Aftermath

The year is 2040, and the world is recovering from a devastating nuclear bombing that occurred just the year before. The destruction was staggering. Not a house, tree or building stood upon the ruined land below the great spewing mushroom cloud that rose triumphantly from the area. Millions where destroyed instantly and thousands began dropping dead from radiation sickness. The only ones unaffected were those who had been moved to an underground city.
The radiation altered the DNA of many things, up to an extent where people found they now harbored strange abilities or devastating abnormalities. But they lived and worked and slowly began to build their own civilization upon the scorched land. Primal instinct guided them to food and water, and forewarned them of the deformed creatures that as a result of the bomb, roamed the land.

Just as the pieces where being picked up, the new and self proclaimed 'government' of the city below the land decided that it was time they took over the surface; hiring mercenaries to destroy all those who had suffered from radiation in case they affected the others.

OK here are the rules-
-No graphic romance scenes, if it happened, then just say it happened and then say no more.
-I think there should be up to 15 characters and you are allowed to make up to 2 characters.
-No killing other peoples characters unless they haven’t commented in a long time or they ask for their character to be killed.
-Only one power/abnormality per character.
-Don’t make your character invincible.
-Have loads of fun!

Radiation survivor

History- Before the bomb was dropped, he and his family tried to sneak into the Underground but in the rush of being rejected, he got split up from his family. He took refuge in a bomb shelter, angry and alone at how another human being can throw an innocent person into a wasteland, to wait for a bomb to hit them. He survived the fallout and managed to gather himself some friends who felt the same way about the traitors of the Underground. He formed and lead the Resistance against the mercenaries and one day plans to lead his tiny army into the city and take back what is rightfully theirs. He spends a lot of time looking for his sister on missions. (I'll make her later)

Appearance- Handsome, tall with sandy blonde hair and green eyes

Personality- Hardworking and determined. He can be a little cocky and reckless sometimes. He can be fun around his friends but mistrustful of strangers He knows no fear and would die for his friends if needed.

If is affected by radiation, then how- The radiation give him a gift that greatly helps him in the war against the Underground. He has inhanced reflexes which makes him a worthy challenger in a fight. He also had the ability to know how something works just by touching it. He has gathered lots of knowledge this way and so builds machines and weapons for the Resistance.

Name: Riley (Rye) Anderson

Radiation survivor

History- Riley's family was too late to get into the underground city and he suffered a lot. He watched his father get crushed, his mother die from radiation sickness, and his brother deform into a derranged creature that he hasn't seen after a fight. Miraculously he survived, almost unscathed.

Personality- He doesn't like to open himself to anyone and is scared when approached by other humans, not knowing whether they are creatures like his brother.
Is affected by radiation- after the bomb exploded his eyes turned yellow, his hands turned a pale green in which can absorb energy and then shoot it back. The only problem is that if he absorbs too much he can kill anything.

Preferred weapon- He's a pacifist and hates fighting.

Other- Is up for love. I won't be posting his brother.

Name- Azrael Ringo

Age- 18

History-

Azrael, nicknamed Arrow (also preferred name) lived a normal life pre-radiation, but the day that it came his entire life was devastated. Arrow's home crumbled to dust around him, his parents caught in the rubble were not granted instant death and he had to watch as they gasped in breath after breath of the radiated toxic air. While watching them finally take their last painful agonising breaths, something inside of him snapped. Something considered valuable in many people, a conscience; Arrow's conscience broke. He had saved his little sister, a five year old, but she suffered from the radiation as well, causing deformation of the lungs, and heart. Every breath was painful for her, and as an act of mercy Arrow ended his own sister's life. She died smiling. At that moment he also lost something else, something which makes a human human. The ability to feel love.

Personality-
Arrow used to be a happy go lucky guy. The kind of guy you wouldn't want to date, but be besties with, both guy and girls. But after the radiation of the world, all that changed. He has a demon in his heart and shadows over his soul. Arrow is very pessimistic and has a very dark wry humour. He is angered quickly.

If is affected by radiation, then how?- His eyes they are golden, they have the ability to shame people out. To make them answer to the horrendous things they have done, to make them feel guilty and bad about all the bad actions they have taken.

