Krissy - Neptune

Her mother was about to reply when a high-pitched whistling noise came from her bedroom. Krissy frowned. "Sounds like an emergency transmission." She turned and hurried back into the bedroom, hearing her mother follow.

There was a large mirror hanging on the wall, emitting the whistle. She placed her hand on the mirror. It wouldn't leave fingerprints. Words appeared on the glass. She read them quickly. "Oh my."

Krissy thought fast. If Pluto lost to Andromea, her planet would be next. Also, she was rather fond of her sister and neighbor.

We will help.

She touched the glass again, causing it to fill with a white mist. The mist faded and she saw the military commander, looking at her with a confused expression. "What is it my queen?"

"Rebis, Pluto is being attacked by Andromea. We have to help them. We'll be next if Pluto falls. Get some people together and get over there." He tried to protest, but Krissy held up her hand. "Rebis, that's an order. Do not disobey me." He nodded and touched his forehead.

"Yes my queen." His image disappeared.

Krissy turned to her mother. "What are you going to do mother? I have to help Nera. You can stay here if you wish, or come with me."
Just another quack spouting psychobabble.

*Nera-Pluto*

I arrived back on my planet in record time, half an hour. I looked in horror as I saw warriors from Andromeda attacking my people.

I ran inside my palace to gather my weapons. I grabbed a two swords and two laser guns and ran back out onto the grounds that were being attacked. I killed two guards immediately, and three more rushed me. I killed them quickly and pushed forward. I needed to find my general, Mikas. I saw him soon enough, stabbing an enemy with a cruel smile on his lips.

"Mikas!" I roared. He looked over at me and came to me at once. "What the hell is going on?"

"One would have thought it obvious, My Queen." he laughed. He turned to fight another soldier before the soldier fell soon after. "The Milky Way is under attack."

I fought for a few moments before replying. "Do you have scouts out?"

"Of course. This is the last wave of attack that we can see so far. There are only about fifty more left, and that shouldn't be too difficult to finish off."

It wasn't. After another hour of fighting, we were victorious, and not too many of our people were killed.

I went inside and summoned up a conference meeting. I looked at some of the mirrors that were covered in dust. Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, and the Sun. I hadn't talked to or seen those rulers in over a thousand years. I can't exactly say that I'm choked up about it though.

Soon, everyone was there, looking at me expectantly. A lump in my throat formed when I saw everyone, but I didn't let it show.

"Our galaxy is under attack by the Andromeda Galaxy." I stated.

A few eyes went wide and I heard a few gasps, but I continued. "My planet went under attack only hours ago, but we were victorious. One of the Andromedans had a loose tongue when threatened with a little pain. He told us that Carimanus has inherited the throne in Andromeda."

"What?" shouted Brystine. "What happened to Marcutio?"

"The rumor is that Carimanus killed him for control. He now has it, and now he wants to broaden his horizons. The snake is going to go after all of our planets. Supposedly, what just happened on my planet is fodder compared to what they have in store." I paced restlessly around the floor.

"I don't understand it." Krissy said. "The Andromedans were peaceful people. Why start a glaxtical war now?"

"I do not know, but we need to find out, and fast. Someone needs to tell Sunshine to start using those social skills and see if she can do anything to stop this before it gets out of hand." I looked at everyone. "Start preparing, but don't do anything against Andromeda yet. Just make sure that you have scouts looking out and make sure your armies are prepared." I tried to smile. "If anyone has a few to spare, that would be much appreciated."

Everyone murmured their thanks and we were disconnected. Only then did I collapse on the floor and start to cry.
We're all a bit mad...

BRYSTINE - EARTH

That was the final straw. Brystine watched poor Nera fade away. She wanted to talk to her a little longer, but the poor girl was so stressed.

"Don't worry Nera," Brystine whispered to the blank mirror. "You were the first planet attacked, but I will be sure nothing like this ever happens again."

Nera was, perhaps, the only person she had ever grown fond of. If Pluto was under attack, Brystine would fight back with Nera as if it were her own Earth under attack. And, eventually, it might be.

"Miss. Brystine," Caroline, Winston's 'replacement', asked.

"What is it?" She growled. Coraline shrunk into the wall a little. Brystine rolled her eyes. Eventually the human would grow some sort of a backbone against her. She didn't want her to be a total wimp.

"Well, we've finished cleaning up and security has been raised ten fold," Coraline smiled, slightly.

