A 12-year-old girl was left without food or water to die in the backyard of her foster home, delirious with pain and unable to move, a court has heard.

Crown Prosecutor Richard Coates said doctors at Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH) uncovered a "massive 1.5 litres of pus" in the child's leg, caused by a fracture to her left thigh.

Sisters Toni Melville, 43, and Denise Reynolds, 42, have been charged with the manslaughter of the girl, who first started to limp following a school sports day.

Three weeks later, on July 12 last year, she died from a blood and bone infection.

This is sick. I read this and just wanted to throw up. It's just plain wrong.

I hope these women spend a long time in jail rotting for what they've done to this poor child!

That is just vile. Negligence of that order is criminal.

This makes me nauseous. She was in the backyard? Treated like a dog. This is just inhuman, this is evil.
How am I not myself?

That is beyond terrible. That poor, poor girl. I agree with unsterblichkeit, they should die in jail without food and water. This makes me sick, no child should be treated like that. And this was her foster home? So that girl already didn't have a super-easy life, since she had to live with sixteen other people.

Terrible.

This was AWFUL! How the heck could the nuns be so uncaring? Couldn't they at least call a freaking doctor? I hope those "nuns" rot in jail! That's so awful. And the children were ordered not to help. This is so...SICK!

I think this may be even sicker than THAT to say but...

I'm glad that poor girl's dead.

She doesn't have to put up with that anymore, what they did to her in life was worse than dying I'd say.

I'm sure they won't last long in jail if somebody find's out that they killed a kid, kid killers never last long according to my dad.
I just lost the game.
