Elon

I eyed the Ogre cautiously as he walked stood above Celia, his dagger dripping with fresh blood. I began to back up slowly, remembering all the encounters I had with their species before. Ogre's did not take well to assassination.

Still backing up, relief spread over me as he walked out of the room. The boy who had been pacing seemed to be catching his wits, his gaze distant. Suddenly, he shook his head and ran over to Celia's side, chanting in some odd language.

After a few long moments of him crouching over her, he fell backwards; breath labored. "A word of warning to everyone here. I don't heal wounds, I just accelerate the healing process." He said with a sinister grin. He seemed to enjoy looming over injured girls' bodies. An odd character, I didn't yet know if he was worthy of trust.

Only when my ankle hit an oddly soft apparatus did she remember that she was backing up. Flailing my arms around, I fell backwards, landing not on the soft thing I had tripped over, but a solid form. I looked up, seeing the man who had spoken ever so wisely and obviously about our surroundings. His gaze caught mine, causing me to fall into a slumber like coma; his eyes were like the ocean itself. Oh, how I longed to hear the waves again.

"I believe you're lying on me." He said, raising one eyebrow. Catching the drift that he wanted me to get off, I slowly stood up, fixing my shirt.

"Sorry, Genie. I'll watch where I'm going next time." I replied, smirking. Despite his white complexion, his face began to turn red.

"I am not a genie, I am a Marid." He replied. Anger laced his every word. Grinning, I turned around.

"Ah, so I was off by a few letters. Don't get too worked up." I said, putting my hands on my hips. Standing up, his gaze now resembled that of a stormy sea, never mind calm.

"Alahzard, sit back down on your pillow. Pay no heed to these worthless specks," I looked up, angered by the worth speck. Switching my gaze from close to far, I saw the man I had run into on the way down the colored hall.

Garbed in black and green robes, his head was completely bald. His eyes were as black as the night sky, giving him an awkward appearance. He stood on the podium at the far end of the room; a small door opened behind him, pushing one of the large tapestries slightly to the side.

"What do you want?" One of the prisoners behind me yelled. I identified him as the one who had healed Celia.

"What do you want, Kiron? Freedom, maybe? A place to fly free over the ocean so you can wreak havoc on all of the civilization? You will be rewarded that, just not right now. And as for the rest of you, you all want similar yet different things. There is one more of you who wishes to be free to fly; if you haven't noticed, the ceiling is vaulted. Do as you please." The man folded his hands behind his back, stepping down from the podium and walking towards us.

"Why are we here?" Kiron called out again. He was obviously the mot bullheaded and outgoing of the group.

"I'm sure you are all dying to know the answer, so I will not torture you by denying the privilege. You all have a gift, whether it be magical or just plain physical. And as for you, Celia mind reader, your weak attempts may stop, you cannot penetrate a mind as old as mine, nor Alahzard's. Our immense knowledge outwits your feeble attempt. Back to the original discussion; you were all brought to Cambosea to flare against your home countries. We are in a weakened state, war has been waged by all of your homelands, and we have not the army to defeat them. That is why you are here."

"You can't force us." This time I was the one who shouted. Alahzard looked pleased that the man had favored him in his drawn out speech, a smug grin on his handsome face.

"Indeeed I can, actually. You see, Elon my dear, the waters that we have given you to drink," He pointed towards the barrels by the door. "Have been laced with a spell that will kill you if you do not get a large enough supply of it. The waters can only be found in Cambosea, so be rid of all hopes that on your upcoming missions you can be free."

Horror washed over me. I had been poisoned, instead of me doing the poisoning. I looked behind me at the other prisoners, they all shared the same look of fear. Yet, Alahzard didn't seem effected. I studied him; something odd kept pulling my gaze back to his eyes.

"You all shall have until daylight tomorrow to talk over your situation. Dawn will bring your training; you all need to work as a team. Only when you can, will you be given your first mission. Food will be brought for you as soon as the sun disappears from the sky. And my name, for those of you wondering, is simply Templar."

