I could only sleep for a couple of hours, before rolling out of bed. Tegan was sprawled on the sofa outside Sam's room. He mumbled something as I tiptoed past.
"Ssh, it's fine, I just need a drink," I told him. "Sleep."
But as usual, we were out of milk.
I sighed. I hated going upstairs for milk because frankly, it always meant I would get caught up with vampires.
I looked at Tegan again.
Maybe that wasn't such a bad thing.
And after all, how many times could it happen to a girl?
I opened the door and climbed the stairs. There was somebody standing outside Alana and Drake's already. I stared for a moment, then shut our door and shook Tegan gently.
"There's like, a meeting going on over there," I said. "Any idea what's going on?"
"Stella. You were in my dream the other night. And everyone called you Princess." -Lauren2010
I sat in my parked car and realized it was likely Haven was still following me. He was mad so he would probably attack. I stepped cautiously out of the car and walked at a steady pace around the back of my apartment building. Sniffing the air, I could smell the bloodlust and anger. I wasn't afraid of him, I could easily take him out.
It was hurting Haven, the next in line for the Rougue throne, that made me uneasy. I didn't want to spring the war too far forward, too fast. I shifted my eyes, so I could see better in the dark. As I turned the corner to the front of the building I expected him to be there, but he wasn't. I entered the building and stepped into the elvator that took me up to my house.
The girls were still on the couch. I tried to hear a heartbeat but the air was silent. I grabbed my cell phone and dialed Joseph's number.
"How important is this?" Was how he answered the phone.
"Joseph did you kill those girls?" I asked, a hint of anger in my voice.
"Don't get your panties in a bunch. Now what are you talking about?"
"The girls, the ones you left on MY couch! They're dead."
"Dead?" Joseph's tone dropped.
"Yes!" I nearly screamed.
"Jack, I barely took any from them. Has anyone else been in your apartment?"
"No, of cou-" I paused and looked around the room. Haven was in here.
"Jack, talk to me, what's going on?" I could hear Joseph through the phone that was now on the counter. I turned as Haven entered the room, licking blood from his fingers.

I met Tegan at the parkinglot, next to my black Eclipse. The windows were tinted as dark as possible, in case we had any midday calls. Thank God it was only an hour and a half before dawn...
"What's up?" he asked as he settled in the seat next to me.
I plopped into the driver's place, turned the key, and let the engine roar to life. "A Rogue tailed a new recruit. Probably because our new friend has connections with the Rogues, and they want him as badly as we need him."
"Makes sense. Where to?"
"Jack Saint John. Tere's an address book in the back."
Tegan hated being my "secretary," as it were, but there wasn't much else to do. I had no idea who the guy really was or how to find him!
"Moonbeam Apartment Complex. Number 507."
"Gotcha."
We sped off, ready for the fight.

Alana frowned as Drake left. She wanted to help so bad, and she would be more useful because the sun didn't affect her. She shook her head and went over to Jenna's apartment so that they could hang otu for a little while. She knocked and watched as the peep hole got dark then light again as Jenna was checking to see who it was.
"HI." She smiled opening the door.
"Hi," Alana stepped in and Jenna closed the door again. "How's Sam doing? I haven't seen him in a few days? Is he recovering?"
I picked up a knife that was resting on the kitchen counter and took a few steps towards Haven.
"Don't be stupid." He siad, "You think I'm gunna fight you?"
"No I was just thinking we could skip to the killing." I said sarcastically, not sure if he was serious about not fighting.
"You won't kill me." He replied matter of factly. He was right, it wasn't that I didn't want to kill him, I just knew it wouldn't be a smart move.
"Well I can't just let you walk out of here, you killed those girls."
"They weren't even awake yet, they didn't feel a thing." He said with no remorse. I set the knife down, leaned against the table, and folded my arms across my chest.
"It seems we have a stale mate here." I said evaluating all of the escape roots he had. He could jump out one of the many windows I had, but I figured he would go for something more subtle, like the door.
"Look," I said, but I didn't get to finish, the door got kicked in.

"He's asleep, I think," Jenna said. "He's alright, I hope."
"It totally sucks that those guys won't let us fight," Alana said grumpily, flopping down on the sofa. I crept a little closer and looked through the chink in the door. "That's one of the downsides of having a vampire for a boyfriend."
I saw my sister blush. "Oh, Tegan and I aren't-"
"Whatever," Alana said. "Don't you wish you were fighting though?"
I stopped listening, as her scent wafted past me. Alana smelt so good. Mixed with Jenna's usual perfume, it was as if a feast was just waiting for me.
I came out. Jenna looked up, surprised.
"Hey Sammy. Alana's just here for a while-" she frowned. "Sam, are you oka-"
Her sentence ended in a scream as I bared my teeth and pounced on top of Alana.

**Hmmm...Drake and Tegan took off after a Rogue, who is now with Jack, in his apartment. Sam couldn't control his thirst and attacked his own sister and her best friend...Hold on a moment.**

Just as I pulled up to the curb and Tegan stepped out, I saw a girl walking down the street. Alone. Bleeding at the hands.
"Go on in," I told him. "I'll catch up."
I stepped out of the car and approached the girl.
"Miss, it's not safe to be out right now, especially when you're bleeding."

"You know you could have just opened the door, you didn't have to knock it in." I said annoyed, but slightly amused.
"Yeah well knocking it in was more dramatic. Whats going on now?" I didn't get to answer Joseph though because another vampire came in, one I didn't know. Haven was sitting down in one of the chairs now.
I turned to Joseph, "It looks like we have ourselves a prisoner."
"What happened to the good old days of take no prisoners." Joseph mused leaning against the wall.
"Well we definatly can't kill him...yet. But we could use him." The other vampire was looking rather confused. I walked into my office and came back with some duct tape, "We should tie him up."
