One fine October noon a screaming baby was born in a place called Barrackpore. The fateful day was 2nd October of the year 1991 (as you may have noticed above) and the baby-girl was christened Sohini by her wonderful ophthalmologist parents. At home she loves her ever-loving grandparents and her elder brother, Soham who is her ‘bestest’ best friend.
Sohini was no Peter Pan and she grew up fast, from a screaming baby she soon turned into a chattering four year old when she wrote her poem-‘Donald is D\ Parrot is P\One!Two!Three!’
 Sohini dearly loves her second home-her school. In her leisure she can be seen with her head buried in English story books. Roald Dahl, J.K.Rowling, Christopher Paolini are her favourite authors. She also enjoys watching cartoons and loves listening to English pops especially by Westlife, Back Street Boys and Savage Garden. There’s one more thing Sohini enjoys and that is spending tie with her furry cats. She absolutely adores them. (Don’t you too?)
Sohini of course loves writing, both stories and poems and is currently working on a novel. You may spot her gazing at clouds but don’t be alarmed she’s not philosophical-she simply likes cloud-watching. She’s always giggling and laughing-with or without reasons, generally joined by either Soham or by her school-pals. :) :) She’ll talk ‘bout anything funny and interesting and if not funny she tries her best to make things funny. She’s an almost normal girl and has no superhuman (or super cat) powers but has a laughing (and fortunately not a flying) brain! She has never shaken her hands (or paws) with a Martian (or a mercury-ian) but would love to do so (are you an alien? If yes, then don’t be shy and please reach out your arm or tentacle or whatever you have instead of hands). She can sing a little and wonders why certain purple cats cannot fly.
This mad-bout-puss girl now lives and laughs with her family at Barrackpore (India). Sohini reads in the eighths standard and soon is going to turn 14 years (and not a 99 and half year old Tasmanian devil!) and is looking forward to make new friends. 8)