Brystine nodded. "Fine, fine. Look, Coraline, I'm going to need you to step it up a little. You worked with Winston. Just act as he did. Now I'm headed off somewhere and I want hourly reports. It'll be dangerous for me to leave Earth, but I need to go."

"Where are you going Miss. Brystine," Coraline asked, right as Brystine was about to leave.

"To Pluto," she responded.

The sun goddess Kayla - Neptune

She frowned when she heard the news. She shook her head. In her eyes all life was the same, all was worth much more then gold could buy. She looked up at Krissy. She locked eye contact with her.

For the first time since she arrived her smile had faded, it had changed into a face of deep concern. “I will help my daughter. I will not help any one of my children in a war.” She turned around.

Krissy seemed to understand that. Kayla stood there silent for a moment. “Well, come on, get into the spacecraft!” She looked over her shoulder at Krissy. Her face was almost a scowl. She couldn’t bear someone trying to harm her child.

Krissy lead her to the spacecraft. Kayla looked up. It would do. She climbed aboard. Once she was actually on board she followed Krissy. “I’d like to make sure that you’re in a safe place-“ She held her hand up. “No, I am staying with you.”

Kayla just nodded. What else could she do?
All I can hear; "I me mine, I me mine, I me mine". Even those tears; "I me mine, I me mine, I me mine". No one's frightened of playing it. Everyone's saying it. Flowing more freely than wine. All through your life; "I me mine".

Krissy climbed into the pilot's chair and strapped herself in, seeing her mother do the same in the chair to her right.

She gripped the two joysticks and lifted them off effortlessly. "I've sent some troops ahead. They should get there a few minutes before us." They shot through the atmosphere like a bullet from one of the weapons that Earth's people called 'guns'.

She handled the controls expertly, and they were above Pluto in less than ten minutes. She landed the ship and opened the door, walking down the ramp.

It looked like she had been the fisrt to arrive. Missles fell from the sky and exploded when it impacted the earth. People were in a panic, running around mindlessly. Buildings were in ruins. Krissy saw Nera stumbling towards her. She had obviously been crying.

Krissy hurried forward as Nera fell into her arms. "They're killing everyone." Nera sobbed. Krissy lifted her up, forcing her to stand on her own two feet. "It's all right Nera, we're going to help your people."

Nera just sobbed into her shoulder.

The sun goddess Kayla – Pluto

She looked at Nera, laying on the ground. Being lifted up by Krissy. Now was not the time to say hello. No, now was the time to take care of her. “We need to get her somewhere safe.” Kayla looked around uneasily.

Something about the planet looked rather odd. Something was wrong, Kayla could see that through all the death. She shook her head. She couldn’t place what was wrong, so she shrugged. She tired to ignore it.

Her gaze caught something else. It was some kind of light. Something that shared the brightness of the sun—from a distance. Yet it wasn’t the sun. It was a distant, mid air explosion.

She looked to Krissy, dragging the Nera. Kayla had never been on the scene of a battle before. So much blood. Everything was going so slowly for her. She started moving towards the ship and motioned for Krissy to follow.

Once they were both safely inside she felt everything return to it’s normal speed. She knelt down next to Nera, whom was now on the floor. “Are you alright?” She looked into her eyes. Once more she had a smile on her face.

Krissy seemed to be mildly confused by her smile. Kayla then looked up at Krissy. “She’s alive, that’s all I need.” She spoke in such a way--t was an answer to a question that hadn’t been asked.

She looked back down at Nera. She continued to smile. She was alive, what more could she need?
All I can hear; "I me mine, I me mine, I me mine". Even those tears; "I me mine, I me mine, I me mine". No one's frightened of playing it. Everyone's saying it. Flowing more freely than wine. All through your life; "I me mine".

*Nera-Pluto*

When I really cleared my head, the first thing I saw was Krissy. Then, I realized where I was.

"No!" I shouted. "You have to take me back! Take me back!"

Krissy looked at me worriedly. "You almost died out there, Nera. We don't want that to happen."

"Krissy, that is my planet, my people. They're dying." I hissed.

She looked away from me. I could tell she realized what she was doing. "Please Krissy, those are my people. They need me, now more than ever."

She looked back up at me. "Alright. We'll take you back, but we're staying with you."

"We?" That's when I noticed my mother sitting in the drivers seat. Anger boiled in my blood. "Take me back, Sunshine."

