Justin~

I had followed Fury ever since he found me,and I had respected him, but all my respect faded away today. His actions got most of my team and his team killed. And for what, none of these morlocks had the battle experience to do much more then hide. My own anger made me dizzy and I sat down. Ella also had limited healing abilities and was going around doing the best she could.

The girl I suspected had caused to turn in tide came over to me.

"You're Justin right?"

"Yes," I said

"I'm Kara and Fury ordered us to search for supplies," she said when she reached me.

I looked at the girl she seemed to be close to my age, and normal looking besides her light blue hair. Which meant she wasn't a natural morlock.

I nodded. "What's your power," I asked.

"I can conduct electricity," she said.

"Hum interesting, blue hair, blue eyes can conduct electricity. Are you related to Storm."

"She was my mother," Kara said.

"Oh, well then I guess we share something. My mother was Rogue, and my father Gambit. That makes us both descendants to the X-men." I said.

She nodded. "Well let's go look for those supplies," she said.

I gave one last dirty look at Magneto as we started to look for supplies. Then I looked at Fury.

Kara

Kara was intrigued by Justin. He looked much different than the people she saw every day. He was also the first person around her age that she had met in several years other than Malcolm, and he hadn't talked much. A lump rose in her throat. If Malcolm hadn't taken that bullet I wouldn't be here right now. She thought.

She swallowed and shook her head, trying to think about something else. She motioned to Justin to follow her and hurried through the water, wincing in pain. She was heading to the storerooms. She heard Justin behind her.

A minute later she ducked into a smaller tunnel that sloped slightly upwards. There was a wooden door a little ways in. Kara jiggled the knob experimentally. It was locked.

She sighed and shifted her weight into a stance, putting her arms into a guard position. "Stand back." She heard Justin take several steps backwards. She closed her eyes, breathing deeply.

When she opened them again there was a steely determination in her eyes. She kicked the door, causing it to splinter and break. She groaned in pain, but bit her tongue halfway through. She straightened and walked inside. "These are our stores for emergency only. I think this counts." Kara said. There were several crates, all extremely dusty. She pried the lid off of one of the crates, sneezing as dust filled the air.

The box was empty, give or take a couple crumbs. She groaned. "Rats again." She replaced the lid. She opened the rest of them, with some help from Justin. In the end only four crates had anything usable. She sighed. "I was hoping for more than that."

Susan Storm~

It had been only days since they had learned of their dear friend, Ben’s demise. It had hit her husband the hardest out of all of them. That was the day she had decided it was no longer safe, no longer safe for her son to stay with her. She had told him to use his powers and to dimension travel. She had to keep him safe; he was the most important thing in her life. She missed him terribly, but at least she knew he was OK. She had been hiding out in a cabin in the mountains with Reed for the last three weeks, avoiding all conflict. But it had gotten so bad lately...

She thought as she walked. She bound up onto the porch and pushed the screen door open, calling out her husband’s name. No answer.

"Reed?"

Walking across the hardwood floor, she peered around the tiny four room cabin. The boards creaked beneath her weight, as she moved from the main kitchen/living room to their bedroom. She was shocked; Reed's body lay on the ground, a pool of blood trailed from a hole in his head.

“Oh my god!!! Reed!!!"

She knelt by his body, trying to feel for a pulse. Her fingers met his cold clammy skin, and she knew...he was gone. Next to the bed there was a notebook, a suicide note for her to find. It was short, written quickly in Reed's flowing handwriting.

"Sue, you know how much I love you. I always have. Tell Frank I'm sorry. I'm so sorry Susie. I love you; I love you both so much…please remember me for the man that I was. I love you.
~Reed

He had been so upset by the news of Ben's death; he told her he felt responsible. She never thought he would do something so drastic. She stared long and hard at the letter, as if it would bring him back to her. But she knew it wouldn't, she had to bury him...She laughed ironically at the thought, never ever thinking she would have to bury her husband, alone, in the mountains.

It took her an hour to dig a shallow grave, as she threw the earth over him, she let herself cry freely. As she packed down the last shovel full, she fell to her knees. Through her tears she made a vow.

