I hate to say it, but the grammar in the chat room must improve. This is a site for writers so everyone should try to act like one. I'm not asking for perfect grammar, but if it's obvious you're not even trying, then you will be kicked from the chat.
There's been some improvement over the last month, but not a lot.
Guys, the grammar doesn't need to be perfect. But when a chat mod has to repeatedly ask you to do something and you repeatedly ignore the mod, then something is wrong. As a result, I will start enforcing bans from the chat for those who continually make no effort whatsoever to use good grammar. Note that this will only apply to members who've been asked to stop (or start) doing something.
Here's a helpful list of common grammar mistakes: - Capitalization. If you have an 'I' by itself, it needs to be capitalized.
- Chat speak. When we say chat speak on YWS, we don't mean acronyms like 'lol' or smilies. We mean shortening a word, such as 'before' to 'b4'.
- Excessive Punctuation. Typing an exclamation mark or question mark over and over does not express how excited or confused you are. All it expresses is your ability to use a keyboard.
- Apostrophes. If it's a contraction, then you've got to use an apostrophe. Otherwise you've just made up a brand new word.
The above is not a complete list. If you're confused or worried at all, don't be. Just listen to others when they're trying to help you. None of this is meant to punish anyone, but it is meant to help you grow as a writer.
Also, this just made me realize I !!! a lot. *oops*
Never forget who you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.

Haha, as long as it's not an obsessive habit, it's cool. There are people who use triple exclamation marks for practically everything (eg., DittoSwan: XD!!!; LordDucky: OMG!!!; DittoSwan: I no, rite?!!!!), and those who use them seldom.
