I would say anywhere between 15k-80k, which I guess is kind of far out because 80k is a lot, but when you consider that a lot of novels published now range somewhere around 200k, if not way, way more than that. I'm not sure you need to worry about word count. A novella is just too big to be a short story and too small to be a novel. Poor novella needs a place!
“It's necessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to live.” ― Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo
I guess it't time for me to pull out my copy of the DVD of "The Revolution," and fast forward to Valley Forge for a nice visual. Ya know, totally submerse myself into the world of death. *waves flag unenthusiastically*
Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses. — Ann Landers
