Desmond~~

I pushed them farther back through the alley, shooting a zombie at the same time.

"Climb up the ladder onto the roof of the apartment buildings. Follow the red dots until you come to an all white building. Go in through the roof entrance, and find room 204. Here's the key."

They started running, and I dropped the clip from the pistol, sliding in another one. More and more zombies started coming out of the street, running into the alley, blood falling from their lips, with flesh hanging from their teeth. Where were they all coming from? I pulled a pipe bomb from my back pocket and dropped in at my feet. I counted down as I ran up the ladder, barely using my hands.

The zombies were crowding around Spirit, Alex and I. Why were they suddenly popping out? It hadn't been like this before!
"They just got a few more people," Alex whispered, as if she was reading my thoughts. They were surrounding us, Spirit kept shooting, but more kept coming. I knew I had to do something...but what?

*OK people, I'm sorry but I have to say this. The only reason this is getting boring is that nobody is posting!
I mean, take 'xX_white_shadow_Xx' for instance, I posted a comment before and it included her character, the reason it got boring was the fact that she never posted afterwards, so you've got Riders, who was away at the time and was probably waiting for white shadow to post, I on the other hand am stuck waiting for the both of them because I didn't want to double post.
People, if you are waiting for other people to post and it won't mean that you are double posting, then take some initiative and and just post. It's not too much to ask, just post a quick paced, action filled, exiting reply and the storybook will once again be popular and not so boring.
Please, please, don't drop out. You are the ones who made a commitment to stay in the storybook and it's kinda contradictory of yourselves if you quit now. It irritates a huge amount of people, and the only reason they keep it to themselves; they are just too polite to rant about it like me! Oh and if you do want to quit, at least have the courtesy to kill of your character instead of leaving the people with it hanging.*

Emma

I only needed to be nudged once before I started running, though not so fast that the others would lose me, after all they had the guns. They I thought, I still don't know their names...
I shook myself while running, this was no time to be thinking about things as unpractical as names, I halted before the white building so I didn't crash into it, I heard the guy behind us yelling, "Get in!"
The zombies had caught up again and I, the coward did the only thing I could think of at the moment, I pushed the girl beside me into few zombies that had managed to get up the ladder and then found us, time seemed to slow down as they screamed and started biting her arms, her legs, pulling out her hair. I had gotten used to seeing bodies ripped apart, I only at that time felt relieved that they weren't coming after me. The guy I had met earlier ran past me and pulled my arm, that jolted me back into reality and I started running again, starting to sniff. I was starting to give in to my paralysing fear again and I wasn't paying attention to where I was being dragged. When I became aware of my surroundings again, I was sitting on a surprisingly comfortable sofa, the guy staring at me intently.

I started running, but tripped over..something. I couldn't quiet see it in the dark, and I didn't think I Wanted to. I tried to get back up again, but just then a zombie found me. I held my breath and tried to move as little as possible. 'Maybe it won't notice me...' Just then it screamed and jumped on me. I tried to move, but it was stronger than me. The stench was so so incredible I felt tears streaming down my face. I screamed as loud as I could, but gagged and threw up. I started crying in earnest now, my father's death flashing before my eyes. I didn't want to go like that. A bloody mess of bones by the end. I tried to get out from under it again, but a sharp pain in my back stopped me. The..thing squealed and the pain in my back intensified ten-fold. I didn't want to die by the arm-stump of a zombie. I just couldn't...

Desmond~~

I sat both of the girls down on the sofa and put some food in the microwave. A small gas powered generator hummed quietly in one corner, next to boxes of camping food, and military grade MRE's. There was a metal gun rack and three book shelves, all full of "how to's". Other than that the main room also doubled as a kitchen, with a microwave hooked up to the generator, and a small propane stove set on top of the real one. The water didn't work so I filled up two fifty gallon drums with purified rain water. It wouldn't last forever, but it was good for probably the rest of the year. There was a small bathroom, which also didn't work, so I had made a composting toilet, and the bedroom, which was where I slept. It had even more books.

The small apartment had been unoccupied before the zombies had taken over, and it was several stories above the street, and since the windows were shuttered, no zombie would ever get in, on the rare chance that they saw or heard anything.

The microwave buzzer went off and I threw a bag of pop corn to the girls, "Eat it. It'll make you feel better. Seeing guts strewn all over a building wall aren't good for ones stomach."

"You seem fine."

"I've done my fair share of spilling- and some of that on live people."

"You killed people?" She rose, making as if to leave.

I pulled the sleeve back on my right arm, revealing the red seal tattooed there, "Military. Navy seal. Oh, and the names Desmond. What about you, what did you do before the zombies?"

Emma

"Like I said before, my names Emma, I was an ordinary high schooler." I stuffed my mouth with pop corn, not worrying about the other girl. I turned back to Desmond, "Is this place zombie proof?"
"Yeah."
I sighed in relief, and turned to him, "Why did you save me?"
He looked at me, confused.
"You do realise that I will probably end up getting you killed, that's the kind of person I am. You might say that it's what anyone would have done but not me, had our places been reversed, you would have been abandoned long ago," I looked down, frustrated, "We are at a complete disadvantage against the zombies, they have larger numbers, they are stronger, and they are evolving it won't be long befo-"
I was stunned by the large crack of some one slapping me across the face. I looked up

AAH! Whiteshadow, I missed your pst, just say we saved you. No need to die unless you want to, then we might as well stop the story...
