The noise of crunching metal, the stench of burning rubber, the taste of noxious fumes in the air. I could see the clouds of white smoke rising up in front of me and feel my insides churning with fear.
Do I have your attention now? Good, because you’re in for the ride of your life. Literally.
It started on a day like any other. All stories do. It’s just that days like any other seem to be more exciting for some people. Like superheroes with special powers, of fire fighters. But I digress.
An ordinary day was about to become extraordinary. But who is the judge of extraordinariness anyways? Is it who the extraordinariness happens too who decides, or the onlookers? Either way this was extraordinary. But I’m off topic again. I’ll get to the point.
Today there is going to be a car crash.
I know, I know. There’s probably at least of those a day somewhere in the world, what makes this one different? The answer? Nothing. Unless you’re a part of it. And it’s my job to stop you from being a part of it.
I’m going to do this because I’ve been there already. I heard, smelled, tasted, saw and felt what it was like. I know all there is to know. At least I think I do. Maybe. And even if I don’t I sure don’t want to experience it again myself, I don’t want you to have to experience it either.
If you don’t know yet how this random person has popped up in your car I just want to tell you that I’m dead. Gone. I’ve met my maker and decided that I’d much rather help out you folks then go to heaven or something like that. I can do that later, but right now this is more important.
Because right now you have two choices in front of you. Well actually, you probably have more than that, like whether or not to pick up a burger on your way to work or whatnot, but what I mean is that you have two choices that pertain to what I’m saying.
You can either drive safe or die.
It sounds like a bit of a stretch doesn’t it? But I’m dead, and trust me, it’s not a long one. Because I can sort of see how this day of yours is going to turn out, and that really is going to be a crucial choice for you.
I know you’re going to die sooner or later, everyone does. But how long your life is going to be is up to this, it’s up to you, right here, right now. Sounds easy right? Pick to live. But it’s not quite that easy.
Because there are a lot of things that affect your driving, road conditions, other people on the road, how much sleep you’ve had, whether or not you’re distracted by a cell phone or whatnot. It’s hard to remember each and everyone. Hard, but importan---
WATCH OUT!
You know what, never mind all that stuff I was saying. It seems you’ve already made your choice. Oh, and when you see the big man up there, don’t tell him I tried to help you out. It would really hurt my reputation.
