Athene~Oboe

"Yes, my parents had very high hopes for me." Athene laughed, sardonically. "Can you hear that? That kid's amazing." She started, her head jolting up as the Japanese boy began playing.

"Yeah..." Corvin replied, superiorly glancing down at his fingernails, inspecting them for dirt.

"And you must be French." Athene added, noticing the particular way he held himself.

"Yes I am." He answered proudly, his chest puffing out more than it already was.

"You play... percussion?" She guessed, figuring the bold, outspoken instrument would suit him very well.

* I feel late....but thanks Dream for including my character a little bit!*

Mari~

After the man called my name, I confidently walked up onto the stage, ready to amaze. My drum set was already on stage for my convenience; no broken backs allowed before a performance. I sat down on my chair and closed my eyes. I could feel several peoples' gaze analysing my every movement; waiting impatiently for me to play the drums.

Or they were conversing quietly among themselves, beginning to make friendships. They didn't care even a little bit that I, Mariyah, was on stage. Don't be so prideful, Mari and play before they kick you off! Hurry up and focus.

I sighed, and obeyed the little voice in my head. Focus. The drums are my outlet for expression. An outlet for my emotions. Thoughts about my story flooded my head. Opression, poverty, violence...

Anger, sadness, and love for my mother overwhelmed me and I knew I had enough fuel to play.

And I did play. It seemed like only a second later, I finished my last beat and there was a small applause. I was called off the stage and I exited. Soon, some guy obviously Asian, came on stage.

*Finish later!*

**Yay, Hiro's playing ^_^ Oh and, Phantom Potter, you might reckognize this XD**

Fuyuhiro

His fingers hit the keys batteringly, as they always did when he first started, so he chose a song in which was okay to start of battering. When his nerves calmed, his fingers carressed the keys as Beethovens 23 sonata filled with room with its warmth. The appassionata. It had been okasan's favourite.

The notes became harsh, the playful, the calming all in a clash of sound that he loved more then anything in the world. The piano was an instrument of classics, and yet it was the instrument in which he wished to master beyond any. The simple sound was one he wished to curve, and in that he played with passion.

Finally, his last notes his and he bowed his head towards the piano before standing up and walking off stage, his fingers hurting somewhat from the rapid movements. The song itself was long and contained way to many notes not to hurt, but it was his best song, and in auditions it was his comfort song.

He sat back down were he had before, cradling his hands in his lap as he eyed the floor.

"You play beautifully, you know."

He felt his cheeks burn at the remark before bowing his head further at the remark.

"You are to kind, Shanon-san."

Athene~Oboe

"Oh God, I'm next... I completely forgot." She scooped up her instrument, took 3 extra reeds with her, even though she knew that if a reed cracked in the middle of her performance she'd probably be sent home like the unfortunate bassoonist who bit his reed accidentally and was disqualified. That made her even more nervous. She got there just in time, and as she gracefully walked onto the stage she made her first impression.

"Athene Antemesaris?" A judge asked.

"Yes." She replied, straightening her back as she felt anticipation and anxiety start racking her body.

"You may begin with scales." He told her. She began making her way through the circle of fifths, she knew scales well, and wasn't scared about this. She thought she had chosen way to difficult a song. It was a long and changeable Bach sonata.

"Good," he replied, nodding in approval as other judges wrote down notes on their clipboards. "You may begin your selected piece."

Athene put the reed in her mouth to soak for a second and then leapt into her music, following every dynamic change and rhythm passages. She ended boldly, took the instrument from her mouth and licked her lips in anticipation. "Thank you, wait while we calculate your score."

She nodded and rushed out of the auditorium.

Olin Harper~Trumpet

Olin stood up against a wall all by himself. He didn't like making introductions and wasn't sure if he'd be staying any way. He didn't want to get to know someone only to never see them again. He watched as an oboe player began playing. He enjoyed the music for a second, but soon began concentrating on his own thoughts. His piece was considered child's play to many of his level, but he was playing the piece from memory and had to focus. Once the oboe player was finished he heard his name being called and proceeded to the stage.

As he walked he ran into the oboe player, "You played well," he smiled.

"Th...thank you," she seemed flustered. "Good luck."

"Grazie," replied Olin as he let her pass.

Once on stage he took a seat and waited for instruction. He played his scale with ease and sight reading was no trouble. Key of B flat, it was child's play. Then he was asked to state his piece. "I will be playing 'Allegretto' by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart."

"A grade two piece? I'm afraid you wont get any points for playing a piece of that level," replied the director.

"Well sir, I shall be playing it from memory." Olin turned his stand to reveal it to be empty.

"Oh, well, that would be fine then. I will allow it from memory. You may play when ready."

"Grazie signore." Olin began playing with no trouble at all. Why did he love the simple piece so much? It was the first song he ever learned to play.
I will always fight back, no matter what.

Is there still room in this storybook? Is harmonica taken?

