Your Thoughts Are Not Safe

Plot: It is Fall 2008 in the United States, and life is relatively normal for most--except for twelve extremely bright high school students. Due to some strange coming-of-age, supernatural brain function, they all suddenly have gained the power to read minds. They have all just had their birthday, whether they be 16, 17, or 18, on September 17th. They all think they are going crazy until their searches on the internet finally hit gold. Someone on Yahoo Answers asks if there are such things as mind-readers, and someone named Dr. Blaine responds, 'Indeed,' and then posts the name of a city: Seattle, Washington.

Where you come in: Your character is one of the mind readers. You may also enter the storybook late as a character they meet on the way or in Seattle. Mind readers cannot read other mind readers' minds. No one is permitted to be Dr. Blaine (we're trying to find him/her!) Eventually everyone meets up because they can't hear each other, and are curious. There are only 12 mind readers allowed!

What happens now: You may make your first post on their birthday, or on the day they find the Yahoo Answers post--whichever suits you. Everyone must go to Seattle eventually.

~No God characters (flaws make characters human!)
~No "exceptions" (no one has more powers than others--we are all equals)
~No over-the-top sexual content (a little suggestion, maybe a little of that '...' stuff, but this isn't a sex storybook)
~No killing other characters--Period. (You may kill your own--mind reading may cause insanity)
~Minimal swearing (may I echo the moderators? this is a site for Y-O-U-N-G people)

Personality: Born in a different time, Jink is the age old thief. Jink loves tricks and traps as well as a good thrill. She's observant, intelligent, sharp witted, and rules herself with logic and fact. When thrown into tough situations, Jink is the first to get out and pull whoever else needs saving with her. Although Jink does not consider loyalty a top priority, she will stand by her friends when she thinks it's necessary.

Appearance: She has long, wavy, black hair with no fringe and bold, green eyes. Her skin is pale and lacking in both freckles and blemishes and she's under-weight, almost on the verge of being anorexic. Her face is a smooth, oval shape and she prides herself on keeping her nails long and elegant but they look slightly out of place on her small, delicate child-like hands.

Personality: Xenia is outwardly absurdly silly and immature though she does have a measure of common sense and the potential to be bright: good memory, picks things up quickly etc. She's obsessed with both her social and physical appearance and she is over dramatic, imaginative and volatile.

History: Xenia generally lives alone though her mother occasionally turns up wanting to crash or vomit on her floor. Sometimes she does both on the same night. Xenia's father is a successful rock star, currently on tour across Europe. He met her mother when she was just starting her acting career and they lived together at first but the mother's career went down hill and the father disowned her and set his daughter up in an expensive hotel in Las Vegas when she was thirteen years old. Since then, he's visited her only six times but frequently sends presents. Xenia's been following news on him online and knows he has a new wife and two children in North Dakota.

Appearance: Black short hair, sharp green eyes, tan skin. He stands about 6'6 and his very broad shouldered. He is the type of guy that would be a linebacker. He is huge! Kinda your gentle giant though. He is ripped, but isn't the type of guy that talks about his muscles. To him, they are there, end of story.

Personality: He is very protective of the ones he love and isn't afraid to throw a few punches for them. He is a big Teddy bear, but he is still a bear and will still fight for what he believes.

Other: He's quite, but when he talks, he is normally heard.

Appearance: He is tall and has white soft skin. His hair is a chin length shaggy emo styled cut, and is black.

Personality: He is kind of silent, and he tends to seem cold. He doesn't trust others very easily, and he has a good reason too. People only seem to want to cause him either trouble or pain. So he's pretty much given up on caring anymore, but that's not saying he's not a bad guy. He just acts mean, but he'll protect the weak.

Other : Kizame is skilled in gun shooting- since his dad was a world famous gun shooter.

Appearance: Fiery red eyes, raven-black hair and is lanky and tall. When angry his eyes become darker and when happy or amused they become lighter.

Personality: Dark by nature, he was fostered into different homes again and again. He never shows emotion, but deeply feels pain, every single second of every single day.

Other: Even though he's lean and lanky, he is incredibly fast.

Personality: She is very bubbly and flirty at times, but she knows how to be subdued when it counts. She has a very pure spirit and a heart of gold. Her temper may get the best of her at times, but she's not a very violent, fighting kind of person.

Other: Juliet's mother was Miss Malaysia back in the late 1970's, and her father is a Californian and the owner of a major record company. She now lives in Greenwich, Arizona with her mother. Her father left when she was just 10. Juliet hasn't seen her father in four years. She is an only child, and not very popular at her school, despite her beauty. None of her classmates want to take the time to get to know her, so she is forced to sit in the background.
