*Hey my last few storybooks haven't panned out very well, I really hope this one works out.*

People are always talking about the end of the world, doomsday and all that. But what about after? I mean, at least somepeople would survive, right? How do they pick up the pieces, how do they start all over again? So I thought I'd come up with a plot like that.

Doomsday-

plot: A.D. 2064... Planet Earth was on the brink of destruction. Clashes between the World Republic Federation and the various nations that opposed it, sparked the outbreak of World War III. Weapons of mass destruction, deployed with complete impunity, razed the land in the blink of an eye. People believed it was the end of the world.

The dire situation forced the two opposing factions to negotiate a cease-fire, reaching an agreement in only three days. But while the war may have ended, its effects remained. With the war's end, the extent of the damage became clear. The grim reality was, that in the blink of an eye, over half the world's population had been wiped out, and the living could only envy the dead.

Fastforward to A.D. 2087, over two decades have passed since WWIII, and it's effects are still being felt world wide. Asia is infested with radiation poisoning and strange mutations walk its lands. Africa is almost a complete desert. South America was practically wiped off the map. The world's population is now largely concentrated in Europe, renamed Europia, and Australia. But both are rapidly running out of space and resources.

As for North America, it's now called the Northern Waste. An almost uninhabitable wasteland of subzero temperatures. In this post apocalyptic hell, genetically enhanced soldiers, the survivors of a lethal experiment, are becoming the worlds only hope. They can survive the deadly enviorments of New Earth, read somebody's mind with the briefest touch, mold reality with their very thoughts, and slice through bone with their bare hands. Which makes them pretty badass, all right.

Nothing gets to them. Until they meet others of their kind, they have gifts too. Which raises some interesting questions, since they all believed they were the experiments sole survivors. But someone wants the past to stay buried, and the killers they seek are seeking them. Before they can start unravelling the mysteries of their pasts, they are kidnapped and taken to the Northern Waste. Now they have to survive being trapped in an underground maze, hunted by madmen, and exposed to a plague that could destroy the last fragile remnants of mankind.

How do you save the world? When your very existence may be it's destruction?

---------------------------------
rules: The usual rules apply no god moding, no killing off characters without permission, only mild swearing, etc... I'd really like it if this storybook didn't just die out.
---------------------------------
character: Please follow this character profile. All characters must be 23 or younger.

name-
age-
gender-
appearance-
distinguishing features-
personality-
history-
powers- (All of them have telempathy (telepathy/empathy), telekinesis, mild precog abilities, enhanced healing/speed/strength/senses) Also list one or two powers that are unique to your character.
flaw- A genetic flaw that was programmed into their DNA as a safe guard when they were given their powers.
other-

---------------------------------

name- Vax Maverick (Sin)
age- 17 (almost 18 )
gender- male
appearance- http://media.photobucket.com/image/drag ... .jpg?o=216

distinguishing features- orange-gold eyes, dragon shaped birthmark wrapping around his left arm.

personality- Sin is gregarious and outgoing with a wicked sense of humor and an insatiable curiosity. He's always ready for a fight and is ready with a quick retort almost constantly, his mind is like a steel trap, and Sin is considered a prodigy as a tactician, he doesn't have the patience to be a strategist. He makes friends easily, and is extremely loyal and fun loving. But at the same time he alway keeps a part of himself aloof. He loves to figure out all kinds of puzzles. His temper is quick to ignite, but usually quick to cool. Thinks with his heart, headstrong and often stubborn to the point of stupidity.

history- His mother lived on the street when she got pregnant with him, so when the scientists came she gladly consented to the experiments. She died in a terrorist attack on the city of Perth, Australia. Just a day after Sin was born. Like many children orphaned during and after the war, Sin became a ward of the state, and was raised in a boarding school.

But Sin was young and rebellious, and he quickly realised exactly what he was capable of, and that people would try to use him. So when he was nine he left and never looked back. He moves from city to city never in the same place for very long, was caught in Sydney.

