**Sorry! Been grounded, but I'm back now. (:**

GRAYSON

Grayson sighed in relief at the sight of her smile. So she hadn't really rejected him. Good.

Grayson grabbed Maria's hand and started to lead her back out of the forest. It was starting to get dark now and Grayson had to get back t check up on the Rogue and the girls.

"Funny how we're supposed to hate each other...yet even though one of the hugest "wars" is going on it still dosen't stop this whole twisted relationship from going on," Grayson laughed to himself.

"Relationship?" Maria asked.

Grayson looked down at her. "Well yeah. I mean we're still friends whether you like me in any other way or not, right?"

"Well, yes," Maria blushed a little. Grayson smiled and stopped at the clearing.

"Just...just think things through. About everything and let me know what you think. I've got to go, but I'll be back tomorrow."

Grayson gave her a parting smile, though he was tempted to kiss her again, and took off.

KAYLA

She ground her teeth and paced back and forth. She made sure that both Lorraine and Jas were not around. In fact, Kayla had actually managed to make them think that she was on their side.

She had always mistrsusted Jas and what made the silly girl think that she would randomly turn her back on her only friend here. Grayson. Lorraine, on the other hand, wasn't so bad. Still, she couldn't believe that theey were so quick to turn on him.

"Kayla?" Came Grayson's startled voice. "What's going on? Why are you in my room?"

This was Grayson's personal area, still Kayla had to warn him.

"Look, no time to mess around, okay?" She said, crossing her arms. "I know you're loyal to the Rogue, but Lorraine and Jas think that you're not. I can give you inside information, but we need to be careful. I'm a good actress and I know I've got them fooled, you just need to watch yourself, got it?"

Kayla didn't even wait for his questions but went ahead and told him eveything that happened that day.

**Yay! You posted! :D**

Maria

I hurried home. My mind was a whirlwind of confused thoughts and emotions, all mashed up together into one big mess that didn't make any sense no matter where you put it. He kissed me. That thought kept repeating itself in my head, over and over again.

Soon I reached the cottage. I saw light inside. I bit my lip. Krissy wouldn't be too happy with me, and neither would Daniel. Oh well. They won't be the first people I've upset. I thought grimly. I pushed the door open and walked inside.

Krissy:

The door creaked open and I whirled around.

"Thank the god damn lord!" I shouted, jumping out of my seat.

Maria looked embarrassed, as she sunk through the door. I grabbed her hand and yanked her across the room to the desk with my sheets laid out.

"Finally damn it. I thought I was gonna die of impatience. I have a marvelous idea to share!" I rambled out. "Daniel! Get your butt down here. Maria's home."

I missed this so much!!

Daniel
Yes, great. he excalimed internally, as he rushed out of his room and downstairs.
"God! Where the hell have you been?" He shouted to Maira who was unusally red. Her cheeks almost glowed.

"Now?" his impatience was too obvious. It was quite a habit now, doing everything in a rush, knowing everything instantly.

"damn it, Daniel!" She said laughing. "Calm down now that she's here I can finally rant about my plan"

Krissy:

"Okay, I have a plan to start this. We will strike first." I said, relief that I could finally share.

Daniel's eye were wide and childish, the anticipation of the day catching up on him. Maria's cheeks were flushed pink and her eyes glittered happily on her face.

"There is a urchin hole in the wall that me and Daniel found when we were children. No one knew it existed, except us. We can go through there, it leads us up to the top of the walls. That's were the Rogue's spies are, every urchin knows that. They're usually here, and here." I said pointing to the circled spots on the simple map.

Daniel chuckled, his eyes on my daggers. He was reminding himself of our first robbery as well.

"We slash the spies, completely hooded in case on escapes through I know they won't. They can't fight, they're Birds not fighters. They won't expect a thing. We can leave their bodies and write a message in their blood, the Rogue will have to start to worry." I smiled mischievously, seeing my plan unroll in front of my eyes.

"I like it." Daniel laughed "Pretty sadistic, but I like it."

The part of me that I had kept in charge since my kidnapping leapt forwards, and suddenly I was all business. I couldn't keep myself from thinking about what had happened though.

"It's a good plan." I supplied. "What exactly are we going to write?"

Krissy:

I shrugged.

"I'm not sure, I've been thinking about it all day. We need something good."

I paused thinking carefully.

"What about something like... you're next, I don't know, that is not really menacing." I said looking at Maria. "Do you have any ideas?"

I shrugged, thinking. "I really don't know. We could do something like; 'the beginning of your end'."

I took a deep breath. "We're going to have to tell the Rogue," I told Lorraine.

She shook her head, throwing a frightened glance at the Rogue, who was sitting at his throne scanning spy reports. "Do you know how angry he's going to be?"

"There were dead people in Gryk's house!" I hissed. "Three of them, all with their throats cut."

"So?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.

"So they were some of the Rogue's people!" I said. "He sent them there to get rid of Gryk's stuff, and someone killed them! This is getting bad. We don't even fully understand what's going on. We HAVE to tell the Rogue. He's going to find out eventually anyways."