"I promise Reed, I promise I will not stop until the Friends of Humanity have paid for what they have done. I swear if it’s the last thing I do."

She took a small handful of dirt, held it to her heart, and threw it to the ground. It was as if she was letting him go. Standing up and turning around, she brushed away her tears.

Enough hiding. It was time to fight back.

Nick Fury

Those words stung, he was a soldier, but the war wasn't over until all resistance died down. He'd let Shield fall, he wouldn't give in until the President was facing his barrel with no one to save him.

Was no place safe from them, the morlocks were mostly peaceful mutants who ignored most major human conflicts, why attack them now, made no sense, what was the big head thinking?

President Grant Hannigan

"My friends, I come forward with words of great tidings, the mutant scum in the underground are all but extinct and I promise by my terms end, no one will even know the words mutants."

Grant smirked switching off the tv, it was all going according to plan, and soon humanity would be unable to stand against the force of Friends of Humanity. The plague and unfortunate diease of the planet would be gone soon.

He heard a knock and sighed.

"Yes, Mr Essex?"

"My name isn't Essex, Hannigan you know that."

"Of course, but people can't know you're part of my staff."

"Okay Grant, we'll play it your way, for now."

Kara and I came back with very little to show for our work, when we got there Magneto seemed to ave regained his strength. With that are now small group of morlocks a Fury's men begin to move to find a new hideout.

I still didn't like that we were helping Magneto, but it wasn't my call.

"Ella contact Natasha, we need transportation, and a hideout" I said.

Ella nodded and closed her eyes.

"That's an amazing power you have there," said Nick Fury. "But I've never seen you before. Who are you?"

Ash sighed. "My name is Ash." He didn't like sharing his name with anyone, but they were in the same situation and he had to have them trust him. After the Friend's of Humanity found out how he ran his theivery business they had attempted to kill, and all his contacts were either human and too afraid to comtact him, or mutant and currently dead or detained.

"Ash what?"

"Just Ash, I don't have a last name. My parents were dead before I got to know them, and no one would tell me who or what they were." He pulled out the new gun he acquired, causing Nick to bring up his gun in surprise.

"Put the weapon away!"

Ash smiled, his white teeth glittering in the semi-darkness. He knelt down and stuffed the gun into his boot and stood up. "Nice to meet you."

Kara

Kara looked around at the tunnel. It was utter carnage. What's going to happen to us now? It would take years to rebuild this, and on top of that Friends of Humanity know where we are. She shook her head. It was best not to think about the future yet. What was going on at present was much more important.

She walked over to the still motionless Magneto. She had heard a lot about him, and nothing had been good. She knew that she should probably hate him, due to the history between her mother and him, but oddly enough she didn't. She knelt down next to him. He was obviously alive, but he had barely made it. "That's an impressive power you've got there." She said quietly. He stirred and opened his eyes.

"Wanda?"

She shook her head. "No, I'm Kara."

Magneto

Stirring, his eyes eased open, and he saw her, Wanda, but how? Did it matter? Leaping up he called her name out, "Wanda!"

Wanda face turned to alarm as she cried out "No, I'm Kara."

Magneto stopped and blinked and sighed, the girl was right. He climbed up carefully, avoiding tripping over his cape. The scene was utter chaos as the water leaked from the ceiling and blood decorated far walls. Stood around him were faces, only few he recognized was Nick Fury and was that Gambit, no the eyes were the same. It couldn't be? But of course the son of that bond, what power that child must have.

"Magneto... why?"

Nick Fury had just spoke, "They killed morph live on TV. I need to get out of my depress state and help you all. It's time to fight."

The offspring of Gambit then spoke, "How do we know we can trust you?"

"You don't. But mutants are fast becoming an endangered spieces. We must work together."

"He's right." Kara said quietly. They all turned to look at her. "If Magneto hadn't showed up we'd all be dead right now. If we don't help each other we'll all be destroyed." She looked at Justin. "I know you hate him, and that I probably should too, but can you at least try to get along? Please? What's going on right now is more important than family history."

