Name: Matthias McCarthy

age- 21

gender- male

appearance- tall and muscular. He has a shock of dark hair that is messy and naturally stands sort of up straight. He has golden eyes that seem to glitter.

personality- Before he was kind of cruel and mean, he had no real friends, because he always used people for his own ends. However, when he 'died' he saw his life and how he had wasted it and he sold his soul in the hopes tht in that year he could right the many wrongs he had done to the people around him.

history- He was a bad boy. He rode around on a motorcycle and raised hell wherever he went. He killed a couple of people, and actually enjoyed doing it. He was genuinely evil. One day though he was running from the cops after stealing jewelry and he was hit by a car. While he lay bleeding on the ground he saw all of the evil he had done in the world, and it tortured him.

power- He has a mark on his arm that allows him to mutate demonic energy. The mark spreads the more he uses it and by the end of the year it will consume him and kill him.

reason- Chance at redemption
other-
Words - so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

*Alright enough people have joined, if anyone else wants to join, PM me first. As for those who reserved spots but haven't made characters they will just have to play catch up.*

Kaden Tierney-

New Year's Eve

Kade glanced up from staring at his drink. The bar was crowded with people and there was Christmas music still playing, even though it was New Year's Eve. A typical scene at this time of year. Most everyone else was focused on the television, pretty soon it would be time for the countdown.

He looked across the table at the woman sitting across from him. Exotic, that was the word to describe her, she had skin the color of milk chocolate, high cheekbones, full lips, a pretty heart shaped face, and wild golden brown hair. He couldn't tell what color her eyes were, she wore sunglasses even though it was the middle of the night.

Sighing, Kade pushed the drink away, he really didn't feel like getting drunk. The woman leaned forward and smiled at him as the count down began.

One, two, three!

"So tell me Kaden. If you could have one wish, what would it be?"

Four, five, six!

Shaking his head, Kade looked at the woman. "That's easy. I'd wish for my sister to get better. But a miracle like that's not going to happen."

Smiling, the woman lowered her voice even more. "But if it could, what would you give for a cure?"

Seven, eight, nine!

"Anything." Kade snapped. "I'd give anything if it meant Sarah would get better."

Ten, Eleven!

Reaching up the woman pulled off her sunglasses and opened eyes that were completely red, no pupil, no white. Only a red like blood. She smiled again, and this time it was closer to a shark's grin. She asked. "Anything?"

Twelve!

Six Weeks Later:

Kaden woke to the now familiar scent of something burning, groaning he rolled over in his bed and swore. For the past three weeks, whenever he slept something had caught fire in his room, it had gotten to the point where Kade actually kept a bucket of water by his bed.

This time, it was a stack of novels on his night table, by this point they were little more then smoldering ashes. Kade glanced at the clock, and swore, he had just fifteen minutes to get to the hospital to pick up Sarah, she was coming home today, the first time in more then a year.

He bolted out of bed and across the hall to the bathroom. Luckily, his apartment was close to the hospital, so it only took him twenty minutes, to get there.

When he stepped out of the car his gaze flew to the entrance way, where he saw Sarah sitting on a bench, her waist length black hair was in a tight braid. When her gaze caught on him she laughed and waved, shouting to be heard over the distance. "Hey! Big brother, I'm over here!"

"It was worth it." Kade thought as he ran towards her. "For this moment alone. It was worth it."

*For those who have sick relatives, they can meet up at the hospital, also I was wondering if Kade could claim Jen?*

Name- Chase Venndet

Age- 18

Gender- Male

Appearance- Intense icy blue eyes and a long, somber face with high cheekbones. Palely freckled skin tone that contrasts his shaggy black hair cropped close and spiked. A full expressive mouth and a square jawline. A lean, ropy build and a shadowy way of walking. Wears baggy jeans and nondescript tight-fitting dark shirts.

Personality- Extremely bitter, suspicious, and angry. Though passive most often, he makes a formidable opponent when angered. Trusts only his instincts and expects betrayal. His only confidence lies in out-thinking or out-fighting others, so most see him as a threat. Sometimes can seem a bit primal- more animal than civilized person. His sarcastic mouth and odd humor tend to get him in trouble

History- Chase feels no one has ever wanted him around. Orphaned at birth, kicked out of orphanages, and shifted around among adoptive families, it's easy to see why. His anger drove him to live, but that was about it- there was nothing to look forward to. So when he was approached by a shady stranger who told him he could have power behind his wildest dreams, Chase listened and was drawn in.

Power- Converses with animals; sounds pathetic but not the way he uses it.

Reason- Chase was tricked into selling his soul, but technically did so willingly. He was told that he could gain great power, and in such a way that he believed every word. Now he regrets his own stupidity.

Other- Up for love

Raquel Sanders

I woke up in my room. My head rolled from side to side. Yesterday's grief rolled into today. I was so stupid yet I would probably do it again. I still loved him.

I had promised to meet up at the hospital to give him back the rest of his stuff and vise versa. I can't believe it was over. Everything was lost.

I remembered the day Jacob was hit by the car. There was so much blood. He was nearly dead. I was with him, right beside him, only I stepped back, out of the road. He didn't.

When I saw all that blood and how his breathing changed. How labored it was I couldn't help but cry. The police officer had shouted out to me those few deadly words.

"There is always a price to pay to save a life. Will you pay the price?" Of course I had siad yes. Without bothering to think about it. I had sold my soul. I sold it for the man who was leaving me for another. He didn't want me anymore, just because I wouldn't take our relationship any further. What a pig. As much as I hated to admit it, I still cared about him.

I got up and dressed, brushing through my hip length jet black hair. My bangs were definetly messy, but I didn't have time to do anything with them. I quickly dressed put on a little make-up, grabbed the small package by my bed and rushed out of the door.

At the hospital I noticed all the colorful signs. Someone tapped me on my shoulder. It wasn't Jacob, but another guy I didn't know. What could he possibly want?

<Anyone can jump on in (: >
Hermione, shut your ungodly, lopsided mouth and quit interrupting! 20 points from Gryffindor. You know, for the brightest witch of your age you can sure be a dumba** sometimes. *smiles* 10 points to Dumbledore!

Aaron Jendra -

I sighed and looked up. It's been about one and a half months since I made the deal. Jeff was still Mother's favorite, so I'd still have to try harder. And Father... he was never really satisfied, but he seemed to like Jeff better than I did. I'll show them. I was never worthless.

The park was close. It wouldn't take that long to walk there. Maybe ten minutes, tops. Mother always said that the park was a good place to be. She was probably talking about Jeff, but still... She probably wouldn't mind. She always ignored me, so I could say just about anything. Father would be harder to convince, though. Maybe, studying extra in the library? No, he'd just tell me to use what I have. Oh well, I guess I'd have to cross that bridge when I got to it.

My mind made up, I grabbed a hat and snuck out. Nobody'd notice me until I was long gone. It was always that way.

(Go ahead, JustDance)
There once was a cat.
He wasn’t particularly fat.
Fuzzy was his favorite mat.
And really, that was that.

Oh, but did you really think so?
Keep reading, it’s just the start of the show!
And as for how far this tale will go…
Well, even the cat doesn’t know.