Athene~Oboe

Athene made her way back to the original room, it looked like a reception hall. She saw a group of musicians, the ones who had completed their audition, talking to each other. She went over and sat in an empty chair. "Hi," she said. A girl with a bass slung across the back of her chair looked up and smiled.

Athene nodded hello to the rest. They seemed to just enjoy the comfort of the rest of the people who seemed to survive audition without even talking to them. A cheerful looking trumpeter walked back from the auditorium grinning. His went well.

"Has everyone auditioned?" Athene asked to none in particular.

"I don't know. I came late." I smiled. The girl seemed nice.
"Yeah. I saw that." She grinned. "But you were good."
"Thanks, but if that was just you, you also really were. Seems like everyone here is a music genius." I said looking around.
"Yeah. Your right. By the way. I'm Athene."
"Your 100% Greek. Am I right?" I smiled.
"Uhum." She nodded.
"Shanon. South African."
"Wow. Is it nice there?"
"The most beautiful place on earth."
Just then the guy who was the audition giver or something (If were going to work with him for longer lets give him a name please.).
"OK. Auditions are done. Everyone in this room is in." He said, "My name is Peter Bauer, I'm Austrian. Will you follow me please." He continued, putting a major emphasis on the word please.
"Is he also annoying you?" I whispered under my breath, holding my bass tightly.
Athene nodded, "Yeah. Sounds a bit like a pain."
I couldn't help giggling.

Athene silently mocked him as he stiffly lead them into a round conference room. People around them chuckled, but as he turned to glare at them, all of them looked down or gave him a serious poker face. He shook his head and unlocked the room. Take your seats please. Everyone hurried to find a seat on the long rectangular table.

"The audition results have been calculated by the judges. Everyone present in this room seems to have completed the audition with amazing results." His face never changed and he seemed to speak with a monotone. "Let me share a few things with you." He stiffly walked over and pulled down a screen. He coughed slightly.

**Everyone, just to let you know my profile is in the DT. And Forever, I am sorry, but those results might just have to wait. xD

Louis Anthony ~ Saxophone

"Let me share a few things with you."

Louis burst into the toom, a bottle in his hand labeled Budwieser. He glanced around at everyone blinking lightly, mildly surprised as if he did not expect for all of them to be there. He took a gander over at the man about to post the results on the screen, unimpressed.

"Hey you, the stiff neck. I haven't gotten to play yet." Louis laid his carrying case onto the ground and started to unbuckle it.

"Excuse me sir, but who might you be?" The man turned to face him, examining him closely, obviously unimpressed at the appearance of Louis, who looked positively dishelved.

Louis perked up his one eyebrow and looked at the man, eyes never straying from his, locked in what seemed like a few moments on silence. He felt himself sigh, and cough lightly, and then take another swig from his bottle. "Sir, I am whoever you want me to be."

Louis unzipped the bag and pulled out his saxophone swiftly and staggered towards the table. "I would suggest you sit down, and get out your pen and paper, eh. I would rather not get my scores fudged up."

"Sir, we need your name."

"Don't you know who I am? Everyone should know by now! I am the one and only Louis Anthony Taylor, soon to be the best musician in the world." He smiled lightly down on the man, obviously noticed how he was certainly short. He laid his bottle onto the table, and sighed. "So where is the stage?"

"Sir, it is too late,"

"Oh well," Louis interupted, "this here will have to make due." He got up onto the table, meanwhile accidentally kicking the bottle off of it, the glass shattering to pieces. "Damn it! Look what you made me do! I just lost my beer! That was the only one I got away with at the border." He pouted lightly. "Ah well."

"Well, um, Louis, what are you going to be playing today?"

"I don't know. I feel like the blues." And with that Louis pulled out his sunglasses and placed them over his eyes. "Now I look like I am into the blues too."

"Sir, what song are you going to be playing?"

"I don't actually quite know. We will figure out when I play it, now won't we?" And with that, Louis brought the saxophone to his lips and prepared himself for his presentation.

Ah! Too fast! XD I'll take it back to rehearsals for a second, then bring things back up to speed :)

Lanoray - Flute

**Auditions

I somehow managed to keep myself calm as I waited to hear my name. Finally, though, it came, and I shuffled nervously to the stage.

When I got up there, the director called out to me. "Blair, Lanoray?" I nodded sheepishly. "Good. And you will be playing the flute. What piece?" He asked.

"I will be playing an excerpt from the William Tell Overture." It wasn't very original, but it was tricky. The man looked surprised, and a little doubtful, but he nodded and gave me the 'go ahead'.

My fingers flew along the delicate instrument as I played the fastest part of the song. I didn't really need the sheet music, as I had played it so many times that I could do it with a blindfold on, but it was sitting there for good measure. When I finished, the director waved me off the stage with a fragile smile. I nodded and hurried off.

When I went back into the hallway, the other musicians watched me. They all looked a little stunned. I smiled nervously and gave them a slight wave. They all resumed what they were doing before I came out. I sat down on a little bench and set my case down beside me. I didn't realize until I looked back up that I had sat next to someone.

