Welcome Karma! I'm Vyper or whatever you want to call me and welcome to YWS! Here, you generally inrtoduce yourself, say little tidbits about yourself, other stuff, basically more about you. And I just love the spinnin panda. It's so adorably snuggleable.

Now, before you post your stuff, I guess it's time to explain the rules. Here, we have a few rules, very simple, that need to be followed. I'll give up some of the more famous ones really quick.

1. Keep the 2:1 review ratio. That means you have to review at least two works before posting your own. It makes sure that everyone gets feedback for their work.

2. Write properly: no using chatspeak, use proper grammar, spelling, and capitalization. It makes everything you write easier to understand.

3. Rate your works properly. Here, we have ratings such as R, PG-13, stuff you'll see. If you rate your works, they'll be on the front page, so everyone can see. And if you have explicit scenes and/or the f-word, you must rate it R. And keep swearing confined to the literary forums.

Glad to see you've joined YWS! I'm sure it will be of a great help to you and your writing!

I know it can seem big and confusing at first, but you'll learn your way around.

Here are three basic rules you should know:

1. 2:1 ratio. This means that you'll need to review 2 pieces for every 1 you post. It helps ensure that everyone gets a review.

2. No chatspeak! As this is a writing forum, you're asked and expected to use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. No caps, either. Abbreviations such as brb, lol, and gtg are okay once in a while, but don't overdo it.

3. Rate your work! F-bomb or explicit scenes are automatic R ratings. If you rate your work, anything but a piece with an R rating will show up on the front page for all of YWS to see!

Hi,
I am a new member of the young writers association too. So far, all of you writers seem to be very nice people who share the same interests as I do. I am not only here to share my work, but I am also here to make friends. I love to write! In addition, I love to read other’s work as well.
I love any kind of stories such as mysteries, romance, and adventure. However, my favorite would have to be those good old Westerns. Not many teenagers are interested in them, but I believe they bring out the true beauty and raw spirit of the American Wild West that still lingers in our hearts.
Feel free to give me advice or tips if you happen to come across any of my stories!

Hey everybody, I'm new here so I thought I would start by posting here

I love to write and haven't been doing enough of it lately due to various reasons but I am planning on writing heaps more in the near future.

I love reading my favorite books at the moment being the Alpha force series by Chris Ryan, Under an English Heaven, Angels and demons, The Sisterhood of the travelling Pants series and I could go on and on and on about books I have read and loved.

Anywayat the moment I am working on what was supposed to be a short story written for my best friend starring the two of us on an adventure but it has kind of grown much bigger then I first though it would. I'm in a love hate relationship with it because I know where I need to go but don't know how to get there, but I'm slowly figuring it out.

I love watching movies, my favorites at the moment being Dan in Real Life, Transformers, Iron Man and Definately Maybe. My all time fsvorite would have to be Singin in the Rain, I know its old but it is funny and sweet and I love it. If you haven't watched it, please do so. But yeah, I like old movies, and some people would find that wierd.

I haven't read one for a while but you've reminded me that I really should buy some, I own a lot of books and it isn't right that none are Westerns. Eowyn: Hullo! You have a very pretty username, my dear and it's good to have such an interesting member on the site, though I don't find you weird for liking old movies. Singing in the Rain is lovely and I'm quite a fan of some classics so no worries. Angels and Demons is excellent, not one of my favourites but a great read and I've not read any of the others, might check them out. I keep meaning to read the sisterhood books at some point. It's lovely to meet you! Ever need help around the site or would like a review, feel free to pm me =)

Glad you already like YWS! It's great for improving on your writing and meeting tons of new people. Being new is tough at first, navigating around the site, and not knowing anyone but you'll adjust soon. Just post all around the site to meet lots of new people.

Some rules:

1~ For every story/poem post you have to do 2 reviews. That way everything gets review and we don't get filled with posts.

2~ No chatspeak and all capitals. We are writers, so try to keep your grammar, punctuation, and spelling. ^__^

Hi everyone. You can call me Pi. ... and I don't think I know anyone here...

My favorite things to write are novels, despite the fact that I don't finish very many of them.

I love fantasy and have recently become obsessed with steampunk. I can spend hours on the internet looking at steampunk guitars and flashdrives and CD covers. Abney Park is my favorite bands (what's not to like? They have a song called "Airship Pirate").

The last book I read was Mortal Engines. It's about cities that roll around on wheels and eat each other. It was awesome.

I'm rather insane, but you might not be able to tell at first.

And yes, in case it wasn't obvious, I like math.

Hey guys. I just dropped by to introduce myself, I'm still new around here and I still find the general interface (especially for the the profile toggling) a tad bit too confusing but the forums are great. Thanks for the useful info.

Anyway, on interests, I generally enjoy rock music, though I do like a little bit of hip-hop too; I used to compose songs for our high school band; but I'm here to take writing a bit more seriously.

I enjoy reading, though I haven't read much; in terms of poetry for entertainment, I enjoy poems by Gertrude Stein and ee cummings. I like the complex yet simple style that projects well both when presented visually and orally.
