McCain Running Mate

This morning, as I was driving in to work, I listened to NPR, which I do every day. Today, however, they were talking about the likely running-mate for John McCain. When the name came out of my speakers, my jaw dropped. At this point, I'm a little too shocked and a little too frightened to really process this, but it's bad. For those of you who haven't heard this little tidbit, the name was... ...Sarah Palin. Damn. Okay, sure, she'd grant him a dose of that "celebrity" status that Obama seems to have, and she IS a female, which gets the minority thing on his ticket. And I suppose her policies probably jive with his. But... but... Sarah Palin? You've got to be kidding me. She has been really tearing this state through Hell. Worst mistake of our lives. She's got that deceptively pretty face, but I contest that the woman is pure evil. She's twisting the hunting laws to take the power away from the government and put it in the hands of a big-money committee. She wants to drill in ANWR. She favors the mining industry. She opposes a woman's right to choose. Etc. Oh, and the Public Safety Commissioner thing. Suffice to say that we (read: I and the people I hang out with; I can't speak for everyone) don't care much for the woman, and the possibility that she might someday be President (because, let's face it, McCain is OLD) is terrifying! I'd also like to point out that no one seems to be mentioning the whole Public Safety Commissioner thing. She's doing a bad job in Alaska, folks. How good of a job do you think she'll do as President if McCain dies? It's not something we can ignore. Dude's old.

It seems to me that everyone is discussing/debating this choice in this thread. Perhaps you could move the whole thing to the discussion forum instead of the lounge?
