Disguise

When he heard her fall to the floor and knew he was the cause of it he went crawling back. He wasn't ready to talk about Holly and what had happened but he knew she deserved to know the truth. He hauled her into his arms and wiped the hair out of her eyes.

"Shhh... It's OK baby. I promise." He rocked her gently. "I'm GOING to tell you about Holly but you have to promise me you'll CALM DOWN and stop crying. OK?" he asked.

Dawn wanted to scream at him and tell him not to call her baby. That he was just playing with ehr heart again, but she decided she'd hear him out first. She tried to stop crying, but it was like she couldn't stop. She wiped at her eyes, but it didn't work.

"Please, stop crying." He cooed in her ear. She snuggled her face in his chest and took a deep breath trying to stop the tears. When she finally stopped the tears she pulled away from him and pulled her knees to her chest.

Dante ran his hand over his face and sighed. He sat down on one of her couches, the room was a dark red and the curtains were closed. Finally he took a deep breath and started.

"When I was fully human, I met her. She was so beautiful her name was Holly." He felt like he was being punched as he remembered everything that had gone on.

"She wasn't very tall, she had this beautiful red hair it looked like fire. She had bright blue eyes. She was always so happy ready to settle down. That september Holly and I had gotten married. I always thought she was too good for me but when I asked her she became exstatic. By November we found out she was pregnant. She and I were so excited we were going to be parents for the first time." he stopped and shook his head. "It was perfect. I loved her, she loved me and we had a baby on the way."

He didn't look at Dawn he didn't want to see her expression.

"Things didn't happen the way they were suppose to. She got farther and farther into her pregnancy. She got more and more sick. We thought it was nothing. We went to the Village witch... She told me in private if Holly and I were expecting a little girl, Holly would survive. If Holly birthed a boy they would both die. I told the witch if she could save Holly and the baby that she could have me forever as her slave." he shook his head. It hurt so much...

"Ezra." Dawn replied taking a deep breath. He nodded a little. "I-I'm sorry,y-you can leave if you w-w-want to." She got up and walked up to her room and layed on her bed closing her eyes.

"Alright, the baby and your wife will live." She saw Ezra saying to Dante.

"Thank you!" Dante jumped up and ran out of the tent. Dawn followed him out of it and to the one that held the most beautiful lady she'd ever seen.

"Dante." The lady called and he knelt beside her.

"I'm here, love, I'm here." He whispered kissing ehr hand.

"I'm not going to make it." She whispered.

"YEs, you are. I know you are." He replied kissing her forehead.

"No." She whispered. Dawn walked over and looked Holly. Holly suddenly looked up at her. "Take care of him."

"Who?" Dante asked. Holly looked back at him and smiled.

"Nothing, honey." She replied, she looked back and Dawn covered her mouth. "I need some water, please." Dante nodded and got up leaving. When he was gone Holly looked back at her.

"This is a dream, not happening." Dawn said crossing her arms.

"No, this is real. Your a witch, I'm a witch." Holly smiled weakly.

"Then why can't you save yourself?" Dawn asked.

"Because, we can't help ourselves, only others. Only another can help us. There is only in every country." Holly replied. "That isn't what matters. He'll be back in a few minutes. Take care of him for me. I know whats going to happen. Promise me you'll take care of him."

"But he'll be gone by the time I wake up." Dawn replied.

"Find him if he is. Please, I love him dearly. You do too." Holly took a deep breath. "Love him with all you have, please take care of him." Dante walked back in and handed Holly the water.

"Here, drink it." Dante said kissing Holly's forehead. She drank the water then looked at Dawn.

"I know you'll do it." Holly then turned and touched Dante's confused face.

Dawn sat up breathing hard. "Dante?" She called softly. "Please still be here."

Dante tried so hard not to let tears fall, he was in so much pain. His son, his wife. Neither had been able to survive because of him.

"Dante?" she asked. "What happened... To Holly and the baby?" she asked.

"My son was born at 2:46 AM, his name was Roman he was already dead when he left Holly's body... They couldn't stop the bleeding and Holly died." he said, he was now trembling. Remembering her cries of pain.

[i]"I'm so sorry, Da... I'm sorry I couldn't give you your son." Holly had cried. "I know how much you wanted him. I love you."[/i]

Then within three mintues she was gone. He'd stayed with Holly the entire night, even though she was already gone he had to say goodbye.

"Now you know who Holly is... and Roman... I'll stay away from you." he promised.

***Uh, did you read my last post? She left, not wanting to hurt him anymore, and fell into a trance. Holly really talked to her and all. She woke up and called to see if he was still around. I was going to have her go into another one late rwhere she saw the end result. I don't know how to make yours work after mine. :S

Dawn ran a hand through her hair. "It's up to you." She said softly. "YOu know more about all this then me. I'm sorry I made you talk about it." She pulled a jacket on and looked down at the ground.

Dante looked at Dawn.

"Don't do that." he said. "Don't shut me out because I told you my past. I know she'd want me to be happy but... after losing everything I have to get my revenge." he said clenching his fists.

She walked up to him they were both almost touching nose to nose.

Was she going to punch him? Yell at him? Walk away from him? What?

"If it means using me and hurting me to get your revenge, I don't care what I promised, I'm not going ot be apart of it." She replied.

"Promised?" He asked. She shut her mouth. "What do you mean?"

"Nothing, it's nothing, don't worry about it." She replied spinning around. He grabbed her wrist pulling her back around.

"What do you mean? Please don't make me make you tell me." He replied sternly.

"I promised someone I'd take care of you. Ok? Happy." She tried to pull free.

"Who?" He demanded.

"No one, it was probably just a dream." She replied angrily. "Just in the process of getting your revenge, don't hurt me or use me. Got it?"

"I would never use in the process. I never had used you." he replied. "Every feeling was 100% because I wanted you." he said to her. "You think I was using you? If that's what you think then I must really not mean much to you than a stranger would passing you on the street."
