I've been trying to keep tabs on this for a while, but someone leaked the project earlier today. Only a few people still know, but I figure it's better to do a pre-mature announcement than to let the rumor mill do it for me.

Sometime in January, we will be releasing "YWS: The Complete Edition" in book form (probably for sale on Lulu and Amazon only). The book will contain every thread, every work, everything ever posted on YWS.

First, you have six different parts in the book for the six different categories of YWS. Then within those six parts, it's further divided into the forums. Then by time. In short, it's exactly like browsing YWS, except you're doing it in a book.

Cool, no? All 595,000 posts made on YWS as of October 31, 2009 will be available in the book for easy reading. As you can imagine, this is going to be kind of thick and thus expensive. However, I'm working on making sure it won't be too expensive (I'm hoping for below $100, but we'll see).

A complete YWS in book form? Heck yeah, I'd dish out a hundred bucks for that. I'd need to wait until a bit after the holidays to save up for it, but anything to support YWS. Plus, a YWS book is just far too cool. Will it be one big volume, or six big volumes? Also, do you have any approximate date in January in mind? I imaging it would take you a while to compile such a large number of posts (thus the reason it's taking you two whole months) but if you have a date in mind, that would be really excellent.

Let me know how long I have to save up $100! It shouldn't take long (13-25-year-olds make that much in their sleep) but it'd still be nice to have a date to aim for.

Will you be offering a new edition of the book on Amazon every time a new post is made on the forums? This seems like a very lucrative venture.

Interesting... very interesting... probably not worth it but still, interesting...
Spoiler
I like people thinking that I have something so scandalous to say that I put it in spoiler tags, and I'm sorry that because of this selfish desire you were roped into reading this for not real lasting value.

0o0 Nate, I love you! That is so rad!

I am soooooooo buying 50.

Although, wouldn't it make more sense to just post the literary works, rather than the threads n such, too? I mean, it would be funny/cool to look at, but it wouldn't be as good as an idea of just doing the literary works in my opinion, y'know?

Anyway, I'm all excited now! ^-^

Could you make it with expanding pages? I was going to suggest this when you announced it in the mod forum but didn't get around to it but that would be really cool. Like a map book where every page folds out to fit the full topic and comments in!

Great idea Heather! Expanding pages sounds like a really good idea!

Wow, I'm surprised at the demand. We may need to chop down a rainforest or two just to satisfy demand. Any ideas on what we should call the resulting cleared pasture?