I turned around. Was he telling the truth? Studying the other prisoners, I sighed. I looked out one of the large windows that lined the southern wall. The sun was still high in the sky.
Anti-Peta.

Alahzard wasn't worried, not about the water anyway. He had to do what Templar said, and he didn't understand the other reluctance to do so. Regardless he wasn't worried about that, he had a much more interesting prospect he wanted to explore. He remand siting on his pillow and locked eyes once more with the woman who fell in his lap.

Perhaps this place will be more interesting then i had assessed he thought to himself. That woman is a paragon of beauty, i must have her

*Light, just post about your thoughts on what Templar just said. Put yourself by the water barrels or something. We're going to have a group discussion in the story book hopefully, so maybe start out that? And as for the discussion thread, here it is topic40251.html *

Name: Teale Dusa

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Race: Seer

Isle of Origin: Arborland

Appearance: 5'5, blond hair, two piercings on right ear, funny circular tattoo on left hand, glows teal when is talking to spirits or magic runs through her - her eyes glow that same color, usually is barefoot. jeweled with silver rings and earrings - if she has to, she fights with a spirit sword...

http://violetsun.deviantart.com/art/Vin ... t-25500129
http://lady-shade.deviantart.com/art/De ... t-76579051

Abilities: Able to see spirits - good and bad, is also telepathic. Can even talk to animals and inanimate objects, but it's extremely hard.

Strengths: Dancing to distract, getting information out, listening

Weaknesses: shunned people, relationships, her mother and past, fire - the warmth diminishes the mist in which she can see the spirits - so she obviously is cooler to touch, and likes damp dark cooler places

Personality: Protective, ready to fight when provoked. Motherly and supportive.

History: When she was a child she was shunned by the others because her mother was single. Now she watches over the shunned so they don't go through what she did. She's very protective of the least popular people.

Other: up for love

*I'll try to bring you in Light.*

Kiron-

"They can't seriously expect me to help my mothers killers?" Kiron muttered under his breath. He glanced up and surveyed the room. Clearing his throat he spoke up. "So. What is everyone anyway?"

"I'm the Fire Fox." The soft voice came from the red haired boy leaning against the wall. The first words he had spoken. "My names Ballow"

Curious Kiron turned and looked at the boy, head cocked to one side he asked. "So you're my opposite?"

Surprised Ballow commented. "You're the Storm Dragon."

"Yeah. I am." Kiron murmured, he pushed his glove down, exposing the dragon birthmark on his arm.

*Lol, thank you. And yes I did make Ballow to be completely opposite to you. ^^. You picked that up, didn't you?*

Ballow

I turned towards him slightly amused at the birth mark on his arm. He pulled the glove back on and my tailed flicked around me. Reaching up to scratch one of my furry ears I raised an eyebrow at him and smiled, "Why're you here for?"

The blue eyed, light brown haired male about my age stared back for a second, "I was going to be knighted for my achievements."

I let my hand fall to my side and I stared at him, "Achievements?"

He didn't answer and the silence had an awkward air about it, I broke it with a grin, "Well, I'm here for near destroying a military base and capital city."

This got a shocked look out of the people who surrounded me, it seemed they wanted some sort of reason for my horrible action. I shrugged and let out a laugh, "Well, I was angry. What more can I say?"

"What they did to you - for one." Kiron said.

Obviously I had somehow insulted him and I smiled at him. Then I frowned as something hit me (not literally, it was like an epiphany) and then laughed again, "Ironic, isn't it?"

He stared at me and I let my grin widen crazily, "What?"

"You'd think because we're opposites we'd have more in common." What I said made sense, but I was sure I had puzzled some people. I let the the seriousness fade from my gaze and I warmed up to someone else.

I pointed with a smile at a person next to me, "Why're you here for?"

Elon

I stood on the tips of my toes and stretched. Ignoring the conversation between the two apparent opposites, I waited for a breach in conversation to answer Kiron's question.

Finally, one came. "I am a half elf, Kiron, or should I saay, Monsiour Storm Dragon." I looked behind me. Alahzard was staring at me with an odd expression on his face. I suddenly became cold, needing warmth.

