Name: Darcel, Corvin

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Nationality: French

Instrument: Viola

Appearance: http://dollskin.deviantart.com/art/Musician-3192398
He is very attractive, and knows it. He tends to strut, and almost always has a smirk on his face.

Personality: Corvin is extremely arrogant. He will usually do what benefits him the most, and will become extremely competitive if pushed. He enjoys toying with other people. He is intelligent and witty, but is overly confident. He takes it extremely badly if he does not get what he wants. He is a spoiled brat and is very disdainful of differences.

History: Corvin's family is very wealthy. Corvin is the only child and lived on a large estate in the French countryside as a child. One day, when Corvin was seven, his family went on a trip to Paris. They went to see operas and concerts and the like. Their last night in Paris, they went to an outdoor concert that featured one of the most famous viola players of the time, Amelia Peperell. Corvin became hooked. After the concert, he ran up to meet the woman. It was one of the few moments of Corvin's life that he did not hold himself with dignity. He demanded that Peperell teach him how to play the viola. Corvin's parents, upon hearing this, backed Corvin up and insisted that Peperell live with them until Corvin was satisfied. With the amount of money Peperell was offered, she never had a choice. Corvin's lessons soon became his life, and Peperell was amazed at how quickly he learned. Corvin was soon composing his own pieces and far surpassed Peperell's talent. She was dismissed, and Corvin grew more and more infamous around France. By this time, Corvin was 16, and the orchestra contacted him. Corvin initially refused, but accepted after a rumour began to circulate that Corvin was faking his music, that one boy could not hold so much talent. Corvin thought that the prestige of the orchestra would show his rivals how very serious he was about his music.

Other: Up for love. Corvin's personality is very extreme right now, but he very well may end up changing during the course of the story. Moving to New York was the first decision Corvin ever made on his own, and he never really has interacted with other people of his age group. He is in for a rude awakening.

Name: Kassab, Mariyah (shortened to Mari when she comes to NYC)

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Nationality: Arab

Instrument: Drums

Appearance: http://giordanowopchop.deviantart.com/a ... u-27833791

Personality: Mari is a very headstrong girl and wants to be independent. She is rebellious and hot headed when it comes to her emotions. The drums and music in general lets her express herself in a safe way instead of hitting things like she usually does. Mari doesn't think before she thinks and this gets her in a lot of trouble. One of her major setbacks is her selfishness. However, Mari makes a wonderful leader and is very organized.

History: Mari lived in a very rural part of Saudi Arabia where she had little rights. Women were inferior to men and she has little education. Mari knows how to read and write but thats about it. The only other things she knows is cooking and cleaning. She lives with just her mother in a small hut out in the country. Her mother is cast down upon because her husband, Mari's father, abandoned her. They are the outcasts and Mari is told time and time again that she has no future even by her mother as well. Mari is viewed as an unwanted troubled child especially with her wild ideas about women's rights. Mari also has frequent bouts of anger where she hits anything in sight. Mari's mother beats her frequently and Mari has been sexually abused by several older men in their small village.

Well one day, her father appeared after a sixteen year absence. He apologized and said that he was now a Christian and wanted to live a good life. Mari's father was living in New York City and eager to get Mari out of the house, her mother decided that she go live with him. There Mari discovered the drums and the rest is history. That was two years ago and now she is the greatest female drummer around.

Whoo! Okay:

Name: Blair, Lanoray

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Nationality: 100% American

Instrument: Flute

Appearance: http://pro.corbis.com/images/42-1724950 ... 62D8CF3%7D

Personality: Lanoray is sweet, but can be sassy. She loves to laugh and sing, and on a rare occasion, dance. She's kind of a flirt, too ;) She's fun and doesn't get mad quickly or in trouble often.

History: She was born in a small town in Alabama, and so has a southern accent. She started playing the flute when she was six, and mastered it just before she turned eight. She lived there all her life with her two brothers and her parents, until she turned sixteen. It was the same year her eldest brother turned eighteen, and when given the chance to move with him to New York, she quickly accepted. She now shares an appartment with him in the city. She figured this was the perfect place to find a music school of some kind, and looks for one everyday.

Okay so, I will let people come and post their profiles but I think I will start here, if everyones alright with that :D.

Fuyuhiro

He had not expected this whatsoever. In fact, he had hoped that, in his thoughts of finding a place in which he could play his music freely, that this was just the place. Now, as he sat in a room filled with teenagers and people of all colours of skin and instruments scattered everywhere, he wondered why, in fact, he decided to take hold of this opportunity.

Over the past week, he had tried his hardest not to speak with anyone at all for to him, they were completely different beings. People in which were a step above and a higher class then himself so he kept his mouth shut and waned through the halls of the hotel waiting for furthur instruction.

The 'further instruction' was something that took a whole week to here of and many who had been given the opportunity left when we had heard no news of this instruction for an entire week as we found little to do around the building but practice our instruments.