Preferred weapon-
His fists. He has an accurate light fist technique which targets main veins in your body. If he hits correctly you can either be rendered unconscious or suffer from instant death, or if he is really in a bad mood, a slow painful death.

History-

Jess grew up in your average, middle class suburbia. She was a quiet girl and everyone knew it. But she just grew up: Elementary school, middle, high. Mom, dad, and a sister. Then the bomb dropped, and she was seperated from her family. They made it to the underground, but she didn't. Somehow by luck or fate, she survived.


Personality-
Usually quiet and polite, Jess tends to hide her emotions. That is, physically (see below). She's a sweet girl who doesn't really know much about defending or fighting. But she's willing to learn and patient about it.

Her eyes change color with her mood. Drastically change. Light brown when happy, green when calm, blue when sad/upset, hazel when with mixed emotions, and dark brown/black when angry.

Mercenary


History-

Brianna grew up in a normal, happy home, wrestling with her two brothers for fun. She became a complete tomboy. When she was nineteen she fell in love and married. Then came the bomb. She was determined to prove just how tough she was by surviving. Her husband tried to get her to go to a shelter, but she was stubborn. When it hit, he was still trying to get her to go. She watched him die in pain and agony, and lived to tell about it. She went to the underground since there was nothing on the land, and started to fight for a living. So when the government was looking for mercenaries, she was first in line.


Personality-

Street-smart and witty, think Rita from the movie "Flushed Away". She's not afraid to speak her mind, but knows when to shut up. She's sarcastic and loves a good laugh, but doesn't have many friends. Once you get to know her, you'll find that she's upbeat and humorous off the job. But when she's doing her job she's cut off and a bit dark.

Chameleon. Her skin tone changes, from tan to brown, without her wanting it too. Each color usually lasts between six to twelve hours before changing again.

Name- Penny 'Flick' Greenwood

Age- 17

Appearance: Medium height, slim, golden blonde hair with blue eyes.

Radiation survivor

History- She got her nickname from her brother due to her optimistic and always happy nature (Flick comes from Felicity, meaning happiness or bliss) When she and her family got split up she was taken in by another family, who sheltered her during the bombing. She never had a chance to repay the kindness shown to her as they died from radiation sickness days after the bomb hit. The only survivor in the kind family was their dog, Rocky, which she now looks after and takes with her everywhere.
Since then, she had wondered the wasteland looking for her brother. She has heard he has started up his own band of fighters, who plan to storm the Underground.

Personality- Optimistic even in these darkest of times. Quick to trust, fun and friendly.

If is affected by radiation, then how- She can manipulate atomic structure or how atoms behave within an object. For example, she can make an object heavier or lighter by changing the number of nuetrons in an atom. She can melt or solidify something by making atoms in something vibrate more or less. These are just a few examples

Preferred weapon- She carries a rusty, sellotaped old hunting rifle that she salvaged from a ruin.

History- Leo was part of a very rich big family, always an outcast because of the stuff he liked.

Underground resistance.
History-
His father died on the way to see him born, in a car crash (if the cities have cars, if not he was shot during a mugging.) Along with that, his mother died giving birth to him. He was placed in a foster home after this, he had no relative that were alive. The family was abusive, and he was a trouble maker. Eventually, at the age of 8, he went overboard and was placed in an orphanage. He never had luck getting adopted. He was mad at life, and rebelled with pranks. Elaborate pranks. At 16 he ran away from the home, and started working odd jobs. Still doing this. Most of his money though is spent on repairing damage from his pranks.

Appetence: what ever he feels like. But usually he keep his hair black and short, but somehow messy. His eyes are bright blue, and energetic. Tall and lean is his body, not really a muscle man, he prefers a more small look, to make his strength seem more amazing.

Personality- He is not a prankster any more like he was as a kid, but he is not a mature adult either. He likes to kid around and joke, and sometimes he goes a little to far. But he is not all bad. He is passionate and kind. He always tries to help people in need, and really only dislikes the mean, greedy and well off. He is a hard worker, who tries to make his work fun. He has a natural charisma that makes people just like him right away, and keep liking him.

If is affected by radiation, then how?- He can make illusions. He can invade the mind and make you see other things, very useful for pranks. He can make you see or not see what ever he wishes you to, and make you feel like it is real.

Preferred weapon- A metal staff, and a knife. He sometimes places the knife on the staff's head.
