Well after my last site was shut down I was on the prowl for another poetry site to post at...however I had to go through a number of duds (I'm picky.). There were about 13 or so before this one in my Google search so down the list I went...and one by one the all failed miserably to meet my standards, which really aren't all that strict. What attracted me here was the sense of friendship that most of you lot have (this was a big stipulation for me, can't be at a site where everyone is at each other's neck), after that I started looking to the writing standard and caliber...which for the age range in the writing section was quite admirable, honestly I started writing at 14 and still am not even half as good as some writers here around that age range.

All in all, I decided this was the best pick of the lot out there. Though my activity may jump around and there could be pockets of months I go absent...I will eventually return.

What can I say, YWS has improved a lot of things in my life. I've actually noticed that I have more confidence in the things that I do. I can meet people easier and make friends. One thing I've noticed is that my writing has improved also; I used to have the worst grammar. Now I can spot mistakes quickly and know how to fix them. YWS has helped me in more ways than one, I can never thank Nate enough for making it.

Another thing I've learned: don't give up. If you get a harsh review, follow it. If someone doesn't like your writing, don't give too hoots.

YWS is the first place where I have actually gotten useful information on my work and how I write. I've been taught many things about grammar and style which I never would have known (for a while at least) otherwise. I think it's strengthened my work, and I take what I've learned from my short time here into every thing I write.

Also, it motivates me when I know people are actually going to read my writing, think about it, and post helpful feedback.

Adding to what I said earlier, YWS also changed the way I view the world. All stereotypes have vanished now, and I am much more open minded than I was before. Come to think of it, I did an entire essay about this for my Language class. The first draft was about 850 words, but I had to cut it down to seven hundredish. Worst cutting ever.

YWS has really helped me when I have to write anything! Being critiqued, and critiquing other work has improved my English and grammer more than schoolwork ever did! Coming back to the forum for a short while has brought back many wonderful memories, and I love reading through the critiques that people have given me in the past, and remembering the good times!

Okay...so where to satrt???

before i discovered YWS, i was fumbling around various places for where tow rite and was worried on my career to write like if i have to write what would happen as a career this include on my grammar, style and punctuation.

When i found, YWS...i firstly though of it as a normal writing website but as i indulged more, i began to like it and somewhat addicted to it. It had greatly helped me on my style, grammar and how should i write. It also include on how to write.

It had helped me a lot on my career in writing and YWs served as my guide for this career.

When I first joined YWS in 2006 (or maybe 2007, I don't know), I didn't like it. The layout was just way too confusing, but I did jump in way too fast.

Now when I came back, I loved it. and still do. It has helped me out immensely, not only with learning new things about writing, but also find the flaws in my own writing.

YWS has helped me in so many ways...

I've always wanted to write, but whatever I wrote would always go to nothing. I suppose apart from my parents telling me I wrote well, what I really craved was proper reviews, and over people's opinions.

Last year I moved to anther country, and things haven't been all that easy. However, knowing I could get home to make someone happy by reviewing their work, or by getting something I wrote reviewed, It just made my day

So... THANK YOU YWS, and all the amazing members!

I feel like a better person, and thanks to this site, I will certainly keep writing!

It has satisfied my hunger for showcasing my art to the world. And unlike many other websites people here are actually interested in reading you're work.
That's the one awesome quality which make's it stand out.

YWS has been the best thing that has happened to me concerning my writing of course. Anyway I've only been a member for a few months and I love it, I'm on several times a day almost everyday I guess you could say I'm obsessed LOL! Happy Birthday YWS and I wish you many more!

How has YWS helped me? I've seen peoples voices, and I've been able to help the ones with sore throats heal. You see, I joined YWS because I needed help. I had to get my butt out of word and get it where people can help me fix it, not keep sitting there and writing the same crappy work over and over. I have to say, you guys have given me what I needed and I thank you all for that. Here's to you!