Some made friends and some found the will to stay but most left.

The 'instruction' came though at 5 in the morning as we all sat or stood, bleary eyed in pajama's with our instruments everywhere. There appeared to be only ten of us left but ten was enough to make me flustered.

I turned my eyes towards anyone at all but, sadly enough, I was too scared to approach any of them, and with my broken english as terrible as it was, my speech wouldn't be very understandable so I just sat and waited for someone to come in and tell us what we were doing.

Name: Harper, Olin

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Nationality: Italian

Instrument: Trumpet

Appearance: Olin stands about 5,11. He has short brown hair and brown eyes. His build is medium with a little bulge around his stomach. He likes wearing polo shirts of all kinds and is almost always seen wearing one.

Personality: The nice guy. He is always willing to lend a helping hand and always thinks of others before himself. Olin is the kind of guy no one really hates, but his friend pool is small because he isn't really social. He's the guy who stands in the back ground. I guess he's a little shy.

History: Olin was born in a small town on the island of Sicily. His father owned a wine vineyard and believed in a hard days work. Olin's father always told him that one day he would take over the vineyard and make an honest wage through hard work. He wasn't even exposed to a musical instrument until he was twelve.

For his twelfth birthday Olin's mother took him to see a professional symphony. Olin was intrigued. After the concert Olin happened to run into one of the trumpet players knocking him down. Olin expressed his interest in the instrument and the man offered to teach him. Ecstatic Olin agreed.

For the next four years Olin would learn to play a variety of brass instruments including trumpet, trombone and euphonium, though trumpet was his strong point. Olin was happy playing, but his father was displeased. Olin was kicked out of the house and lives with his teacher, the man in the symphony. He wants to prove he is worth something to his father.

Athene~Oboe

"Pretty thinned out..." Athene began, attempting at a conversation to a shy, up-tight looking Japanese man sitting a few feet away from her. The auditions went awful for most people who tried out and many were sore losers. The prim concert hall had been transformed into a chaotic mess. The person who ran the entire establishment was picky. A phrase misplayed and you were immediately sent home.

"Yes." He replied, warily monitoring his thick accent.

Athene coughed, suddenly aware of her Greek lilt. She looked down and polished her instrument. Three reeds cracked in a day. This had become a serious investment. She shifted again and glanced up. This orchestra was only going to be about 10 strong? "What the hell are we doing here." She mumbled.

The guy nodded empathetically.

"So... I heard you playing... you're not half bad, where'd you learn?" She asked, trying to look nonchalant by organising her reed case.

Fuyuhiro

"Back home, where I came from, Okasan would play the piano to me." He smiled wearily. "Otousan wanted me to learn the piano as well since Okasan could no longer play for him. I liked playing so Otousan got me lessons and here I am."

"Okasan? Otousan?"

"I...I think the english word is mother and father."

"Oh."

"You play the instrument nicely. Utsukushii." He smiled apologetically. "I... I do not know the english word for your instrument..."

"It's an oboe," she chuckled. "How long have you been here for, for your language to be so broken?"

"I have only been in America for a year or so... and I am quiet so I barely talk to people..." He grimaced, embarrassed. "What is you're name?"

Corvin - Viola **Guys - Corvin now plays viola!

Corvin picked at his nails. His viola case rested neatly at his feet. Corvin sighed irritably, setting down his hands. The audition process was far too long. Corvin supposed that it was only to weed out inferior players, but none of the children in the room looked particularly formidable.

Corvin's gaze swept across the room, unimpressed. His eyes caught on a boy and girl who were conversing quietly. Corvin ran his tongue over his lower lip. Why not? Corvin listened in.

"It's an oboe," chuckled the girl. "How long have you been here for, for your language to be so broken?"

"I have only been in America for a year or so... and I am quiet so I barely talk to people..." Corvin repressed a snort. That much was obvious. Corvin already had a light grasp on English before he came to America. He had caught on quickly. "What is you're name?"

"Athene," replied the girl, smiling slightly.

Corvin stood up. "After the goddess?" he asked lazily. The girl looked at him, startled. Corvin smirked.

"I'm Corvin Darcel," he said impressively. Corvin waited for their reactions expectantly.

Lanoray - Flute-

I quietly held my flute case and stared at the ground. Most of the people here looked like they were older than me, and none of them really looked like they were born in America. If that was the case, I was sure that almost everyone who was totally Caucasian had an accent of some kind. I certainly did.

A quiet conversation was taking place between a Japanese boy and another girl, though what her nationality was, I couldn't tell. I blinked a couple times and looked around again at the people I was with. I was one of the few that actually looked awake; everyone else looked half asleep, if not out cold.

"Athene."

"Like the goddess?" A French guy asked.

I looked at the girl. She looked a little shocked, at the random intrusion on their converstation. I raised an eyebrow as I listened.

*can anyone put me in...

The person who led the audition sat before the stage. I looked around me and saw some conversation around. I shrugged shyly before the host instructed me to start. I gave an obedient nod before i started playing the violin.