She didn't look back at me, so I said it louder. "Take. Me. Back!"

She cringed, and when Krissy put her hand on her shoulder, I saw a tear roll down her face, but she turned the ship around. I breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you."

I needed to help my people, and I would do it at all costs.

Iden decided to call his brother. Kronos wasn't his favorite sibling, by far, but he was perhaps the easiest to talk to. A little dribble of how the planets where, maybe some gossip about the humans...it was simple enough. He touched his mirror, and thought about Kronos. When all the mirror did was flash red, he tried calling Nera. She didn't answer either. Finally, he tried his least favorite sister, Brystine. When she didn't answer, he knew something was wrong. He ran out of his library, down the hall, and into Elmerie's quarters. "Elmerie, could yo-" He stopped dead in his tracks when he found his favorite maid dead on the floor. He turned around and dashed down the halls into the kitchen.

"Lukas!" He yelled for his head chef (who just happened to be his daily gossip column). "Lukas, Elmerie is dead!" Slowly, Marikit walked out from behind a doorway. "Hello, my lord." She said to him, smiling cruelly. "Have you seen Elmerie lately? I needed to ask her for a favor." Only then did Iden notice the wickedly curved blade in her hand, still wet with blood. Realization dawned on him with a horrible clarity. "You," he said slowly. "You are the reason the other planets are not answering." She laughed again, a light, amused sound. "Yes, my lovely. You and your plain little family are under attack, and we will destroy you. By the way, so sorry about your dear little sister, Nera. She would have been a perfect wife for you." And then she ran down the halls, screaming with joy.

The sun goddess Kayla – Pluto

She scowled at her. She narrowed her eyes. Take me back sunshine?! She doesn’t speak to me like that! She stood up and walked over to her. She looked down at the girl, laying on the ground. She looked down at her. Then back up at Krissy. “She’s not going back out.”

Krissy was puzzled by this. “But-“ Kayla took a step towards Krissy. She locked eye contact with her. “We’re leaving, with her on board. I said I would help her not fight a war.” She turned around and pressed a button on the cockpit. This shut the doors before Nera could get up and out.

She returned to Nera and sat her up against a wall. She looked for any injuries that first aid could treat. She smiled once more. She gently patted Neras head. She couldn’t stay mad. “You can’t run from me.” She grinned.

She started to dress some of the minor wounds. “Set course for Earth.” She spoke directly towards Krissy. Krissy nodded, fearing her mothers scorn. She started to get the ship running.

Nera struggled, but found it rather painful. Kayla, keeping her smile, kept her from moving. “You’re coming with us. You aught to know that when your mum comes with your sister, you’re not going anywhere.” She smiled.

Nera scowled at her. “Fine.” Kayla loved the odd faces her children made. The faces of hate, that she knew, was only out of love. Krissy had started the ship, and there was no going back now.

“I’d advise strapping in… in a war zone ships tend to get hit out of the air.” Nera was mumbling something under her breath. It stopped when Kayla put some rubbing alcohol on an open wound.

*Nera-Pluto*

I was shaking with rage, and I hissed when Sunshine put rubbing alcohol on one of my wounds. How could she do this to me? Did she not understand that I had to stay on my planet? Protect my people?

I glared at her. "Give me my looking glass."

She scowled at me. "I know I raised you with manners, young lady." she said, turning her attention back to a wound on my head. She glanced into my eyes briefly, and then murmured, "And don't call me Sunshine ever again, do you understand me?"

I jerked away from her. "Forgive me for forgetting my manners when you are practically holding me hostage and keeping me away from my people!"

Her lips tightened, but she said nothing. I looked into my looking glass, and sent a message to Mikas. He answered immediately.

"Where are you?" he demanded.

"Apparently, my mother feels that I should not be aiding my people in their time of need." I replied with an icy tone.

He frowned. "You are needed here, My Queen."

I hated the tears that gathered in my eyes. "I know, Mikas, I know." I sighed. "But right now, I'm injured, and can't fight off and get myself back there. I trust you, Mikas. I'm putting you into first command until I get back. I trust you will make the right decisions."

He nodded, his handsome face solemn. "I will, My Queen."

And then the looking glass went dark.

BRYSTINE

It didn't take her long at all to arrive on Pluto.

"Nera!" Brystine yelled. It was silent, though. Where was the girl?

"She'll be here in a second," another voice sounded. Brystine stiffened. It was Kayla he 'mother.'

