! Call me JD also ;)
-JD

Hello Rachel, welcome to YWS! You know, you came to the website for the exact same reason I did! I don't think you'll be disappointed, because it's really a great site. Firstly, if you came here just to get critiques, you're in for a surprise, because YWS has a 3:1 ratio, which means you should critique three works before you post your own. However, you do get one freebie, which means you can post your first work without writing any critiques!

Since everyone filled you in on almost everything, I'll give you a few links which may be helpful.
Will Review for Food
You can post in this forum, asking members to review your stuff.

Nate's FAQ for New Users
A lot of your questions will be answered here.

The Knowledge Base
Here, YWSers have written several articles having to do with everything from writing better stories to writing good critiques.

That's all for right now, so please PM if you have questions, and I'll be looking forward to seeing you around the site! :)