Sitting down, I held my legs tightly to my chest as I eyed our surroundings.

"Well that's nothing special." Kiron said, plopping down on the floor. Glaring at him, I imagined his whole body on fire. He fanned himself with his hand, hot from a sudden burst of heat. Apparently he didn't notice that he was the only one.

"And neither is this Storm Dragon. How un-original." I said, getting a glare back. I grinned, slightly beginning to shake from the cold I was feeling.

"I sense you would like to know how I got here, also. What I did. Well, what did I do? Celia should be able to tell you, she's a mind reader." I laughed quietly, looking at her as she frowned. "I'm not just any half elf, Kiron. I'm a murderer."

Kiron-

Kiron's face remained blank at the revelation, but then he slowly grinned. "So? I don't really care about stuff like that."

Elon seemed surprised but she smiled slightly and asked. "You don't? But I thought you were some kind of noble."

"Yeah. But I've run a bit wild in the past few years." He shrugged. "Father didn't really pay much attention to me. And of the people who could rein me in. Those who weren't afraid of my position Crown Prince, were scared I would eat them. I don't know why, I don't eat humans. They give me indigestion." He said jokingly.

Half elves, dragons, fire foxes.. I sighed. My bet was that none were Pelotavan. None of them looked like it, but then, you could never say. Just because their skin wasn't tinged with off-white did not mean that they weren't. Like my brother.

I liked it when people introduced themselves thus. While it meant that I had to talk, it also gave me a chance to listen, to analyse. I reran the facts I had heard in my head repeatedly, to ensure I did not forget as I was wont to. Perhaps if I was lucky, they wouldn't notice me, or would simply ignore my presence as they had done thus far. I also saw a girl who looked my age, but who stood into the shadows not for their protective cloak. She did not look shy, just more comfortable in the dark. Her blond hair was tumbling wildly about her shoulders, standing out so much that I was surprised I had not seen her before. A gypsy? Maybe. But she wasn't like those on the streets on the way to the castle. She looked serene at the moment, her countenance slightly guarded.

I sat down in carefully slow movements. Suddenness would attract far too much attention. And I did not want that. If they looked at me, it would be because they wanted to. Not because I induced them to. I raised my chin just slightly. Okay, so one murderer, one potential city destroyer. One Storm Dragon, one Fire fox, one Marid, one half elf. And one was possibly a gypsy. What were the other three? I waited patiently for more information. The despised, dizzying sun in its afternoon tracks looked as if painted high on the window by a skilled painter, to ensure we did not get our meal. I yawned, and froze. The gypsy girl was looking at me curiously. Instinctively, I rose and walked to the window, running my fingers upon it with nothing else to do. Then I realised that the window could easily open. I raised it, and gasped.

There was no sun. Just stone. My earlier suspiscion was somewhat confirmed. I whirled around to stare at the group behind me. The rays of light had followed the window up, leaving me in enjoyable shade and them in brightness. Staring at the now shiny-headed Marid, I asked, albeit somewhat reluctantly, "Is the sun on the window a mimicry of the outside?"

He looked at me, as if trying to make out my dark figure, then answered, "I think so."

Thank goodness for the murk. Everyone was staring at me now, straining their eyes against the shadow that was me. Except the Fire Fox. He cast me but a cursory glance and turned back. I gave him a confused look he did not see. Mayhap, his vision was as good as mine. Slowly, they turned back to the conversation at hand, all except the gypsy. I looked a very obvious "What?" at her, and realised she could not see it. Walking back across the room, I sat down. The window was still open, and the gypsy staring at it. Hah. She wasn't looking at me after all.

I did not resume eavesdropping. Instead, I look at them, memorising their features. I stopped at the Snow woman. If her beauty had not stunned me, her odd expression certainly had. It was one of loathing, so furious that I felt chilled to the bone, though it was not aimed at me. Quickly, she replaced it with a frown of disapprovement but understanding. I smiled smugly, happy that nobody had yet noticed me.

"What about you?"