Lorraine bit her lip. She looked just as exhausted as I felt. Kayla had disappeared after we left Gryk's house, presumably to get some sleep, but I couldn't stand the idea of leaving the Rogue when he was in such danger. "Okay," she reluctantly said. "But you have to be the one to tell him."

"Great." I stood up, clearing my throat. The Rogue glanced up, shuffling his papers. "Um, sir? There's something I think you need to know..."

Krissy:

"Well then if you don't mind, we attack tonight" I said, twirling my daggers around my fingers.

The Rogue:

"What is it Jas?" he said, a bored expression of his face as he slid another three gold pieces over to a small pile.

The girl flushed glancing down to Kayla nervously. "Sir, I um..."

"Jas, please spit it out already." said the Rogue, his attention still dully placed on the gold coins.

Daniel
"Krissy, you're the best" he said hugging her. After all this waiting, the plan was absolutely genius and he was overexcited by it.

"So, tonight?" he asked, a bit unsure but still joyful. "Like right now? because if you haven't noticed, little missy, night will soon be over us" His stron finger pointed out the windown to the now orange and dark blue horizon.

"Then we must get prepared" She said, getting up from the chair.

Lorraine
The whole room suddenly had this strange heavy atmosphere that was almost like a premonition of what was to come.

"Jas, just say it" The rogue said, raising his voice with anger. I just lowered my gaze and from the corner of my eye saw Kayla popping her eyes wide.

"Jas, I think you shouyld just say it" I whispered to her from behind. After all, it wasn't her fault, telling such news to the rogue would have put in a terrible situation to the strongest man.

Krissy:

I laughed as I slipped away from Daniel's arms and up to my room. I pulled out my fighting gear and my cloak, along with my knives. I positioned all my gear properly and carefully before throwing my long hooded cloak over my shoulders. The musky smell of the cloak was so familiar to me, it was like my second skin.

"Ah, this is goin' to be fun." I said to myself.

I replaced my daggers and hid various throwing knifes over my leather gear. I was ready to get going, I glided downstairs like a shadow, pulling my hood over my face. I waited for the others to join me.

I took a deep breath. Why was I suddenly so nervous? I defied the Rogue all the time. The worst he would do was hit me... I hoped.

"It's about the gold mines and the counterfeiters," I blurted.

The Rogue froze, a mixture of anger, and something I couldn't recognize, on his face. "What did you just say?" he whispered.

I nervously stepped back out of his reach. Lorraine had retreated to the far side of the room, plainly wishing she was somewhere else. I took another breath and continued. "We've uncovered a whole scheme. Someone is smuggling gold from an illegal mine and making fake coins with it. Gryk was part - "

"Gryk was a fine fighter," the Rogue said coolly.

I blinked. "Sir, he was involved with the same people who are - "

"Damn it Jas, why won't you just leave it alone?" he exploded.

"I- I- " I stuttered, surprised.

"It doesn't involve you, you stupid girl!" the Rogue shouted. He raised his hand and I flinched.

"Sir, these people are trying to kill you!" Lorraine protested. "Surely you recognize the danger - "

"I recognize that the people I considered my most loyal servants are just a bunch of meddling fools!" the Rogue said.

"Oh, we're the fools?" I snapped, furious now. "We're not the ones who sit on their throne everyday, acting like nothing's wrong, when there's something going on right in front of you! Maybe if you weren't so blind all the time you'd see that we're trying to save your life! We've been running around the city for days, trying to protect you, and you just sit here and yell at us like we broke your prized vase. Well, I'm sick of - "

This time he did hit me. I backed away, eyes stinging. "Get out," he said icily. "Get out, and stop interfering with things you don't understand."

I slipped upstairs and went into my bedroom. I changed into black clothes. The same clothes that I had been wearing when my life had been destroyed. I tied my hair up. I put my cloak back on, tying it tightly around my neck. I made sure that my daggers were in a good position.

Then something fell out of my pocket. I looked down. Lying on the ground was a silver ring. My breath caught as I stooped and picked it up. I stared at it as it lay on my palm. A lump rose in my throat and I slipped it onto the ring finger of my right hand. I had forgotten about it. How did it survive for so long?

Well, it didn't matter. All I knew was that I would guard it with my life. It was my very last remnant of him. The only thing that had survived the Rogue's wrath upon my family.

It had been meant to be my wedding ring.

I went back downstairs to find Krissy waiting for me. I gave her a weak smile. "Are we ready?"

Krissy:

"We're waiting for Daniel, the silly boy takes longer to get dressed then a maid." I laughed.

Maria laughed softly, sadness etched on her face. I glimpse something on her hand that glinted, I knew immediately what it was and I hugged Maria.

"My poor friend, you're probably the strongest person ever." I said to her gently as Daniel thudded down the stairs.

I turned to face both of them.

"Ready?" I said wickedly as I stole out the door, lowering the light on my lantern.

The entrance was close, I remembered it perfectly. The crumbled stones and propped up branches that formed a weak cabin we refuged to often. We scurried silently up the stones onto the top wall, a figure of a nonchalant Bird was a little bit a head of us. I smiled to myself.
