He looked from Carmen, to the register, to the gunman slumped against one wall. He didn't feel too good about just ditching his job to go to Tennessee, but if the big guy thought shifters would be better off there, he was probably right.
Still, he had to make sure the coffee shop didn't get robbed while he was on duty, so he popped open the register, took out the money and moved it to the safe out the back, leaving a note in the register to explain to his boss.
With another worried look at the gunman, Jason threw on his jacket and ran after the others. He slowed down as he caught up with Carmen, "Alright. So we're leaving our jobs to go to Tennessee with a bunch of people we don't even know, you can transform into an otter, and we're probably going to be being chased by a guy who knows exactly what we are and where we're going. Don't you see something of a problem there?"

"Well, if we stay here, the guy with the gun would know where we are. Plus I hate it here. I'd much rather go someplace with clean water," I explained with a smirk on my face. I know this was a little crazy, but really, how normal was my life before? "There is good water in Tennesse, right?" I called up to the big guy.
"Yeah," he called back to me.
"See? This will be fun. Besides, a little sponinaity wouldn't kill you, Jason." I laughed, ruffling his hair.
Hey everyone, sorry I haven't posted. It is now Christmas break and I can't use the school's internet. Also, I am not going to be on for a week or more so Phantom Wings is going to take over for me until I come back.
Heather-
I ran out of the cafe during the fight and ran into the alley I had landed in earlier. More shifters? How in the world could this be possible?
After taking a few breaths I finally calmed down a bit when the large boy stormed by. He looked furious.
"Hey wait!" I called.
He turned around and I swore I heard a growl from his chest.
I smiled at the invitation. I was never asked to join anybody except my church. And something about this guy made me feel different. What on earth am I thinking?
I then looked at all of the others who were in the group and felt uncomfortable.
"Hi," I mumbled. I could feel the red in my cheeks.
"So what's your name?" the blonde haired girl asked.
"Heather..."
"I'm Carmen. What do you shift into?"
"I think we all need to get aquainted right now, if we're going to be traveling down to Tenessee together," said Carmen. "There's a restraunt over there."
Everyone agreed to go into the restraunt.
"Don't we need to be discreat? Go in by pairs or something?" I asked.
"It's New York. I don't think anyone will care," said Carmen.
"Yeah, but people in New York like to eavesdrop."
"It looks busy. I don't think we'll be overheard," said a dark haired boy.
The large guy didn't argue and we walked in the restraunt. Luckily there was quite a few people and we wouldn't be overheard. The dark haired boy who worked in the coffee shop pointed to a seat and the harder part came up.
"Okay, so who wants to go first?" I asked, but then the waitress came up to the table and pulled out her notepad.
"Hello and welcome to Big Boy. My name is Wednesday and I'll be your waitress."
...................
Echelon wanted his characters in so there is Wednesday. I don't know how we could bring in Saturday.
By the way there has been more talk on the plot line in the DT and this is probably the last you'll hear from me until January. Merry Christmas.
"I'll have a cheeseburger with extra onions and a Pepsi," I ordered quickly, handing her the menu with a smile.
Everyone else looked over the menu for a couple minutes. I'd picked this restaurant because it was my favorite, and if we were going so far away, might as well get something here first. I glanced around the table. I wondered who changed into what. I could picture the big guy being like a rhino or a bear or something. It was hard to decide on everyone else, though.
Jason looked up at me and smiled, then ordered. I felt guilty for staring at everyone, so I just picked at my bright red nail polish until the waitress left.
"So, can someone explain why we are going to Tennessee?" Heather asked in her quiet voice.
"The Cherokee National Forest is an animal reserve. Animals run freely and are allowed to do whatever long as they leave the humans alone. Personally, I think my animal would like to have somewhere to go where there aren't millions of people. That's just my theory. But I think it would be ebetter for us to live down there then anywhere else." He replied as he sipped on his drink.
"Once, that's where I was left. I was sent up here after a family that adopted me passed away." He replied. "It's heaven down there." He felt his throat start to constrict when he thougth about hif family. He thought of their murders and the bear inside him growled loudly.
Their dead, we took care of that. He said softly to the bear. Settle down, this is not th eplace to lose control. It went back into it's cave inside of him and he ran his finger in circles on the table.
"Well, that sounds nice," the nervous girl who had come into the coffee shop with him in the first place answered.
I nodded. "I'm Carmen and I shift into an otter," I began sounding an aweful lot like someone in one of those rehab circles. "I lived with my gramma for a while, but when I began to change, she got scared, and sent me away to a all-girl's Catholic boarding school. I climbed out a window and found myself on the streets of New York. Who's next?" I said, sipping my soda. Granted I'd left out how I got to New York, but that was even a little fuzzy to myself. I mean, I don't have as clear of a memory when I'm not human... And I'm not exaclty sure why I chose this place to land anyway... But I was excited to hear other people's stories.
Sarah sighed, and took a long sip on her iced tea. "I'm Sarah. I was orphaned as a baby and left home once my foster parents started locking me in my room out of terror. They would slide food in through a slot they had made at the bottom of the door- not big enough for a snake, of course. Oh, by the way, my animal counterpart is a python. And I really do doubt they have many of those at this animal reserve."
Sarah met each person's gaze, challenging them to speak against her, then went back to her iced tea.
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.
He gave a slight nod, "Good point, I mean, some of us'll fit in easy there, but others might have a hard time." He glanced over at the jaguar, then shrugged, "But I guess we'll just have to keep mostly away from humans. I'm Jason, by the way. I turn into an ocelot, not too sure if they have any down in Tennessee, but I'm thinking not. As for my story, it's nothing special, really. The only other person aside from all of us here who knows I can change is my brother, who doesn't really care. Sure, I change into a pretty big cat, but he's got used to it, and I've never tried to eat him before so it doesn't scare him."
Peter
He sat up, holding his head a little. He'd hit the wall badly when the big guy had thrown him, and he was still hurting in a few places. One of Harper's agents was standing over him with an ice pack. He scuttled back a few steps on seeing Peter wake up.
The shifter gave him a savage grin, "Ah. So the boss warned you about me then?" He checked one pocket, "My phone's broken. Ring him, tell him to get me a new one." He looked up, feral eyes meeting the agent's, "Then tell him to release my pack."
The agent gave him a slightly bemused look, then rang Harper, relaying the message. Cringing a little at the response he got to Peter's second demand, he handed the phone to Peter.
"You realise," Harper said, "That they're only barely used to you. These aren't other shifters we're talking about, these are wild hyenas. One could challenge you at any time!"
"It won't happen," Peter growled back, "I'm bigger, faster, stronger and most importantly, smarter than any of them. They know that as well as I do. Bring them to me, and I'll handle this ragtag pack of rookie shifters."
*Going away until New Years Eve and I'm not sure if I'll have internet, so can someone keep Jason and Peter alive? And if anyone wants to bring in the pack, it should range between ten and twenty-five in size (I looked it up)*

Trent looked around at the group. "I'm Trent, I shift into a bear." He said as he took a sip of his drink. "I was left at a hospital when I was a baby and then put into foster care. I was adopted up until I was ten. That's when I shifted first. I was then sent up here." He said not mentioning their murder and his revenge, not that he would've been able to keep from it.
I looked at Jason, surprised. We'd worked together for how long, and we didn't even know we'd shared our little secret. I wanted to talk to him alone, but I ignored that for now, and waited to hear someone else's story. The waitress came and placed our steaming orders in front of us. My mouth watered. The only thing better than this are fresh clams.