It was the dragon boy who spoke. I gazed at him warily as pebbles of liquid rolled down the tips of his brown hair. Raising an eyebrow, I asked back, "What about me?"

"You a murderer?" I smirked. "Somewhat. I've killed. I've been exiled. I've been shunned. Not in that order." Blush stained my cheeks. I felt the back of my unexposed neck. The boy (he did not look much older than I was) raised his eyebrow. "Nice scar."

I touched my elbow self-consciously. It was the only scar, excluding the ones on my other elbow and my face, that was exposed. My olive green breeches and dark brown shirt, though riddled with slashes made by thorns, did not show any. I sighed for what seemed the hundred time, and, standing up, strode to the window, leaving his statement unreplied.

Celia

Celia had been standing in the background, somewhat stunned at what had taken place before. She would get her revenge on that horrid Ogre, and when she did, she would make sure it was more than just a slash with a knife.

She saw Erisa walking toward her. Celia wondered why the people wanted to capture a 15 year old girl. It was completely unheard of.

"Hi," said Erisa. "Whats your story?"

"My story?" Celia shrugged. "Well alright." It seemed to grow quiet in the room as everybody stopped to listen.

"I am a princess to Farydul, as you may have guessed from that Ogre. My entire life has been about power. I banished my parents, the King and Queen, at age 10, and let my brother take over. Everybody was afraid of me, and I liked it. I got married when I was 20, but had him killed a year later, because I suspected him of being loyal to someone else. The children went with him. I had only just discovered my mind powers and, unfortunately, let them public." Celia began to cry, the tears sliding off her face froze to snowflakes before they hit the ground (a snow nomad thing). "So that is why I was taken."
I came into this world wrinkled and ugly. And no matter how much I accumulate here, it's a short journey. I will go out of this world wrinkled and ugly. So I enjoy life.

Teale Dusa

I was brought out of my day-dreaming as I heard someone start to cry. I looked around, trying to find the source when I noticed a lady of the snow.

Silently, I walked to her and laid my hand on her shoulder. She flinched away, eyeing me curiously.

"I won't hurt you, unlike some, I am not a murderer. But they have their reasons, it doesn't make them evil, just misunderstood. Don't cry, we are all in the same position. We need to trust and help each other."

At this point everyone was looking at me, even the Fire Fox, whose name I'd temporarily forgotten. I looked off in dase, shrugged to myself, and went back to the cooler shadows - for I had started to sweat.

The woman asked, "Who are you? And why did they take you?"

As I turned my skirt flared around me - I thought it looked a little too dramatic myself. "My name is Teale Dusa, but my past is not as extravagant as everyone else's. Therefore, I would just bore you with my history."

Turning for the second time I glided toward the shadows, because a thin line of perspiration adorned my forehead. And it was not because of the people staring at me, but one of them.

*Hey Light, you mind if I claim Ballow?*

I smiled at Teale, happy that the ice was broken, and not completely by my own efforts. Some recklessness in me demanded that I ask the Snow princess (her name was Celia, or Cecily, or something of that sort) about her past, and had anyone asked me why I had done so, I would've replied, "It wasn't my doing."

"Bore away. I don't mind," I said, as friendly as I could. Somehow, something told me she was the big-sisterish type, the kind of person who would care if I jumped off a cliff. Few others seemed to. I liked her already.

She walked into the shadow and turned around again. "I'm not sure why I was taken. It must've been because of my powers, but they aren't nearly so interesting as your own. Celia," (hah! I knew it!) she gestured with her hand, "can read minds. You're a Fire Fox, and you a Storm Dragon. My abilities..."

"Yes?" said the Fire Fox, suddenly interested. Um, Ballow? Or was it Kiron?

"I have.. telepathic strengths. As well as second sight."

"Second sight?"

"I see spirits. And I can communicate with those that you cannot."

I stared at the girl, transfixed. Her skirts swayed about her as she paced back and forth. "That's about it. How about you?" Her hand entered light, and indicated the bald man with the weird, oceanic eyes. "Don't you have anything to tell, except, of course, wittisms and sarcastic comments?"
