First, an introduction.
Hello, I am Reyu.
Done.
Yes, I have noticed that there already is a Dragon Rider Storybook. I seek naught to steal writers or to suggest anything in a negative way, I only wish to see if I can, actually, pull of a decent Storybook. I've always wanted to try and this will be the first time I have taken it upon myself to create one. I am very lax when it comes to rules but every Storybook has to have them. Knowledge of the books is a must or you will be lost, so please don't join if you have no idea who Christopher Paolini is. It is he whom creates the rules of Alagaesia. (http://www.alagaesia.com/)
RULES:
1.) This is the most important rule. No god mode. Pretty much the first rule of every Storybook.
2.) Respect your fellow writer.
3.) Zero tolerance for idiocy. As long as you present yourself in a well established manner, then clearly, you are not an idiot and this rule does not apply.
4.) You may kill other characters as long as it is done in an admirable fashion.
Sub rules: 1.) Remember it is harder to kill someone than you may think
2.) All spells must use the ancient language, no exceptions.
3.) If you screw up with the ancient language, the spells will not work exactly as planned.
(pray you edit before I see it for I will inspect every character vs character battle)
4.) Dragon Riders fight with honor, unless you are corrupted by evil. So announce your duel and let the role playing take you where it may.
5.) lastly, please remember that unless clearly stated previously, you have no wards.
5.) All ages are welcome to participate.
6.) You may do anything in this world. You may adventure by yourself and see many things, you may seek out and kill Ra'zak or Shades and claim much glory. You may team up with other characters and accomplish goals or seek out some long forgotten treasure. You may even start wars or end them. Strategy is key. Play off each other for maximum role playing.
7.) Perfect grammar or spelling is not required but please, please, please have an understanding of it.
8.) There is no page limit, but I would ask of you to keep it under a couple pages. Unless you just gotta write, if so, I forgive you.
One other note I would like to mention before I proceed is that distance does exist and it takes longer than a day to travel from Carvahal to Uru'baen. Also, unless you know the location of someone... You don't know where they are. If you are hunting someone, you must follow all the rules a hunter would have to follow.
CHARACTERS:
Human
Dwarf
Elf
Dragon
Ra'zak
Shade
Lethrblaka
Urgals
All characters, with the exception of Ra'zak and Dragons and Lethrblaka, have the potential to become spell casters. Ra'zak have a paralyzing breath and inhuman speed and strength. Dragons cast spells from emotion. Powerful emotion.
To become a Shade you must be Human, Dwarf or Elf and be lucky enough to summon and then capture spirits and enslave them. Once you become a Shade, whatever name you had before is changed to something more... Shade like. If you wish to become a Shade, PM me, and I will roll a D20. If I roll under ten you die, ten or above you become a Shade, natural twenty and I will award something special. Storytelling and description may help sway the roll of the dice.
If you wish to be a Dragon you start out as an egg, no if's and's or but's. As an egg you stay until someone touches your egg. Once they touch it you may choose that person to be your Rider... Notice the "may". Dwarfs cannot become Dragon Riders.
Standard rules for character sheets apply, so just follow my example:
PM me for any questions you may have. Any specifics that need to be illuminated.
My first submission follows. (If I have forgotten any major rules let me know and I will review them)
