Hayden-

What was he doing? "Are you crazy?" I hissed. "Someone could see you."

"I highly doubt that. I might as well make sure you make it to the mountains alive."

"I really doubt I need your help."

"Really? You willing to take that chance."

"Listen, I already got Susan and her family arrested, I don't need you getting into trouble."

"I'm a government agent. I don't think I'll get into too much trouble."

"You obviously doubt the government and the Grand Ruler." Were rebels always this cocky?

"Well, do whatever you want Christian. I'm only offering you a ride."

I looked at the vehicle and then at Jason. He was nuts, but I could get back quicker.

"Fine, but you have to let me off where I tell you." No sense in showing him where we were. For some reason I didn't trust him at all.

"Agreed."
"Oh please don't tell me you're archaeologists."

"Do you have a problem with archaeologists?"

"I'm a time traveler. I laugh at archaeologists."

Jason smiled at this. He was just waiting for the kid to realize that he was wearing hiking boots with all of his baggage and gear in the back seat of the car. Having a government car like this would be a major step to infiltrating the system in different parts of the country rather that just were the government positioned Jason. This is why he decided to give the boy a ride back. He figured that his time now would be better served helping the rebels and the christians get into harder to reach areas.

Jason pulled the car over into the underbrush when hayden told him to stop. He jumped out of the car, got out his backpack, and started to cover his car so that it would blend in just in case a government agent actually did end up coming all the way out here. That was still extreamily doubtfull.

"So you planned on coming with me this entire time? I should have known." Hayden shook his head looking at all of the gear Jason was bringing. Jason simply chuckled and started to follow Hayden up the steep slope of the mountain.

Hayden-

I breathed in deeply, trying not to feel frustrated. After my little incident with the resistance, I didn't feel too trusting towards them.

"So why do you feel so inclined to follow me?"

"We're both on the same side. Trying to bring the government down..."

"You must promise never to speak of what you see here."

"How bad could it be?"

I walked into the caves where we were met by the scouts. "Hayden, what are you doing back so early? And who is this?" He motioned to Jason.

"My cover was blown and I may have caused more damage than I wanted to. Jason is going to help us."

"He is?"

"I am?" Jason looked down at me. I shrugged.

"You wanted to come along," I reminded him and turned back to the scout. "I need to go talk to Max and explain the situation."