Justin narrowed his eyes and said nothing.

Magneto was looking at Kara with a slightly confused expression. "Are we connected in some way?"

Kara nodded. "Storm was my mother."

"Was?"

"Yes. She disappeared three years ago." She felt some unwelcome emotions coming to the surface. She pushed them down quickly, but not before some grief flashed onto her face.

"Ororo Munroe is dead? How is that possible...?" Magneto looked shocked. "Then, we need to round up the remaining ones hiding out."

"I may not trust him, but he's right." Justin said.

Name: Joan Joimyn

Age: She turned 12 three days ago.

Description:
Her skin is dark brown, it shines blue in light. The shining is caused by a thick layer of ice over her skin that never fades unless it is over 75 degrees. Her hair goes halfway down her head in the back, in the front it goes down to her collar bone. It is naturally ice blue. Her eyes are bright blue, and a closer look shows that her eyes have the texture of ice shards. Her lips are also naturally blue, and shiny. Her fingernails and toenails are both the same color, and shine, like her lips. She has a shirt with a large collar that sticks out about three inches, and the shirt has sleeves that are longer then her arms. They cover her hands halfway. It is tight until it gets to her hands, at which point it gets baggy. Her shirt has six buttons going down the front side, the buttons are slightly to the left of the center line. She has a fairly tight skirt that goes down just above her knees. It has a slit about an inch high. She wears blue and white striped socks that go up above her knees. She also wears black boots that go up to under her knee. Her skirt is black, the shirt is blue, and the buttons are black.

Personality: A rather shy girl, one that doesn’t like to talk, nor trust people. She heard rumors that people were after her, thus causing her to freak. She deeply wants someone to take the role of a brother.

Power: Control over ice, she cannot create it herself so she uses the layer on her skin, and can regenerate this layer. She can also make snow, but not clouds, or snowstorms. Just random snow. She can also grow a set of wings made entirely of ice that extend from her back, these wings work well. She also envied wolverine quite a bit, and figured out that she could make claws like wolverine, and she learned how to use them.

History: When she first found out about her powers she was six. She had been reading about the mutant news. She heard about one known as wolverine. This mutant had huge claws. She wished that she had wolverine claws that could extend. Sure enough they did. She was laying on her brother, and when the claws extended they pierced his heart. She sobbed when she realized that she had killed him. He didn’t die until he was in the ER but she knew he was doomed right away. She didn’t come out of her room for three months, her parents took food and water into her. Once she finally came out she didn’t speak until she was nine. During this time she improved her handwriting quite a bit, from that she has very readable handwriting.
At the age of ten she started speaking again, this was only because her family got her a councilor. This councilor didn’t let her take in a notepad or pen. So she could only talk. She saw this woman for about a year, at which point she got angry, she had gotten deep into emotion with her, and they finally got down to the hate for herself that she grew after killing her brother. Sadly this hate fueled her to kill her own mother and father, and the councilor. This happened the same way as her brother. She didn’t get punished though. She just left after she did this. She felt guilty, and to punish herself she got herself a part time job in one of the main ice cream shops in Seattle. Seattle was of course several miles from where she lived, she slept in the back room once the shop closed.
She worked for a year, and she got herself a full time job after she had been caught sleeping in the back room. She lives happily, they put in a bed back there for her while they wondered if one of them should adopt her or not. They’re not sure what to do with her other then let her work.
While in the back room she practiced on using her powers, she found she could do a whole lot more then use wolverine claws.
Sure enough, days ago she had been found by one of the Morlocks. They told her of others like her, this interested her. She decided to follow along. She left a fair-well note to those in the ice cream shop. When she arrived she found that there was an attack on this place. She didn't mind though. It would be home, interesting.

Relationships (Family, Friends, etc.): She has grown rather attached to the workers in the ice cream shop. She thinks of them as her adopted family, though she has no real family or friends.

