If you got Firefox 3, there's a hack you can use to more than double your internet speed (if you have broadband that is). Thanks to it, my loading times for YWS' front page went from 3.8 seconds to 1.3 seconds, and wired.com, which always loads slowly for me, now loads immediately.
If you don't have Firefox 3, download it now! There's a link on the front page for Chimped Out, and in the header for default.
To implement the hack, do this:
1. Type "about:config" into the address bar.
2. Set "network.http.pipelining" and "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to true.
3. Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to 15. Some sites will tell you 30, but a number that high can break servers like the one YWS runs on. 15 is plenty good enough.
