The only way you might be able to tell that something wasn't normal would be if the person hadn't been active for months, and even then you wouldn't realise that they'd died.
Just a thought.

You wouldn't know, unless one of their family members logged on under their account and told everyone -- and lots of people would probably think it was a prank.
That's what's weird about the internet. You might die in real life, but on the internet you'd just fade away.
I used to wonder what my online friends would think if I died. It's not like anyone would know to go online and tell them. o.o But that's a morbid way of thinking, and I'm trying to steer clear of that.
Frylock, please, no books! I can't read; I'm not a loser!

Well, I've considered it. I'm sure the people closest to me would eventually call me/my house, and receive the horrible news. I'd call them, too. It's scary. heh.
“It's necessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to live.” ― Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo
I've thought about this before too. And I'm not the sort of person to leave without saying goodbye so if I'm ever gone for a month or more, I'm probably dead. Remember that XD
haha well some of us have each others facebook/myspace pages and the like, and i'm assuming should someone die, someone who knew would make posts on their page (this seems to be a normal occurance in the information age) and then the others would see by way of stalkerfeed and then everyone would know.
I knew a few people on LJ who died and their family/friends posted on their LJ or on the comms they were in to tell us the news. It was actually pretty shocking =[
I guess my boyfriend would post it for me ^^ he knows my password.
Haha, I think about this quite often. =P Dreamer would probably just say it

If I died, I hope the internet doesn't mourn my loss. I would rather fade away.

What a morbid bunch we are! But it's nice to know you aren't the only one who has ever wondered!
Before I go on holiday I always start to think about these things more, so this year I wrote out a list for my sister with my passwords for all sorts of different things should there be an emergency. Then got rid of it, in case it was tempting fate.
