Post your first NaNo sentence! This was a fun topic last year.

She should have taken the detour.

I really like mine. Of course, the story doesn't give that sentence justice.

What are your first sentences?

… “Tell me again what you saw when you came home, Mrs. Jacobs.”

My first sentece is kinda boring.
We've all been broken in some way. It's just how we express it that makes us dffrent form eachother.

“This precious book of love, this unbound lover,
To beautify him only lacks a cover.”

That's a pretty awesome first sentence, Jared.

myfreindsavamp >> It's actually not bad. It intrigues me.

Here is mine.

Fourth period French felt less like an exercise in patience and more like a cueing up for the middle ring of the Seventh Circle of Hell.

Ta,
Cal.
Fraser: Stop stealing the blanket.
[Diefenbaker whines]
Fraser: You're an Arctic Wolf, for God's sake.
(Due South)

Hatter: Do I need a reason to help a pretty girl in a very wet dress? (Alice)

There is nothing quite like the smell of rotting leaves, especially when there’s no one to clean the mess of the sidewalks.

And then all hell breaks loose! Well, not literally, but, er, it does? Fun! And only a hint that it's off-the-wall sci-fi-ish!

Prologue: "What's you name?"

First Chapter: Midnight is the perfect time to do a great many of activities.

I only posted both because the prologue doesn't really count in my mind because it's nonsense and is only there because I couldn't figure out what to write and that's the first thing that came to mind...

Real First Line:

Aquarius: Jan 21 – Feb 19

First line of real story:

The first thing that Viola Jane Marigold encountered that morning was the gritty, somewhat slimy taste of toothpaste.

I'm so excited for this! I hope I don't quit (:

When Aubrey was eight, she caught a soul in a jar.

(Which is technically cheating, because I wrote that line last February. Oh well.)
"He yanked himself free and fled to the kitchen where something huddled against the flooded windowpanes. It sighed and wept and tapped continually, and suddenly he was outside, staring in, the rain beating, the wind chilling him, and all the candle darkness inside lost."

Prolouge:Two men sat in the security room of the building, watching the screens in front of them in the dim light.

Ch. 1:Iniko sat at the table, staring into her vitamin oatmeal and stirred it with her spoon.

The first sentence of my prolouge isn't the best. And I now my Ch. 1 sentence isn't the best either (I'm hoping the action form the prolouge will keep the readers reading. I posted the prolouge because it happens 13 years before my main character enters the story. Hopefully no one would pick the book up and then put it back down.
I realized that I said I'd be gone for only two weeks...but I was gone for much longer.I hope to stay on this time. :)

Well here's mine...

White snow fell from the heavens as they plunged down into odd shapes and sizes onto the cobblestone streets of London, but no one knew that murder was going to take place in the grand estate of the Hampton's.

I feel like there's something missing. If you have any idea, tell me. Thanks!

Technically, it's "My name is Leila."

But technically-technically (that is to say, in third-person):

"Leila's body was a temple."
Graffiti is the most passionate form of literature there is.
