I have a problem that I don't think is common. I have too many ideas, both story-wise, plot element wise and scene wise. Post any tips you have for picking the scenes that you like best.
Note- "Best" in this case can mean: most relistic, has nice dialogue, the most emotion convaied, whatever.
My methods:
Write it out. If you have a scene half-way through the book you're debating with, write up to that scene and let the words flow. You never know, it might turn out completely different then you thought.
Grab a friend and talk his/her ear off about the point. They might have new ideas or, by hearing yourself say it, you'll figure out the best way on your own.
Chuck the story in the closet and start working on a new one. The method I'm currently using for Cat Steps. I have way too many ideas for that one so I'm getting away from it while I let the plot simmer a bit more.
What are some things you do?
