Hello Tedus! Nice to meet you, and welcome to the Young Writers' Society community. Before you begin exploring this little writing world, there are a few rules you need to know of.

2:1 ratio. For every article you submit for reviewing, you should post two reviews. This just keeps the site flowing so there aren't a million people asking for reviews and none getting any.

No cht spk or ALL CAPS. It's just annoying, and, since we are writers, we speak as writers.

So, did you learn English as a first or second language? If it is a second language, that is very impressive. Don't get discouraged by books. I know some adults who learned English as a second language, and they started out with books such as by Roald Dahl. Then, they climbed up, and could eventually read difficult novels!

Most importantly of the rules, have fun, and write away!

Hey Luke! :D
I don't know much about Malta, but I know that one of best friends studied it for a project in school. Are you planning on posting parts of your stories on YWS? If you are, I'd love to review them. A few ground rules to follow -

 Keep comments - nice, meaning, don't use vulgar language or get upset. For stories and poems, you can swear, but for comments, withhold from it. Inappropriate comments will be edited.

 YWS has a 2:1 ratio, which means that there should be two reviews for every work posted. So, don't post a new work untill you'd done two reviews.

 Please do not t4LK liiK3 thiiS, or you use chatspeak (omg r u goin to the game?), caps, or 1337. It's painful to read.

If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me :-)

All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.

Hey! Welcome to the wacky (and recently improved) world of YWS!!!!

Malta. Hm. I've probably heard it somewhere, but I don't really remember it. I'll have to look it up when I go to the library next. I'd love to go to Europe again sometime, though. I absolutely loved Greece (I went there this summer :))

Well, since everyone's gone over the rules already, I'll just skip straight to the hard questions. Lucky you. :D

Favorite colors? Favorite books (so far)? Do you like to write a lot? Hobbies besides writing and reading? What genre do you like to read? Favorite ice cream flavor? If you could be any non-living item in the world, what would you be?

Well, PM me if you need anything!

See ya around!

Hi Luke!
Welcome to YWS! We're always happy to have new additions to our huuuuuge family :D
Malta! What language do you mainly speak there?
(My dog supposedly originated from your country! She's a Maltese.)
Well, since the rules have been explained, feel free to PM me if you've still got any questions :D

Wow a lot of questions to answer :)

Erm one question: can we use emoticons like ^_^; here? xD
Well being from Malta, English is my 2nd language. Maltese is my first. I speak 6 languages fluently, mostly because we go abroad a lot and I spent most of my childhood all around Europe.

Hey Luke! :D
I don't know much about Malta, but I know that one of best friends studied it for a project in school. Are you planning on posting parts of your stories on YWS? If you are, I'd love to review them.

Thank you for the lovely welcome. I have posted the Prologue of my current novel in the Other Fiction section of the forum already :). I do love reviewing people's work a lot so I'm sure I'll be reviewing a lot more than posting, since I'm quite intimidated by the talent here xD

Hmm colours. That's an interesting question. I was always stumped by it. Don't laugh at me but I don't have a favourite colour xD
As for books...hmmm where to even start? I've been an avid reader since the age of 5 xD I find them absolutely enthralling. But I have recently read the book "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult and I found it to be an absolute masterpiece. But my favourite author will always be Paulo Coelho. His writing and his stories never fail to excite me.
I am also a person of the theatre. I enjoy Acting, singing and dancing very much. Mostly singing though, which I hope will be my career in the future since music is the greatest passion of my life :)
My favourite genre is the Slice of Life/Drama type. I am quite morbid by nature so I tend to love reading depressing stuff. Good fun xD
Ice Cream...Augh...ALL OF IT!
And if I could be a non-living thing I would definitely be a sword :D

Thank you so much for the lovely welcome. My first language is Maltese. And yes the dogs DID apparently originate from here xD

Thank you for the encouragement :) I am working on a novel at the moment entitled "Pieces of People". I have posted the prologue in the "Other Fiction" Section already :) It's quite a challenge for me because I am trying to finish it for a school project (made myself do it so that I'll simply have to finish it. Also because I'm tackling a serious message in an action/sci-fi/character exploration type novel.

Thank you all for the great welcome. I hope to be seeing you all around :)

You cannot dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself into one.

The writer, when he is also an artist, is someone who admits what others don't dare reveal.

Hey Luke,
Welcome to YWS !
My name is JustDance=], but feel free to call me JD for short ^_^
So you live in Europe ? That's amazing, I've always wanted to go there.
It's such a beautiful place.

So, you've been writing 3 novels huh ?
That's a lot to juggle, I usually start on one, but tend to give up haha.

Now that you've made you way to YWS, why not learn a few rules before you climb aboard ?
Sound good ? Great.
YWS isn't much of a strict site, but we do have some exceptions, that we perfer all members read, and obey.

1.) You have to have atleast two reviews before posting your own work to be critiqued. Like they say, give and than get.
2.) This is a site for writers, so chatspeak is not tolerated. Don't be lazy ! Saying "to" instead of "2" isn't that hard.
3.) Write ! (: That's the reason you joined, right ?

So Luke...
that's about it, told you it'd be easy and quick !
Hope to see you around, talk soon !
-JD

Shina has pretty much explained it right there of course. xD
Except she forgot me! D;
But anyways, I am Incognito. The rules have already been explained, and I shall just be here to give you a couple tips you might want to take into consideration.

A way to make friends on YWS and enjoy it as much as a lot of people, go into chat every once and a while. Chat is always a good way to make friends and have a good time. We play random games, quizzes, and you can expand your social networking, getting to know people from all over the world. ;) Cool eh?

I also recommend going into Writing Tips. In there you can find a lot of interesting and useful tips you can take into consideration when you write. A lot f them really do help. I have found them helpful myself in making references for reviews and critiques I make. I do hope that you will take a look at that.

Do you have a special interest? Like to talk to your characters in your head? Enjoy debating? Look into the groups section on YWS. Because in that place, there is plenty of groups that you can join, and all of them have the same interests as you. Some groups are dead, so you could try to awaken them from their crypts, but you will have a heck of a time doing so.

Do you know about the point system? You earn points for posting and reviewing. When you post something, you will get points according to the length of your posts. Depending on how long they are, you will get more points. The highest is 50 you can get. You get points for reviewing also. That obvious. Then at the end of the month, who ever has the mst points will be on the front page as the featured member. Cool eh? Now go get those points.

I hope you have fun on this site, and if you ever have trouble locating stuff, feel free to PM me. I would be glad to be of assistance.

Oy, I know what you mean. I'm juggling three novels myself and none of them are getting finished. It is sad. What are your three novels about?

Hey Luke. I'm with you, Hippie, and Snoink. Juggling everything, never finishing anything. I've started and abandoned at least two different novels. I'm working on one, which I plan to do for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and for a school project. Two different school projects, actually. Plus, it may help me earn extra credit in my Language A class. ^.^

I've been to Europe about four times, but never to Malta. What's it like there? Do you enjoy it? Favorite time of year in Malta?

Well, I hope to see you around sometime. Now, I'm going to be poking over in the Other Fiction section to look at the prologue. Sounds interesting. See you around!
There once was a cat.
He wasn’t particularly fat.
Fuzzy was his favorite mat.
And really, that was that.

Oh, but did you really think so?
Keep reading, it’s just the start of the show!
And as for how far this tale will go…
Well, even the cat doesn’t know.

Sorry, for so many questions. Oh and abut the novels, don't worry I'm jsut like you. I have two more novels besides the one I'm working on, that are waiting to be taken out of the folder.

YOu can PM me if you need something, a review (I'm always willing to review), just a buddy or something.
