I kinda like the ads. Some of them are quite humourous.

I found one once about a product that removes the smell of urine.

XD

I would like to give something back to this site so that Nate does not go broke, but I'm afraid I would never be able to persuade my parents :(.
I don't block the adds though :).
Does YWS get money if I click on the adds? I'll start clicking if they do!

I don't really care about the adds that much...they're very easy to ignore, in my opinion. However, if YWS needed a fee to continue functioning, I would definitely pay a very small fee to support it. 2 $ seems reasonable, for instance. But just for add removal, I don't really care, so I wouldn't.

Pft i'm not going to pay for things that don't bother me. But is it a 'only if you pay' so not everybody has to, or if you bring it in as a policy, only those who pay get no ads?

I personally do not mind ads, i have super fast wireless so i don't mind they don't take much time to load.

No. The ads don't interest me at all.

I wouldn't pay, either. I have webspace that I pay for and I can barely afford that.

Wow! 284 votes!

Anyhow, some people skipped over the first post, so this is what's happening: there will never ever be any sort of fee to access YWS. YWS is free of charge. However, if you wish to remove the ads or to donate to YWS, then you would have the option of paying $2 to $4 a month. If this policy were instituted, it'd probably be $2.50 (the extra .50 covers transaction costs).

However, I'm not sure if it'll be done still. While enough people are interested (I estimated 10% would be, and that turned out to be true), it's devilish to set something like that up. It'd take up a least a weekend for me, but I just don't have that kind of time right now.

Well $2 would be like £1.50 here in the UK

meh. To me it's not that big of a deal. They're clean adds, anyway, and I've found several contests and such through google adds. They don't pop out in the middle of my screen and keep me from navigating around the site. I really don't care if they're there or not.
Where are we going?
