Mechanical pencils or wooden pencils?

Wooden pencils are FTW. Mechanical pencils squeak when you write, and they break too easily.[s]And they you can't chew on them like you can with a wooden pencil.[/s]

What do you prefer?

Just write -- the rest of life will follow.

Would love help on this.

I'm sorry, but mechanical pencils are the way to go. They come in bigger sizes for people with big hands like me, and they don't cause a mess when you need to "sharpen it," or refill with led, and they're just wonderful. ^_^

*Edit: And they're fun to play with. Depending on the pencil, of course.

I love mechanical pencils! They rock my socks! I like them because of the same reason of the person above me......also because they are easier and you only have to buy one and it will last forever and the led lasts a long time too!

With mechanical the lead is protected when not in use, while with wooden there's a chance it could break and without a sharpener you're screwed. Mechanical pwns.

I prefer mechanical pencils, to the real thing. I started using mechanical about three years ago, and now a wooden pencil just feels wrong. I can't use them, I just can't.

So mechanical all the way.

Mechanical. XD They're always sharp, while wooden pencils always dull and flatten out. Also, wooden pencil writing is easy to smudge; I'm sorry, but it's a pet peeve of mine when my writing smudges.
Where are we going?

Wood!

You can't get intimate with mechanicals.

Wooden!

You can't doodle or do cool sketches with mechanical pencils :)

Mechanical because I don't write as sloppy. Besides, Manny brings out a good point about the no sharpener thing. :)

Wooden. Any mechanical pencil I've had ended up impossible to use; once the lead the already came inserted ran out, it was impossible to put a new one in.

Plus the wooden ones have more of a soul about them. And they're cheaper.

I love to use wood, but Mechanical pencils are easiest to use for notes in school. I love the way how wood rolls along the paper and leaves a nice trail behind with my handwriting.

I use wood usually when writing, but I use mechanical in school.
