Welcome Kim, I think this is just the place for you if you want supportive criticizing for your book.

HI, I'm new,(well obviously) and I just wanted a site for writers. That's why I'm here. I found it...Well, I like to write sad novels where the main character dies. And poetry. And I do a little drawing once in a while. I'm a girl, and I like to write, so apparently that means no one understands me at school...so if someone could check out my posts...Getting feedback from my mom doesn't count. That would be super awesome!!!!

:elephant: :elephant: :elephant: I've never seen any of these before. COOOLLLL!!!!

Apparently the world isn't DARK BLUE. Or CLOUDY. Just...BRIGHT. Go figure. I need sunglasses.

Yeah, I'm new too, and wouldn't mind answers akin to Krystal's. :)
Where does one go to get started? Should we just dive into the posting boards, or should we mingle about in the Lounge?

Well, one way to start getting familiar with the site would be to look in the literary forums, read some work from whichever section you prefer, and offer a critique. A critique (or review, the terms are rather interchangeable here) involves giving the author constructive criticism about the piece and maybe mentioning which parts you liked or didn't like.

The best part about reviewing is that you learn a bit about your own writing as well.

Anyways, after you've looked over some other works, sure! Feel free to post some of your works and get some reviews. You can do that by going to the top toolbar, and under 'read/write', you click 'submit your work'. ^_^

A good way to meet new people would be to post a thread here in the welcome forum if you haven't, or to pop into the chat room from the link on the front page.

Also, feel free to PM me if you have any questions, guys! ^_^ Welcome to YWS!

Hi Maisie, welcome to YWS! I'm Amy, nice to meet you. :)

If you have any questions or want a review, feel free to send me a PM (private message). I'm usually online (*nerd*) and always happy to help.

Why not tell us a little bit more about yourself? What do you write and read? Any favourite authors?

See you around!

Ah, welcome to YWS!

Dreamer, my sister, is a JK Rowling fan. To be honest, I've never read Harry Potter or any of her other books, though I know the story (mostly). I suppose I should. =P

Enjoy your stay at YWS and let me know if you need anything. =D

Thank you for the warm welcome, I'm sure that I will love to interact with everyone and share stories and poems.

So, please, oh please, we beg, we pray, go throw your TV set away, and in its place you can install a lovely bookcase on the wall.
