In the story I'm currently working on it features a band I created. In the beginning, when they don't have much written they cover other bands, Paramore and Evanescence to me more specific.
Am I allowed to put some of their lyrics in my story if I say that they wrote them or is that a violation of some copyright thing? Do I have to send a letter to the bands or something to ask for their permission?
Thanks so much! :D

I would say you don't have to worry about it until you get towards the publishing process. Until then, go for it. :D

Why do you need the lyrics anyway? Are they absolutely crucial to the story or reveal something absolutely crucial about a character? If they are, go for it! Otherwise, ditch them.
