Hey, I'm Tori, I'm 19 and from Massachusetts, USA. I haven't written much and a while, I just haven't had the inspiration, but I hope to get back into my poetry and prose.
Welcome to YWS It's nice to have you here! My name is Demeter, but feel free to call me anything you like.
I, too, have to wait for the inspiration to write. Usually that's not so nice, because I'd like to write, but I just don't have the inspiration... Am I making myself clear?
Well, here in YWS we have a rule that says you must do at least two reviews before posting your own work. That way you won't just be using YWS for your own good, but instead being also helpful to others. And actually reviewing is really fun (if you have the inspiration!)
Hmm... I have a feeling I should tell something else, too, but I don't remember what it was. Well, anyway, enjoy your time here and just PM me if you need any help or support. See you around!

Haha, I hate waiting for inspiration too! Lately, the only thing that's made me write is the Writing Olympics that are just about to end on YWS. However, there is this one handy Story Theme Generator we have on YWS that might be helpful as you get used to writing again.
Anyway, see you around! I'm a moderator (you can tell because my name is green) and I've been around her since 2005, so I know my way around here and I can help you with everything site-related. If you have any questions, just ask.

Anyhoo, Hi! Welcome to YWS! If I waited to write until inspiration hit... I'd never sleep. Which explains a heck of a lot as to why my writing is annoyingly sporadic. Yay, college and ruining muses! At least that's the case for me. How about you?
If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line!

Medieval Lit! Come here to find out who Chaucer plagiarized and translated - and why and how it worked in the late 1300s.
I hope you can find inspiration. I tend to read to find inspiration... creativity sparks creativity. College is difficult to work around though. Eh! Darn.
This is a very helpful site - reviewing is so helpful! You get such positive and negative feedback. I've grown so much as a writer since joining! PM me for reviews and what not. I'm quite friendly.
Yeah, like Snoink said, the story generator is pretty handy =D There's also a name generator, and a poetry generator, and (love this) a Shakespearean insult generator =D
If I just wait for inspiration to hit me, it can be weeks. I try not to let it be so long, so there are lots of times where I find myself staring at a blank white page on my computer screen.
This place has helped me a lot though, helped me grow as a writer. I wasn't writing terribly much when I first came here. I write a lot more now, and I discovered I like poetry:) I'm sure it will help you too.
Keep in mind (I suppose I'm obligated to mention this since no one else has yet, though if you've read the Rules and Guides, you probably already know this), you need to do two reviews before submitting any of you writing, and after that you need to do at least two reviews for each piece you submit.
I hope this place gets you back into writing:) If you ever want a review, PM me!
I think the others have covered most of the important stuff, so all you need to know is that I'm always happy to help out. If you'd like a crit, have any questions, or just want to chat, then pm me.
What sort of prose do you write? I'm afraid I'm not too hot on poetry.
