Boarding School

May~~ Thursday Morning

"What time is it?" I rasped

Alyse sighed. "Enough time. You can still have and shower and eat breakfast and go snog Matt before class."

I smiled and attempted to jump up, only to fall flat on my face. Alyse had to help me up, my back ached, from the bad landing I made.

"What happened last night?" Alyse asked as she helped me up

"I fell off the kitchen ledge.."

"WHAT?" Alyse exclaimed,

"It's ok! it's ok!" I tried to get her to calm down, "Aren't you excited about the par-tay?" I got off onto another topic.

"Yes" e both squeed and went to the kitchen a morning where coffee could not be avoided, like it or not.

Wow ... it must be contagious ... I had it too. Maybe I'm the culprit for giving it to everyone.

Alyse~

Alyse sat in the kitchen-- where Leighton and Nick had moved away from-- and was sipping at her tea. Her phone rang. Alyse picked it up. A text from her mother.

Hey hon! We'll be @ ur parent's day. Meet us @ the courtyard entrance @ 12 and we can go from there. How's that boy doing that you mentioned to me be4? The one that asked u to the dance?

Alyse blushed. She hadn't seen him much. He's ... busy, actually. We might be going out 4 crosscountry soon, though.

That's cool, but what about ur music? Dad'll be mad if you skip it.

Alyse mulled this over. Oh yeah, music. She'd missed it that week because of her cold. I've already missed three days this week becuz of bronchitis. I promise I won't miss anymore.

Okay, promise. We'll see you sunday at 12!

Alyse snapped her phone shut. This mom wasn't her real mom. Her real mom had divorced her father when she was four. This mom followed everything her dad said as if he were some God. She hated that about her.

Alyse grabbed a bagel from the fridge and stuck it in. Man, she really needed someone to talk to!

After my second shower that day and when i had finally gotten my hair to cooperate, i walked out of my room and skipped merrily to the kitchen. The coffee had kicked in and I noticed Alyse at the table my herself, munching a yummy bagel.

"Ya look like a plane just crashed into you." I smiled at her and sat down.

She smiled weakly and nodded witha mouth full o' bagel.

"Ya wanna tell me whats wrong?"

Alyse~

Alyse wiped the corner of her mouth and gave May her best befuddled expression. "N-Nothing," She gave another weak attempt at a smile.

May crossed her arms, "Yeah, you're expression is totally 'nothing'."

"I'm just ... pondering the questions in life."

"Yeah, sure," May snorted.

"You know I was just being sarcastic, right?"

"Well, you're very bad at sarcasm, then," May shrugged it off, determined to get the answer from Alyse. "Seriously, what's up?"

Alyse thought quickly. "i got this new music peice, and its really hard, and I have to learn to play it for a festival coming up and I think I'm failing."

May obviously didn't believe her, still. You horrible liar! Alyse yelled at herself inside, determined to prove to may that absolutely nothing was wrong!.

I put my elbows on the table and looked her straight in the face, "You can tell me." I said plainly
She looked at me quizzically and I smiled back.

She sighed, "Well it's.."

Alyse~

"Well, it's... it's not that big of a deal. I'm just letting my jealousy get the best of me. I haven't seen Tony much this week, and I actually do like him, but I'm afraid he feels opposite to that. He's just been so busy. And then there's my dad! What if my dad wants to meet Tony to see if he's suiting enough for me to go out with?"

May mulled this over for a moment, "You want me to go talk to Tony?" She got up and was about to walk out when Alyse yanked her back by her arm. She winced. "Oops, sorry," Alyse blushed. "Just-Just, don't tell him, okay? I'm just overreacting!"

MATT- Friday morning

When I woke up I took a quick shower and then got dressed. I went over to May's room to see if she was up. Alyse opened the door and then let me by with a sigh.

"You ok?"

"...Yeah"

"Right." I said sarcastically.

She gave me a wierd look and then went into her room. I walked over to the counter where May was sitting. She looked horrible.

I laughed, "What happened to you?"

She stuck her tongue out at me.

May~~

"You have my word." I rose my arm like I was in court.

She smiled for once and there was knock on the door, "I got it" she mumbled.

She left the kitchen and I sat on the counter again, sipping my sixth or seventh cup of coffee. It tasted horrible but it was the only thing keeping me from falling on my face. Matt walked in and looke me over.

"What happened?" he laughed when he saw me and I answered him with a stuck out tongue.

"I fell off a two story building" I said plainly

"What??" he glided over and hugged me.

"It's not that serious. Do you see me on crutches?"

"I'm happy not to see you in a coma." he said seriously

"Come on it's not that serious!" I laughed.

"Yes it is May." at that I sipped my coffee.

"Now what happened exactly?" he leaned up against my perch.

"Some random person was out taking pics and took a pic of me jumping from the kitchen window sill to yours, and I fell" I sipped again.

*ahem* My fault, sorry. The writer's block, that is. I had it for 2-3 weeks ...

MATT

I muttered something about edward.

"What were you thinking?"

"Umm... I was thinking I would come see you."

"No windows any more."

"Ok fine."

I shrugged and pulled her into a hug. She sighed so i pulled her back to arms length and gave her a long kiss.

May~~

"But but but" I let him out at arms length

"What?"

"I sleep better in your room" i touched his nose.

"Fine i'll keep the door open,"

"Not as fun as window jumping but I'-" he kissed me again long and soft.

My arms coiled around his upper waist since I was still on the counter.

MATT

We kissed for several minutes until it was time to go. I gave her one last kiss and then we left for classes. I didn't sleep in first period, but sat and looked at May. This morning I had noticed her eyed for the first time. They were very bright blue. They were awesome.

Here is what Alyse's day will consist of since she is still slightly sick.

Alyse~

She must've fallen asleep at some point, because when she woke up, everyone was gone and the clock read eleven. She got up with a sigh and pushed back her now matted and disformed hair, and got up. She needed to go see the nurse. She was feeling much better.

As she walked down the halls, she couldn't help but hear the buzz for the party tonight. Alyse couldn't help the grin that creeped onto her face. Good. More people to watch the jocks get humiliated, Alyse thought as she pushed open the door.

The nurse said she was fine, but to keep taking a decongistent for a little while until she felt completely cleared up. On her way back, Alyse noticed the sign for the cross-country team. She stopped and began reading.

I doodled all over my notebook, avoiding Matt's stare. I knew if I made contact I might as well lose control so I kept to myself. My eyes flashed when the teacher called on me for the fifth time, I hated this class so boring and dull and i knew the answers without thinking.
Afterwards me and Matt walked to out next class and I heard the buzz of people excited for the party, I evilly laughed on the inside.

"What are you thinking bout?" Matt asked

"The party" I smiled

"You can't be that excited, we don't even know who is throwing it" He rolled his eyes.

"It's going to be fun!" I smiled more

"Probably just some guys planning to get some girls drunk and get them easy," he chuckled, "Or some girls desperate for some attention"

I glowered at him and then sped up, letting go of his hand.

"May!" he called after me and attempted to run after me. He got stuck behind a group of slow walkers and i quickly turned into Chemistry.

MATT

I dont know why she tried to run away, we had the next class together. I stepped into the class and sat down at the desk.

"What was that about?"