For a few moments...i felt that the whole stage spring to life. I do not know for my eyes were close. By the time i was finished with my audition, the host gave a short clap before i walked on.

I walked to the next people who were going next and walked off trying not to gain any attention.

"That was beautiful..." i heard someone behind me. I looked back and saw a blonde hair girl with beautiful green eyes.

"Hvala..." i said before i realize that i was talking in my language...i looked at teh girl who seemed confuse.

"Sorry...i...mean...thank you." i said somewhat embarrased. "Have you got the audition?"

"Sorry, not yet...i'm still waiting...."
she said, "Oh yeah...my name's Chloe...whats yours?"

"Iclisa," i said to her before i noticed an arab looking girl preparinbg her drums before the host.
John McClane: Drop it. It's the police.
Tony: You won't hurt me.
John McClane: Oh, yeah? Why not?
Tony: Because you're a policeman. There are rules for policemen.
John McClane: Yeah. That's what my captain keeps telling me

Shanon

"S***" I swore under my breath. " Why am I always late!?" I ran down the hallway towards the music. It was so beautiful.
I slowed down, and wiped my hear out of my face. Deep Breath. OK. Good to good. I held onto my instrument case tightly and pushed the door open. That moment the girl that had played so beautiful stopped playing and went to her seat.
The door closed loudly behind me, and suddenly all attention was on me.
The guy that obviously ran this looked at me disapprovingly. "Name? Instrument?" He snarled.
"Shanon Miller. Bass." I replied.
"I hope you know that this is a serious business, and that being to late can ruin everything. I normally would send you back home, but since I'm not like that, I will give you a chance. Show us what you can do."
I went towards the podium with lots of eyes following me. Then I started playing. I lost myself in the music. Noticed nothing more. The story the tunes were telling me was so beautiful. I finished my piece. Stood up, and went to a spare place. The auditorium was silent.

*someone talk to her please*

Fuyuhiro

Hiro turned his eyes up towards the man who was now talking with the girl who had been kind enough to talk with him. Maybe... if he didn't make any comments towards me I could escape easily... I cringed knowing full well that it would just be plain rude to leave a conversation unended, as otousan always said. Being rude is being dishonourable.

Other names were being called to wait by the stage as it was coming close to his own turn to play. He grimaced again. Playing was something he did in private. Ever since otousan started publisizing him he had lost all nerve and often froze on stage before harshly battering the piano keys in an attempt at starting. Of course, he would level himself out and play, but the idea of so many people watching was unnerving.

"Athene Antemesaris," she murmured, obviously a little taken aback by the sudden intrusion.

I turned my eyes towards the others. The arab girl was about to make her big deput, which I was sure would be amazing since she lasted this long. This mean't mine was coming cup threateningly soon.

"Gomen-ne, Athene-san, but I must make my depature." He stood up a little shakily.

"You're leaving?" Athene asked.

"Watashi wa.. I mean my turn is soon. I... I... gomen." He bowed his head apologetically before turning towards the few people in the room. The word 'rakudai' filled his head over and over sending a chill down his back at the thought of imminent failure. Failure. Someone was just getting off stage as the arab girl played the drums. She looked sort of flustered from running, her bass still underneath her arm as she sat down to put it away.

I walked towards her, unsurely.

"Um... Kojin-sama, you played beautifully..."

She looked up at him, a little surprised someone was talking then returned back to her ministrations. "Thanks.'

"Um..." The short answer had left him with nothing to say. He hated talking to people, and he had no idea why he was even trying, but he was nervous. Maybe, talking would level his head so he would leave the piano keys unharmed when he got up on stage, but it seemed that was not so.

~~

**I no, Arya, he's a little hard to work with XD. Just say 'what did you say?' a lot LOlz.**

Shanon

"Thanks." I replied to the Japanese guy.
"Um..."
"My name Shanon." I said smiling. "Whats yours?"
"Fuyuhiro... I'm Japanese." He replied looking at his fingers.
He seemed shy. Normally I would've replied something sarcastic, but this guy was so nervous.
"What instrument do you play?" I asked instead.
"Piano."
"Yeah." I smiled. "You look like a piano player to me."
He smiled back looking at me properly for the first time.
"Where are you from?" He asked in his thick accent which I couldn't help smiling at.
"Capetown, South Africa. Have you been there?"
Fuyuhiro was about to answer when his name was called.
"Good luck. Talk to you later." I said.
"Yeah." he answered and walked towards the podium, where a grand piano stood, waiting for its master.
Fuyuhiro sat down. He looked a little bit nervous at first, but when his fingers touched the piano, all tension fell from his face and his fingers danced across the keys.
I had never heard someone playing the piano so perfect. Of course everyone I had heard up to now was perfect on their instrument, that was why they were here.
I sat back, closed my eyes and listened to the music, let myself fade into the colours of tunes.