"Hello," Brystine replied, coldly. "What are you doing here?"

"Looking after my daughter," her mother smiled. "And you?"

"Looking after my best friend. Personally I think I've done a better job than you," Bry spit out.

Kayla's eyes widened but Nera tore into the room.

"Brystine?" She asked. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"

Brystine strode past her mother and wrapped Nera in a huge hug. "Sorry. I knew that you needed me though, so here I am."

Kronos - Saturn

He ran to his chamber with his head reeling. Attacked? Why?
Shaking away his questions, Kronos decided to focus on the task in hand. He would call his brothers and sisters to find out what was going on.
His first thought was Iden, although not his closest sibling, Iden and he did communicate regularly. But he wouldn't have the answers Kronos needed.
So he called Nera, hoping that she had prevailed and her mirror was at hand.
He leant over the large pool and murmured her name.
He had almost lost hope, the pool had remained still for such a long time, when eventually her face appeared in the water. Next to her were Krissy, Brystine... and their mother!
Kronos almost laughed, she was the reason Nera had tried to leave Pluto!
He leant forwards and gripped the rocks around the pool.
"Nera! What is happening? Do you need help?"
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."

Kaon – Mercury

The screen slowly faded back to the shifting information that it usually portrayed, the face of one of his traders disappearing. With a command from Kaon, it shifted again, showing images and statistics from the beleaguered Pluto.

“That damned Carimanus…” He growled, pacing the circular chamber, “Once again, Lian, I am reminded that even the most delicately wrought plans, having taken every plausible event into account, can be ruined if an all too ambitious idiots overestimates his own strength.”

Lian seemed as concerned by the news as he was, “You’ll have to rush the project ahead, then, won’t you?”

He scoffed, stopping in his walking, “No, it wouldn’t do to unveil things so soon, nor to put lives in danger by trying to speed it up. Until it is ready, everything must proceed as normal. If the Andromedans last longer than expected, then I doubt I’ll have any choice. But…perhaps it will give Brystine a thing or two to thing about before acting against me.”

“You trust her to wait that long?” Lian asked, the unspoken question hanging between them: What if she attacks us while we’re still at war with Andromeda?

“Not at all.” Kaon replied. “But we can only hope.”

Lian nodded, “I shall ensure that the soldiers are prepared to face…Andromeda, then. As soon as possible.”

“Thankyou. But ensure that they do not attack unless first fired upon. Our population isn’t as great as, say, Jupiter or Saturn. I believe it would be best if we simply provided defensive aid to Pluto for the time being.” He paused for a moment, “Also, reassign the engineers who were to join the moon project. Send them to Pluto as well. I’m sure that Nera would appreciate efforts to rebuild as much as she would having soldiers on her planet.”

He looked back to the main portion of the waterfall, thinking of Iden. He didn’t know how many of the planets were aware of the situation, and so he’d need to check that they were all ready to provide aid. The mercury blinked red, making Kaon frown. That meant that there was something wrong with the connection between Mars and Mercury. He shared a look with Lian, who simply shrugged. “The waterfall has been working perfectly of late.” She said.

“That’s right…” Kaon reached his decision quickly, efficiently, as always. “Split the group – send half our ships to Pluto as planned. I will go with the others to Mars. The connection has been broken, and I fear that Carimanus has attacked there as well.”

*Nera-Pluto*

I watched as workers from Mercury landed on the space strip. It had been a few hours since Sunshine finally relented in letting me come back to my planet. Mikas was a little disappointed, but he got over it. Now, many people were coming to my planet, something that is appreciated, but not necessarily the smartest thing. If all of the leaders were here, then there was no one to take care of their own planet. What if that was what Carimanus wants...

"Nera?" Brystine's voice brought me out of my thoughts. "Are you going to go in?"

"I will, as soon as I tell Mortious what I want done with the reconstruction." I replied, smiling weakly. "You can go on ahead in, if you would like."

"Ner." Her voice was concerned. "You have to get some sleep. You've done so much-"

"I am doing what I'm supposed to do as a leader." I said, cutting her off. "I cannot rest until the needs of my people are seen to."

I could tell that she understood, and she nodded, saying nothing more, and she went back into the palace.

I ran around some more, making sure that everything was taken care of. So far, the area around my planet and my moon was peaceful, and most of those who had died had been given proper burial. The reconstruction was already beginning, so finally, I was able to go back into the palace, and sleep.
