The sound of rapid gunfire filled the air, and the soldier holding the gun keeled over, dead. In his place was a tall man, wearing an eyepatch and holding a machine gun. "Kid, get out here, you don't need to fight this battle!" Kara shook her head quickly.
"I have to help!" She replied. A soldier came up behind her and grabbed her around the neck. She flipped him over her shoulder in one deft movement, leaving him groaning on the ground. She didn't wait for him to get up, and electrocuted him, being careful to keep the current from spreading through the water. It was hard to do, and drained more energy than it would have if she hadn't done it, but she managed. He shuddered for a second, then went limp, steaming. Kara gasped for breath. She was getting tired. She roundhouse kicked another soldier that came within the reach of her foot, sending him sprawling to the ground. Another got her fist in his face.
The eyepatched man grabbed her arm. "I admire your bravery kid, but you need to get somewhere safe." He pulled her into one of the smaller tunnels, far enough back to not be seen. He turned and hurried back out. "Stay here." He called over his shoulder. Kara scowled, but decided against arguing.