One of Patient 00, a set of identical twin brothers, and the first genetically enhanced humans. (If anyone wants they can be the brother he was seperated from.)

powers- electro-kinesis/pyro-kinesis, the ability to generate electricity/fire to an amazing degree. He also has the ability to soul jump, he can invade and take over anothers mind, this is an ability he has kept secret and rarely uses.

flaw- His powers deal largely with energy in all its forms, cut off from a source of power (sunlight, electrical outlet, bonfire) he will become exhausted and pass out. Sin has conditioned himself to go without energy for large periods of time. However if he is deprived long enough his consciousness will recede, and Sin will feed off the energies of those around him, endangering their lives. (this is worst case scenario and has only happened once before.)

other- up for love, weapon of choice is an energy sword, http://twobrothersandasister.com/wp-con ... pon/08.jpg

I really like this idea Sylver. (: I am definetely in and I hope that thi storybook lasts.

Name: Raven Desver

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Apperance: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5TSs-MJG5Gk/R ... el2007.jpg

Distinguishing features: Very pale skin with dark brown, almost black, eyes.

Personality: Calm and cool. She feels that she is just...there. She really just lives life without any feeling. She dosen't care for anybody and does what she has to. She could kill omeone without feeling a thing. She has emotions but you NEVER see them on her face. It's nearly impossible. She's not afraid of death and, despite her attitude, wants to live very much. She has seen love and wants to know what it really is. (By that, I don't mean to limit it to just with a boyfreind, but freindship and family-like bonds.)

Hitory: Raven, herself, dosen't know her history. She only knew the scienist, which explains why she loves no one. The scientists only thought her an expiriment. In reality she had a loving family. She was about one years old when her mom died. Her dad crashed but still took care of her and her brother. He loved them both dearly. Then her brother died not even two months later. Her father was left with Raven, but the scientists still needed more tests so they took her from him when she was about tweleve. The sceintists thought that if she didn't remember her family that she would be better off, so they took her memories and she started over. Her father is still looking for her in hopes that she is still alive.

Powers: She can heal extremely fast and heal others. Something she thinks is not important. She can also control the weather, though she, too, rarely uses this gift for she sees no use in it. (What a bundle of joy, eh? ^^)

Flaws: since she hardly ever uses her powers she gets a kind of build up. If this pressure grows too much, it can kill her. Often she has to go on a sort of power rampage and use her powers to the max, which really weakens her. Also, since she can control the weather she can also sense aprroaching storms and such. It gives her a headaches and sometimes can mess with her power.

Other: Up for love.
Hermione, shut your ungodly, lopsided mouth and quit interrupting! 20 points from Gryffindor. You know, for the brightest witch of your age you can sure be a dumba** sometimes. *smiles* 10 points to Dumbledore!

(I'll be the brother)

name- Light Maverick

age- 17

gender- Male

appearance- http://media.photobucket.com/image/ramz ... FT.jpg?o=6

distinguishing features- His eyes are completely white and there is a white star imprinted on his chest.

personality- Cool and collective. He appears to have no real emotions. He doesn't laugh, smile, cry, or get angry. He is like a blank person. His only has the determination to kill the ones who hurt him and his brother.

history- Light was born the same as Sin and was separated. When the twins were spit up Light's powers evolved quickly and broke out of his holding at age 5. He was found by a poor family and they raised him for the next 10 years. One day he was found and his foster parents were killed. Light escaped and decided to look for his brother. He tracked him down in Sydney only to be capture shortly before his brother was.

powers- (All of them have telepathy (telepathy/empathy), telekinesis, mild precog abilities, enhanced healing/speed/strength/senses) Light. He uses Light energy to create objects. The usual is weapons and armor.

flaw- First of all Light has no emotions. Second, his power is weak in the dark. He has to draw on the power of his crest, but that power is his life force. Exposed use will cause exhaustion and death.

other- Up for love if you can unlock his emotions.

*I'll explain Sin's history, the twins were expermented on before they were born, and then their mom got cold feet and escaped. Like it says she died the day after the twins were born, so the government seperated the infant twins. So I guess you'll have to fill in the gaps after that.