Location: With the Morlocks

Joan

I felt like I had come in at a bad time. There was talk of a dead mother. I felt awkward. They had also been talking about finding others… more like me? Were they like me. I shook where I stood. I was having a hard time working up the courage to speak. They hadn’t seen me yet. But they were about to notice me. I looked and saw that it had started snowing. I shut my eyes tightly and looked down at my feet. They noticed the snow, and looked over at me. I felt her smile, a warmth washed over me. There was also a colder feeling. Someone else was looking at me. Someone… a tad bit eviler.
“Hello there…”
This person was young, but she sounded like she was in charge. I was silent, I still hadn’t worked up the courage to speak. I know I would have to soon enough.
“My name is Kara, what’s your name.”
That was it. I was finished, never in my life had I not replied when someone, or something asked me my name.
“I’m Joan, and I’m a freak.”
Kara kept smiling, though I felt a small wall go up between the two of us. She lifted my head up, and didn’t let me look back down.
“You’re not a freak.”
I shook my head. If anyone knew what I could do… other then the snow… they would consider me a freak no doubt.
“Yeah, how so?”
Kara was silent. She didn’t seem to have an answer. Though I had no doubt that she’d think of one. I partly hoped she didn’t, I was starting to believe her.
“We’re all special here. With special talents.”
I nodded. That made sense. They had picked me up randomly. They didn’t mention my abilities at all, but they said it was a school for the gifted. Up until now I had assumed that they were hosting some kind of school for kids with no future. No, now I understood.
“What else can you do Joan.”
Ack, she had said my name. I felt something shift within me. Something felt wrong when she said my name. Then I realized what it was. I hadn’t been called Joan for ages. Mostly I had been addressed by my last name.
“I make ice sculptures.”
It was a hint at my powers, but I was wary to openly say everything about me.
All I can hear; "I me mine, I me mine, I me mine". Even those tears; "I me mine, I me mine, I me mine". No one's frightened of playing it. Everyone's saying it. Flowing more freely than wine. All through your life; "I me mine".

**Changing PoVs. Hope this doesn't cause too much confusion.**

Kara

Joan seemed reluctant to tell me much about her. I didn't really mind. She would share when she was ready. "What can you do?" Joan asked.

"Me? I can make electricity. I can show you, but it won't be much. That battle completely wiped me out." I held out my hand, palm-up. I had to concentrate very hard, but suddenly a crackling orb of electricity appeared, floating just inches from my skin. I smiled at Joan's startled expression. "You can touch it if you like."

She looked at me in wonder. "Will it hurt?" I shook my head. She stuck out her hand and ran it through the orb. Her expression became surprised again. I laughed. "It tingles doesn't it?" She nodded. I pulled the electricity back into my body. "I can do much more than that, but like I said, I'm tired."

Joan

I grinned. This person was interested. She watched with awe as the electricity went back into her body. The snow became heavier, but with a lighter spirit behind it. At this point I felt safe, so I was willing to tell her what I knew.
“So all you can do is make ice sculptures?”
I shook my head, I kept a smile on my face. I looked up and found the snow moving in a circular motion.
“I can’t control the snow, but that’s me. Also I can do what I want with ice.”
I was smiling, then I remembered my brother. The only person whom I really loved. Sure my parents I loved too, but my brother was the one I loved more then anything. In my eyes I showed sorrow. I wiped my eyes in a failed attempt to hide my sorrow.
“So um… am I going to be sleeping in this place?”
I rubbed my eyes again. I was suffering from jet lag, and thus I was rather tired.
“Yes, we may move. But you have a room.”
She lead me down a hallway, around a bed, up an elevator, around a few more turns, and into a room. I was on the fifth room. There were two beds in this room. Both didn’t look like they had been used.
“Feel free to meet any of the others.”
I nodded. I didn’t want to be away from this girl. I stayed close to her.
“Can I please stay with you? I-I don’t want to be alone for a while.”
Kara smiled, then she nodded.
“Why not?”
Together we walked out of the room, I resisted the temptation to grab onto her hand. But after a few minutes I did. I’m not sure why I did it… it’s just something inside me told me that she was safe. I was much to old to be holding onto peoples hands, but I felt… insecure.
