Hayley Lane
"Well if it isn't Miss Hayley Lane," a familiar voice said.
Lane turned to see Landon Carter with a young girl and his beloved dog at his side. Lane couldn't help but smile a little. Landon had been her friend for a long time, one of the first people she got used to being around. *if that's okay!*
"Hello Landon," she greeted.
"When did you return from Italy?" he asked.
"Just this morning."
Landon laughed. "And Malcolm already has you back to work. Good to see you, Lheah."
Lane nodded, and Lheah waved. Lane looked over the child beside Landon. She now recognized her to be Alayna. Lane couldn't believe she hadn't recognized her. "You've grown up, Miss Alayna."
A huge smile made its way to the childs face. "I'm going to be a Hero soon! Just like you and daddy!"
Lane nodded. "Train hard and someday you will,"
Landon and Alayna said goodbye and made their way through the training room. Lane turned back to Lheah. "So, your powers are purely mind based," she mused. Then why on earth would Malcolm assign Lane to her. It's not like Lane had any actual "powers". "We'll start training today. Meet me in the field near the Academics Center in an hour."
And with that Lane turned and left the building. She had just enough time to try to figure out some sort of training regime for this girl who was nearly the opposite of herself.
Danny Steele
The Hero Program Facility was buzzing with activity again at last. Danny was overjoyed. Many of the past heroes were back at the facility, or at least visiting.
Danny ran around with a bunch of the younger beginners, playing games and generally having fun. It was a beautiful day in the compound. One of those days that made Danny happy that he could live there and not back in the streets of New York City like he had for so many years.
"Alayna!" Danny shouted as he recognized Mr. Carter's daughter. "Alayna, you're finally here!"
Alayna smiled and waved, then turned to her father and asked something. Danny had already been a part of the program for a year, and was still considered to be at beginner status. He had met Alayna through her father and since the typical age for recruitment into the program was six, had to wait a year to see her at the school.
Mr. Carter smiled and nudged Alayna towards us. She ran over with a big smile on her face. "Hi, Danny!" she said.
"We're playing tag, want to join?" Danny asked.
*oh, childhood innocence *daydreams*