This storybook will start once we have five or six people.*
DANCE- Like no-one is watching
LOVE- Like you've never been hurt
SING- Like no-one is listening
LIVE- Like it's heaven on earth.

name- Bettina Riddle

age- 17

gender- Female

appearance- Bettina has mid-length silvery blonde hair that slightly waves, a pale complexion, and haunting silver eyes that seem to change density with her emotions. She has a tall, svelte figure and sharp features that greatly contrast from her smooth upturned nose. Her most distinguishing feature is the light blue and grey butterfly wings that largely cover her back and enable her aerial flight.

distinguishing features- The wings (that can be hidden under clothing and folded up into small slats,) and a silver tattoo on her shoulder that reads "truth" in bold calligraphy.

personality- She's as tough as they come and stubborn enough to make anyone want to skin her alive. She's slightly apathetic, very defiant, and very down to earth. She is strong and silent and prefers to be introspective rather than social. She's clever and intelligent but weaves lies and deceits so often that they are a part of her nature.

history- She grew up in a wealthy family that was suddenly struck by instant poverty when their fortune was lost. Her father left the family to find work in Australia but was never heard from since he left. Her mother, desperate to regain her social status and money, was easily bribed by wealth and fame to give up the child that hadn't yet been born. She died during the experiments. (Well they say she died...)

powers- She can morph into any kind of bird species she wants, as well as create convincing illusion with the air.

flaw- She is blind and can only "see" by feeling the air around her in relation to material objects.

This sounds like a lot of fun!

Name- Keir Valtyn

Age- 19

Gender- Male

Appearance- Him

Distinguishing Features- Eyes are a deep burgundy shade, showing barely any emotion at any given time. Long scar that stretches from the top of his left eyebrow to the base of his nose.

Personality- Keir is a lover seldomly, choosing instead to hide his true self for fear that, if she shows it, it will indeed be his demise. Most believe that Keir has no temper, as he is extremely slow to anger; but when you do anger him, it's best to find somewhere to hide. And fast.

History- Keir was taken for expirements when he was only two years old. He was forced to watch his mother killed by his father, for standing up for her own personality. His father then gave him up to the government for the expirements. The rest of his history he chooses to hide.

Powers- (All of them have telempathy (telepathy/empathy), telekinesis, mild precog abilities, enhanced healing/speed/strength/senses) Puppetry. Keir can force anyone to mimick his movements, thoughts, and speech by lightly touching their minds to gain mild control. Once he has gained control, it is impossible to overbear him unless he lets you.

Flaw- Keir can lose his concentration by simple mention of his mother; which also causes his temper to flare and weapon to be quickly withdrawn from its sheath.

Other- Up for love.

*Okay we can start. Just so everyone knows, it's almost impossible for someone to poison these guys. Due to their enhanced senses, and accelerated healing. The sole exception is Anraxyn, a powerful sedative, created specifically to take them down. Everyone starts off in roughly the same area in the maze, they each have a back pack, with a sleeping bag, flashlight, clothes, food and water, and a single survival tool. Which can be used to navigate/escape the maze.*

Vax Maverick (Sin)-

"Something's wrong." Sin paused and glanced around him. The moon was up, and the stars were beginning to come out. Even so, the alleyway was nearly pitch black. Trying to clear the cobwebs, he shook his head. Their had been rumours in the bar today, about someone with powers in Sydney. It could only be Sin, he'd moved to the city four months ago.

"I've been here to long." He thought. "Too many people asking questions, sooner or later they'll find the answers." Turning he hurried through the alley, just a few more blocks and he'd be home. Home being the latest in a line of cheap apartments in Old City Districts.

He never heard the dart fire, but he felt it. Stumbling, Sin glanced down and saw the pale green dart sticking out of his shoulder. He tried to grab it but his arms were too heavy. Head swimming, Sin looked up, ahead of him was a white van and men were climbing out of it. Men in white coats. "Shit." He thought, vision turning black his legs buckled and he fell to the pavement. "I'm in trouble now."

---

He came to in a small white room with the door open, instantly he was ready to fight. But he was alone, the only thing in the room other then the small cot he was on, was a backpack. Curious he checked inside, a few changes of clothes, a sleeping roll, a flashlight, some food and water, and a compass.

"Lovely." Sin murmured, he shouldered the pack and left the room, the hall was the same as the room, blank white walls, flourescent lights, blue linoleum floor, no windows, nothing. The hall stretched in both directions, farther off, the hall branched in a few directions, but as far as Sin could tell, the place was deserted. He licked his lips, and called out. "Is somebody there?" Sin shivered as his voice echoed down the empty halls. "Anybody!?"

---

The Hunter smiled and set his drink down, leaning back in the chair he watched the video screens intently, each one showed a different freak. He stifled a chuckle. Part of him wanted to leave and go after them now, but he stopped. "Best to savour the fun." The Hunter told himself. "The freaks don't have any idea what's in store for them."

