8-28-05 (The Most Poetic Day I Shall Ever Live)

If I live to be two thousand
long years old, then never
shall I forget the rareness,
awe, and sure, pure
splendor
of not getting caught.

I found this quite suspensful (is that a word?). I liked the way the poem was very drawn out, for its length, and found myself thinking until the end, "what is it, what was rare, what are you talking about?" And the wondering didn't stop there, now I'm thinking, "well what did he do, why wasn't he caught doing it, when did he do it, where", etc. You provoked a reaction in the reader, and that's what makes this poem good, I think. The shortness of the poem works well, as does the word "splendor" on a line on its own, and now I'm rambling because I can't think of anything bad to say about it :P
Matt.

The best example of being succint that there is.

It was kinda neat.

Its good. But I'm not really sure how it can be bad. This seemes like the kind of thing you would put at the beginning of a story, you know? like you'd write this and then you'd start to explain what you did that you didn't get caught for. But its a intresting little poem.

Good. Builds up to the last line, and you leave us asking, "What? What?"

Any explanation given and it would've been ruined. Excellent job.

this is also an in-joke, for those rare fools who lived it with me.

I liked it. Can't really say much else about it.

There's something about short poems that's just so...beautiful. Only if they're good though. And this one is good...