"Oh!" I exclaimed, noticing the blonde boy sitting there. "I'm sorry!"

He laughed quietly. "No worries." I smiled at him. "I'm Glenn."

"Lanoray," I replied.

"You are very talented," he said through his clear Polish accent. "They play that song at the...uh...horse races?"

I smiled and suppressed a laugh. "That's right." He smiled and fiddled with his cello. "Have you auditioned yet?" I asked him.

"No, not yet," he responded.

"Oh..." I said.

For the rest of the audition time, we were both silent.

**Results room..thing XD

"Let me share a few things with you."

Suddenly, a young man burst through the doors, a nearly empty beer bottle in his hand. Everyone watched him somewhat disapprovingly. He made quite a scene - jumping on the table and kicking his beer off, which, by the way, flew straight by my head before smashing on the floor. He made an unusually large fuss over it. I shrank back in my chair.

Though he was a little obnoxious and unpredictable, I couldn't help but laugh when he put on a pair of sunglasses and start playing. As they usually are, our first impressions were incorrect. He was extremely talented, and played the saxophone with perfect skill and doubtless ease.

When he was done, he turned to the director for a response. The rest of us also looked at him in anticipation.

Hiro

He could feel his nostrils burning suddenly which caused him a great deal of grief as his eyes turned this way and that. He grimaced, knowing that something was definitly up, the sneeze about ready to come out. Suddenly, he broke out into a fit of sneezing.

"Neko!" He choked through his sneezes. "Neko, neko!"

"What's he saying?"

"I don't know... shouldn't someone help him?"

"Neko!" He could feel his eyes burn and well up as he continued to sneeze.

"Oh, you must smell my cat." Louis chuckled, opening up his carrying case fully. Suddenly, a siamese cat's head popped out. Louis grabbed the cat in his hands and walked over towards Hiro, holding him out. "Mister Japanese man, this is Chow Chow. Chow Chow, meet mister Japanese man!"

"Are you...achu...making fun...achu...of my...achu...nationality?" He asked, sneezing becoming rampant now that the cat was only inches away.

"No actually," Louis raised hand finger to his lips, smiling widely. "But it is such a darling name, wouldn't you think?"

"Get that... achu...neko...achu...away from...achu...me!" He covered his mouth, trying to breath clean air in which did not work very well. His eyes narrowed, stinging as they welled up, the water brimming over the lids.

"Doushite?" Louis smiled. "Douka shita no?"

"Nani... Watashi wa nekos no arerugi desu."

"Aa." Louis put his cat back in the bag. "Gomen-ne."

"Aa, yokatta!" Hiro wiped his nose on his sleeve, nostrils clearing a little. "Nihongo o hanashimasu ka?"

"Hai, sukoshi."

"Sugoi!" Hiro smiled before turning towards the doors. "I...I am sorry but I... well I must leave now... I am allergic to cats...sumimasen."

And with that he left the room.

~~

Okay, Hiro said 'neko' which means 'cat'. Louis then replied with 'why?' and 'what's wrong?' Hiro replied with 'what...' and then a 'I'm allergic to cats.' Louis then says 'oh.' and 'I'm sorry.' Hiro then says 'Oh, good'. and 'Do you speak japanese?'. Louis says 'a little'. Hiro the says 'awesome.' and the last word his says in the second last sentence is 'escuse me'.

Hopefully that didn't confuse the hell out of you XD.

*okay...i'll repeat my character having an audition...can anyone pull me in??

Iclisa

It was my turn to take an audition. The guy who went before me with a saxophone was incredible. I felt my heart that i could do a good job. I never do but i would give it a try.

"Iclisa..." the host called.

"Da?" i said with a surprise.

"Its your turn to audtion. Your playing the violin right?" he said as he sat on his chair crossleggedly.

"Da." i said as i prepared myself and stood in front of the host. I felt my legs trembles feeling embarrased to be the centre of attention.

"What are you playing," the host said as i hoisted the violin on my shoulders,

"Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata..." i responded as i pulled my green cap over my head just to preapre myself. And with a single wave from the host, i gave it a go.
John McClane: Drop it. It's the police.
Tony: You won't hurt me.
John McClane: Oh, yeah? Why not?
Tony: Because you're a policeman. There are rules for policemen.
John McClane: Yeah. That's what my captain keeps telling me

"Damn that guy was good." a girl sitting next to me said.
"Yeah! Absolutely!". I smiled. "What instrument do you play?"
"I'm the violin. You?"
"Bass."
"I'm Iclisa." she said.
"Shannon. Nice to meet you."
Just then Hiro started sneezing.
"What is he saying?" Iclisa asked.
"I'm not sure, but I think something about a... cat..." I replied thinking hard. I hadn't spoken japanese for years.
"You don't look japanese. Why do you speak it?"
"My bass teacher was japanese." I smiled.
Hiro started talking to Luis and then rushed out of the room.
Peter opened his mouth and started talking.