Smirking, he turned his attention back to the screens. He had never understood the point of sending the freaks into the outside world, but the scientists had claimed it was neccesary, 'To develop character', they had claimed. Now excitement coursed through his veins, the Hunter had been too long denied. And now could barely restrain himself. At last the hunt would begin.

Care if I join you? (:

Raven

I was alone. Normally I lived to be alone, or at least just for silence, but today it felt different. Eerie.

"Is somebody there?" Someone called. "Anybody." I could see their shadowy figure. I walked towards it.

"Who's that?" the voice demanded.

"I'm Raven," I said, softly. He turned towards me and I finally saw who I was talking to. Was he a scientist?

"Raven?" He asked. He seemed a little wary.

"Yes. Raven. That is my name," I smiled a little. "Could I ask yours?"

Light awoke in a daze. He slowly sat up in his bed scratching his head, "Where am I?" The cold room offered no response. Light struggled to remember what had happened. "I tracked my brother to Sydney, and then," he couldn't remember anything else. "I must have been captured there." He saw the pack lying on the ground and saw the open door.

Standing he took a closer look around. Above his bed he noticed a small camera staring at him. He created a shard of energy and through it at the camera breaking it and causing it to explode. Thinking a moment he decided his brother must be around some where and decided to go look for him. With that, Light left the room, pack in hand.

Keir Valtyn

With a jolt, it all became real. The white walls and the rock hard cot beneath my aching body weren't a dream after all; they were a reality. A reality that somehow, in some way, I had gotten myself stuck in. Was there ever a time that I didn't get myself into trouble?

Closing my eyes to only a squint, I grabbed my head and sat up. Across the room sat a brown bag, seemingly over filled. I threw my legs to the side and stood, only to be caught off guard by a sudden bout of dizziness and nausea. It didn't last long, for as soon as I hit the floor face first, a headache replaced both. I laid there for what seemed like only a matter of minutes, eyes closed and my body curled into the fetal position. Self pity, it seemed, would definitely not get me out of here.

Standing up once more, I grumbled. How stupid; if someone had been watching, that definitely would have gotten me killed. No room, I thought, slowly making my way over to the bag, There's no room for personality. It got mother killed, and I will not allow it to get me killed. I lifted the beg high above my head and opened the clasp.

On the floor in front of me now laid a tightly rolled sleeping blanket, a light, stale bread and a flask of water, and an army knife. I picked the knife up and flicked it open. Numerous little gadgets popped out; a knife itself, a lock pick, a nail file, and a cork screw.

"A cork screw? Why in hell would I need a cork screw?" I rolled my eyes and closed the knife. "Whoever gave me this has a sick sense of humor."

Packing up the knife and the rest of the contents, I stole a quick sip of water then closed the flask tightly. My eyes followed the walls until I found a door. I quickly made my way over to it, turned the knob, and flung it open. What I had hoped to see, however, is not what I was seeing. No, there was no sunshine, no clouds in the sky, and certainly not a more comfortable bed. Instead, my eyes were met with a long, long hallway that mimicked the exact design of my room. And no windows.

Suddenly angered, I rammed my fist against the frame of the door. Realizing that was a bad idea, I cursed loudly. I had never been good at finding a more civil way to voice my anger. I stuck my throbbing hand between my knees and closed my eyes tightly. I forced myself to think of something else other than the pain.

Voices drifted to my ears. I couldn't understand what they were talking about, and for a brief moment, I let my guard down. Surely, I couldn't going crazy already. I had only been here for... oh bother. With my memory failing, I followed the voices. They weren't in my head, that was for sure. Rounding the first corner I found, I spotted two shadows in the distance. One was slightly smaller than the other; obviously a girl. Putting my guard back up, I walked down the hall towards them.

Vax Maverick (Sin)-

He shrugged, "I'm Sin." When the girl looked like she would laugh he ruched to say. "It's a nickname."

Turning, Sin glanced down the hall before looking back at Raven. "I don't suppose you know why I'm here, last thing I remember was falling down in an alley, then I woke up in that little room." He pointed over his shoulder.

Just as she was about to answer there was a tap from down the hallway. And the pair turned to see two boys walking down the hallway, obviously not together. In the dim hall lighting, Sin could see as clear as day, one of the boys had dark hair and red eyes, the other had blonde hair and white eyes.

Sin stiffened when he caught sight of him. "It couldn't be..." He thought.
